They won on the battlefield (not DBP) but intern french politics killed any possible total victory. They let Army die there because Left refused to support and supply indochina troops And you know they won because US used same tactics in AFG 40 years later ! ( concept of FOB's)

Ever heard of the battle of Dien Bien Phu? it was definitely a tactical defeat for the French. Vietnam will forever stay Vietnamese no matter wat so don’t say such nonsense.
