Coming into the back-end of winter in Australia and conditions are becoming less favorable now. I had not tried my 6GT F-Open setup at 600 metres yet, so decided to give it a run today. Conditions were windy, with a gusty headwind above 20kmph. This condition at my local range tends to produce a nasty fishtailing effect and is difficult to read. I wanted to really concentrate on my wind reading so the 6GT was a good choice. You can't really see the flags in this video as the electronic tablet blocks them, but you can hear the wind and you will see the tablet rock a few times, I had to brace it from falling over due to the gusts.
I ended up shooting a 59.3 in this first stage, and I was pretty happy although annoyed shot 9 dropped out of the 6 ring (the 10 ring for anyone in the US watching). For anyone interested, I was running Berger 109gr hybrids behind S&B small rifle primers, Alpha OCD brass and ADI2209 (H4350) powder. Velocity is around 3040fps. Stage 2 which is a 15 shot match to follow.
