Thank you so much for your videos. I’m a life long Corvair person recently acquired a 64 Ghia with a Corvair motor transplant . I’m learning a new language ( VW) & your videos R a great help!
EMPI sells a kit of side cover stiffeners that works wonders in making those oil tight. It includes longer studs to install on the side covers to cover the additional thickness of the stiffeners. Well worth it. Always a great idea to (as much as possible) get rid of any dimples around the holes on the side covers and resist the temptation to over torque those fasteners (they go at 14 ft/lbs torque).
this doing it off the car & upright is THE way to go! but ive a problem: my seal carrier has no 'wall' to tap the new seal up against, how do i know how far to install it? ive done this in the past & must have just been lucky, cuz i have a BIG leak right now, any ideas anyone? (66 beetle )
Can anyone here help me out here I recently baught a dunebiggy with a seing axle tranny that was bad I changed the tranny with a used one but this one is leaking in between the tube and flange that holds the tube on its leaking into the rubber boot any fixes or is this internal leak?
