Mark my words; 10th Gens are gonna be classics! You can't go 2 minutes on the road without seeing one still runnin'. Smooth lines give it a slick look and its truly a design of its own. Every proceeding model has been a "not last year's model" effort with no originality. Love 'em and I just might go get my 3rd one. lol
The Triton motors (both sizes) seem to be super reliable and will go a LOT of miles from what I've seen. These things will last! I love mine. It's a 5.4L 2001 with 79k.
@@craddock619 if they suck stock then they also wouldn't be the #1 sold fleet truck, ambulance and many others... 🤷🏾♂️ Stock chevy and dodge is good... because if you mod em your just gonna throw a rod or drop a valve... hence why vettes always put around and barely get the RPMs up 🤣
If I owned that truck I would make it a Harley clone with the front end, side pipes, wheels, then innovation cover and a drop and it would be crazy clean especially with that color
That jellybean is amazing! I have one of the last 10th gen F-150's ever built, a 2004 Heritage model with the 4.2L v6 and 5 speed manual transmission. It was built in Canada with what was left over from the 2003 models and parts and accessories bin. I recently had it repainted the factory red color and replaced all of the broken exterior parts, and it looks great! But the old v6 has over 225,000 miles and is starting to get tired, so I'm tempted to swap in a coyote and a Tremec 6 speed manual if it'll all fit and work together in the truck. Or maybe save the money, just rebuild the 4.2 and keep everything stock. Decisions, decisions.
My 2001 SuperCrew just turned 350,000. The driveline is all original down to the original water pump. I might have to do a little work before adding a blower... LOL That is a beautiful truck.
@@stevefortney6669 Very nice, hope you get to a million! A tech I know services Ford airport shuttles and has had quite a few 5.4s hit a million and those were the less reliable 3V models, so it's possible!
I’m a big fan of the fender flares on these trucks such as the Harley Davidson edition. I have a 2002 FX4 Supercrew and the fender flares make it look more rugged and sporty. I feel that without them the truck looks more plain almost like a work truck.
I've been contemplating on either a 5.0 or a lightning swap for my 99 f150 4x4 to put more life in her... It's still a beast at 300,000 miles even I have 2 small issues with the electronic side of the 4wd but even with just 2wd at this point it's still pulling people out of being stuck just about anywhere... Everyone hates a 5.4 but my 2 valve with the aluminum intake is and always will be a beast to me for being 330 cubic inch engine
The 2v and 4v version is awesome I love the motor in my 07 gt500 that was one of the main reasons I wanted a shelby along with the tr6060. Torque for days. The 3v version had some issues so everyone puts them all in the same category thinking all 5.4s are the same.
We have 00 f150 4x4 can and a half long bed. Great shape. I bought a 00 f150 lightning rollover. You can guess. Swapped engines. Now I have a 5.4 supercharged 4x4. Computer reprogram. Fit like a glove. Yes it'll move quickly.
I have had the same 4.6 f150 for so long that now I just can’t seem to get rid of it despite having other trucks. It has 370,000 miles on it. I’m thinking about the coyote swap, rebuilding the suspension,and rear disc brakes.
Mine had 350k miles after I decided to keep it in the family. 10k paint job and 40k coyote swap/ tranny/ rear-end/supercharger/ suspension/ brakes/ driveshaft/ suspension/ dakota cluster. Etc.
Well I bought a new f150 coyote … maybe a whipple is in its future.. the old 1998 f150 my 10 year old is now cruising it through the pasture and down our dirt roads.

I have an 01 Lariat extcab 4x4 i bought new. It has been sitting in the garage since August 2011. It has the Triton 5.4 that blew the plug. I fixed it and drove it for 230K and never had another problem. But it definitely needs more power. Thinking about the superscharged Coyote.
This is so cool, I swapped a 2016 Mustang 5.0 and tr6060 in my 97 F-150 and I love it! I thought mine was the only 10th gen coyote swap until I saw this. I'm glad to see that someone else is as crazy as me!
I have a 2005 f150 and was curious did you have to modify any mounts or anything else. I have been trying to find out if I can drop a 2nd gen coyote in mine
@@pittsponies4790 well my truck had the 4.2 v6 but the 5.0 has the same engine mounts as the 5.4 and 4.6. All I did was take the frame mounts off of a junkyard 5.4 truck and put them in mine. I was having clearance issues with my power steering pump so I made some spacers to go in between the frame and the mount to raise the engine up. But I just went to autozone to get the mounts since I could easily return them if they didn't work. (I tried out a lot of mounts)

Just build your motor, save half the money. Not hard to make big power out of the mod motor - when you are talking $35k for the swap. Spend $15k on your mod motor and blow the doors off that thing
@@efab9346 you saw what I wrote. I love the 7.3 Godzilla with the harrop blower over the coyote. But again, you are back to spending $35k+ on the swap. And for what. 1000hp. Woopdido. Plenty of 2v’s making 850-1000hp using a built 4R100 trans. Cost you $20k for the 2v and another $4k in the trans and $1k for a circle d converter. Whatever other upgrades you want to make, since technically you saved $15k by keeping the 2v and 4R100. Still gotta build the stock trans to handle the big power. Still gotta throw a circle d converter at it. I’d rather have a brick shit house short block all balanced and blueprinted, trick flow heads or alike, with a whipple 3.4, tuned on 93 with meth injection. With the right cam, and enough timing, easily see 850hp 93 pump gas. Have to run corn to hit 1000hp same setup. 850 is fine with me. More than fine.
@@FordEra I really loved the dash. The think the headrest in the rear seats are a later year option, Mine also has the exhaust manifold leaks. Bad design ford. subscribed to the channel because of that truck. thanks keep killing it.
Why? Spend $15k on building your motor and clean that coyotes clock, saving $15k in the process. No need to swap if you want power. Swaps are for bragging rights. Put $35k into your truck and it will smash on this swap
Are they the most aerodynamic F series ever? Just wondering because all the newer models since 03 have become more boxy and larger of course. I have a 2000 F150 4x4 super cab 4.6 still going strong.
