6th Largest Mosque in the World in Jakarta, Indonesia 🇮🇩

3:30 if you see it at the background, across the Istiqlal Mosque are Jakarta Cathedral Church (has two twin tower as you can see in the background), its an old and classic church in Jakarta Indonesia. This Istiqlal mosque project was designed by Friedrich Silaban, the fifth son of a traditional Lutheran pastor who is better known by the name Huria Kristen Batak Protestan, namely Pdt. Jonas Silaban. The design of this mosque carries the theme "Divinity. The nice thing about this is both the Istiqlal Mosque and Catedhral Church area so near symbolize harmony and friendship between Moslem and Christians. In this world full of hate, i hope this symbolize peace between all religions.

I'm an indo-chinese Christian, but this Salawat at 8:48 always makes me cry every time I hear it, and I love it!. They say you can listen to it five times a day before praying. Every time I go to the cathedral, I always take the time to stop by Istiqlal to just sit there.

Istiqlal is one of the best mosque ive ever been into. What i like the most is how it is next to a church and the two has helped each other in times of needs, ie when one would need parking place for their special day occasion, the other would lend their parking lot.

I know this mosque when my idol player OZIL visited there.. Beautiful country, love from 🇮🇳 People there see friendly 💕💕

The Istiqlal Mosque was designed in 1954 by Frederich Silaban, a Christian architect from North Sumatra. To build the mosque, it took 17 years. Built under Sukarno's administration, the construction was personally supervised by the president himself. The idea for the need of a national mosque was inspired by Muslim leader KH Wahid Hashim and executed by Cokro Aminoto, then minister for religious affairs. The word Istiqlal comes from Arabic that means "Independence." The name is a reminder of Indonesia’s struggle for national Independence and the Istiqlal was built to memorialize it

Did you know this Istiqlal mosque architech he was a Christian, and there are underground tunnel that connects to the church from this mosque. So you don't need to crossing the road from mosque to the cathedral church.
