My mom groomed and trained dogs for years and had a lot of pitties and Amstaffs come through, and she never, ever had a problem with them and they were always the best dogs to train. The dogs that she did have problems with or got snappy with her were, wait for it, golden retrievers, labradors, and austrailain shepherds.

Pitbulls are awesome, all they need is time and patience in their training. They have so much love to give, it breaks my heart to see them being abandoned. I ve owned Pitbulls for over 20 years now and most were rescues. They are all goofy in their own way and will bring joy and fun into your life. The only downside is, you don't get any privacy, none what so ever. They will follow you wherever you go 😄

It's such a good life hack to have an older dog to assist in training your puppies. Our family dog was 4 years old when I brought a tiny 5 week old puppy home and she showed him the ropes completely. Thanks in part to her help, Jethro turned out to be the absolute best dog you could ever ask for. He has also paid it forward with friend's dogs, who now idolise him 😄

Just to add to the discussion, my dog is half pit, half blue heeler. He is the sweetest dog I have ever met. Hyper as ever but never violent. I worry about the pit side but never would I keep my dog from my nephew out of fear. It is a misunderstood breed thanks to the media. They are not killing machines at all, they just want love like all of creation. They deserve it like you and all people do.

I have found the best thing about adult dogs with puppies is they do the potty training. I didn't have to do anything. I had rescued two adult dogs and two puppies. The adult dogs did all the work of teaching them the rules of the house. Epic.

Having an adult dog like that makes the pups more adoptable as they understand whats ok to chew on.

Another reason I love dog's so much, they love just about everyone. It's simply amazing that he's taking the puppies and teaching them how to be happy dogs.
