This was not an ordinairy flight!
Very exciting to get a failing gps sensor at 30km out and 4km altitude!
This is the first time a Pitlab part failed on me. i wouldt blame Pitlab because the flightcontroller is around 6 or 7 years years old i believe and it made lots and lots of hours probably a 1000 hours or so.
Keep in mind this is al CGI so not real! This is not allowed to do in real live. We mixed some real shots with artificial shots.

That’s a really good question. As a LR-UAV pilot and Fixed wing pilot myself, The chances are one in a million if not more. Good pilots will have plans set up for if they have eyesight of traffic, others will also use FlightRadar24 along with their own telemetry and have another person on their laptop monitoring both. Some systems can have that option as an add on. Then there are those that are just plain ignorant of the whole idea that safety is a top priority. But we do our best to ensure mistakes like that don’t happen.

Good Job bringing it home after a failure. I had a similar incident recently losing a motor in flight, but since it's a twin made it back from 5km away. it happened at the worst moment, as I was pretty low alt, and motor with ESC became dislodged, and dangling from wires. also took out flap link on same side, so flap was in up position on the dead side. plane flew remarkably well.

Its really a 4S 40k mAh battery?! Lipo or Li-ion? Link? Or is it a homebuilt pack? What kind of range do you get out of something like that? What's your personal best for distance so far? And what was the limiting factor? battery? video? Comms/Telemetry? Awesome flight!
@itsnotme1295
@itsnotme1295 10 месяцев назад
I combine different sizes pack all home build and connect them al in parallel. Biggest pack i got is a 4s 30000mah. The max i flown it with is 4s 60.000mah. 4s 30.000mah pack a 4s 15.000 a 4s 10000mah and a 5000mah all together. Personal record with this plane is 110km out, 300km ground covered and i believe 4,5 hours flighttime easy. The big brother Crosswind Nimbus pro carry around 75.000mah so far and did 117 km out and i believe 5 hours 400km ground covered. Im pretty confident he can do 150km out and 6,5 hours flying. Im building my way up so i find new problems on time when flying so long and so far like flightcontrollers that freaked out because of long runtimes and out of video range enz. Enz. Limiting factor? Fear man it got me every time thats why im slowly pushing it farther out every flight. 🙈 All flown with Crossfire mainly on 1 watt! Soon i need 2 watts... Crossfire is better then Dragonlink these days some laugh about that but come on the proof is here. Thanks man! I think soon im gonna share some more distance stuff 🤞😎

for some reason I thought your crosswind mini was a 6s setup. interesting that you're using a 4s setup , do you mind sharing your motor , prop and esc , with the rest of us ? thanks
@itsnotme1295
@itsnotme1295 11 месяцев назад
Nope. There's no difference in efficiency and 4s is more versatile. My big Crosswind got 600kv motors on 4s with 12x10 props instead of 12 amps on 1000kv he's cruising on 7.5 amps right know. Crosswind Mini got aikon 30a sefm esc's. MFD Mytwindream 800kv 2814 motors. (it is really the model of the motor) And 10x6 apc props.

Holy crap, this is really scary. It happened to me a few months ago when I triggered the return home feature and suddenly all the satellites disappeared. On that occasion, I was using iNav, and the plane initiated an emergency landing. I noticed the problem and I could assume the control again. After that, I never flew the plane without assistance again.

RC and private pilot here. This was very risky, not just to you losing your plane, but to other small aircraft as well. Hitting your RC in flight is like a bird strike, and could lead to very bad consequences and possible loss of life. PLEASE do not fly like this. I'm not sure what country you are in, but your local air traffic control might work with you if you put a transponder on it so they can track where you are. You probably need a flight plan. There are better ways to do this, my friend. Dad/Pilot hat aside, it is very impressive you were able to go so far with that little thing. Ignoring the safety aspect, that was very cool on a technological level.
@itsnotme1295
@itsnotme1295 2 месяца назад
Thank we use a transponder and we have contact with the control tower non stop and a whole team is monitoring the manned flights in this area. We arent allowed to do this on days the airforce practice because they fly incognito we dont want to risk any lives. Those flights are planned and licensed as any other manned flights. We are doing many unmanned aircraft flights, experiments and development. I dont share any results or details to protect my company and to prevent others to this in an uncontrolled manner. We have some more safety features i dont want to share. Many thanks i love to do this but theres nothing better than flying in person.
