i been using my 6900xt since release, gaming at 4k is getting tough now, with new games , unreal engine 5, its almost time to upgrade. SOME games with NO upscaling at 4k, im under 60 FPS, some im at 300. Helldivers2, Space Marine, and alot of VR start to see trouble above 1440p
I think you should get a second hand red devil 6950 xt and repaste it with PTM 7950. (The 6900 XT ultimate has a weaker cooler) You don't have to repaste, but it's the only way to tame the hotspot. This allows you to OC it and run it at 330w, it can reach around 2.8 ghz, and the vram cooling on the red devil is great so you can also oc the vram, overall this makes the GPU around 15% faster than a stock 6900 XT, and it performs close to a stock 7900 XT. I don't think that's beatable in terms of finding a better value 1440p GPU.
@@kr00tman no, I bought a pre-owned box with a 6800 in it a few months ago but haven't used anything beefier. It satisfies my 1080p golf sim needs for the foreseeable future until I make the jump to 4k. That's a while off though - waiting for the laser 4k short throw projectors to come down in price in a year or two
any games that spawns alot of enemies is cpu intensive, especially when you put the Shadows on high. Thats why MMORPG's are very CPU intensives, same goes for LoL, Dota2 and other spawn heavy games like Helldivers 2. Shadows are vicious on CPU resources.
You can get something cheaper than $425 used you can buy new that will perform just as well if not better, for same or even little less in price, plus you don’t worry bout the Ray trace cause it can handle that as well.
@@kr00tman Ebay!!! Of all places! IBuyPower put up like 5-10 of em and within 4-5 hours they vanished- one left back at normal price. Methinks someone made a mistake and thought they were putting up 6800s or something. Still- i couldnt beleive it and had to live chat asap with them to see if they were legit. They said yea! So i got it! Lol lets see. The gigabyte oc aint the very best-- but still a 6900xt…. A little tweaking to make it more silent/efficient, and perfect
@@kr00tmanebay… ive no idea how… but it works wel Noisy- fans at 65% overclocked/undervolted. Gets carried by case fans and good case ventilation with ptm7950 lol but it works really well! Havent seen it go over 69C since all adjustments made.
