Simple video guide on How to install and configure Work Folders on Windows Server 2019 and how to setup work folder client on Windows 10 Computer using group policy.
1. Install Work Folder service on Server 2019.
2. Install SSL certificate for Work Folder service.
3. Setup Folder with NTFS permission for sync share.
4. Create Sync Share Folder.
5. Create GPO to define work folder related group policy settings for windows 10 clients.
6. Test the result on windows 10 client PC.

Great video. Works on my training lab. Very similar in concept to OnceDrive in Azure cloud. I was not aware of this feature on windows server Thank you for sharing with all, and keep up with the detail explanations That is the way to make it understandable

I have a set of files that I would like for everyone on my domain to be able to access both online and offline. For example, User1, User2, and User3 would all be able to get to myfile.doc. Would this be a solution for that? Within the video, I can see that the group "domain users" are giving access to the folder, but when a user puts something in their work folder, it looks like it links it directly to them and prevents other users (IE: User2, and User3) from being able to access it.

Yes.. We can use it for internal purpose and if we implement in proper way, we can also use it over internet as well.

is it allowed to install CA server in domain controller? i mean is it best practice for production environment?

For small environment it will be fine but for large it is not recommended.

cant we use self signed certificate for workfolder ? is it must to use certificate signed by CA server?

You can use self-signed certificate but you need to import that certificate on all client computer to trust it.

@@MSFTWebCast thank you.. in real production environment do we need to insall CA server in non domain controller member server? in your lab you installed the role in domain controller? but in real production i have heard its not recommended? any suggestion. i lost in touch with system side quite some times. now moslty in networking. thats why.
