In this video i take on the challenge and replace the upholstery in the 66 mustang with TMI. The installation was not to bad but i recommend having a helper to stretch the fabric or secure the hog rings but overall i was able to do it and the seats came out nice. The seats in the 66 mustang were destroyed and torn so i tried and do it myself and replace the upholstery, check it out in the video and be sure to help me out and hit that SUBSCRIBE. thanks for watching.

Great job. Most difficult for those who have never done this. Much harder than you made it look at the fast speed. :) I'm trying to find someone doing the rear seat for a 65-70 mustang.

Great job. Would love to the back bench done. Can’t find any 64-66 rear bench upholstery replacement vids. If someone knows of any please share.

Do you have this video available without the background music? Serious, can't hear you and it is so annoying i want to shut it off. The video itself is exactly what i was looking for, that is a novice installing TMI's foam ans seat cover. Thanks.

Why didn’t you replace the old burlap?

Nice video! What did you use for listing wire?

Just cut down a role of wire from the hardware store.

When you are hog ringing your upholstery listing wires to the foam, are you hog ringing to your previous hog rings that you used to connect your foam to the frame?

It's been awhile since I've done it but you hog ring the wire you slide through the upholstery to the steel seat frame.

What was the hardest part? What would you say on a level from 1 to 10 on how hard it is to install?
@pricegarage3641

Hardest part was stretching the material and keeping the foam in a good position. I would say maybe a 6 out of 10. It was my first time doing any sort of upholstery and the seats came out pretty good.

I've seen a few of these videos, but no one is explaining what you're exactly pinching those hog rings to when you go down deep in the foam crevice. Can you comment on what you're doing there? Are you grabbing that listing wire and then clamping it onto what, the seat frame, just the foam? Is there wire in the foam?

There is another listing wire that sits on top the burlap and is fastened to the frame. He is pinching the hog ring over the listing wire in the seat cover, through the foam, then around the second listing wire. Hope that makes sense.

@@kascus I just cannot pierce through both the foam, all the way to the frame. Any secrets?
@kascus

@@slappy1965 you can make about a 2 inch slit using a knife through the foam at the hog ring attachment points to get deeper with the pliers. You should be able to see the wire peeking through under the foam. You are not going to the “frame”, just to the listing lire that is attached to the frame. Put lots of weight on it and use your free hand to push up from the bottom side to help the two sides to meet. Just be careful not to hog ring your finger. It can take a few attempts to get it. I went through 4x the amount of hog rings needed for a job due to missing the wire when clamping.

I didn't hear him say that. What I heard was, "It's not perfect but, it's better than it was". I think RU-vidrs say thing like because they expect experienced viewers to give them shit for a less than perfect job. Aside from not giving attention to the frame (clean it, smooth it, paint it) which is being picky, I think this guy did a great job. He can do mine anytime.

He said he's not a professional at this sort of task, so basically don't expect it to be perfect. He gives you ideal what to do and in some eyes, what not to do. Im about to do mine, but already removed the rust, treated , and painted the seat frame. I'll replace the matting underneath and burlap layer. But that's my me. For someone who doesn't do this as a profession, he did a pretty good job.
