They missed Carmen Zapata who was in both Sister Act and Sister Act 2 as one of the choir nuns. Also known as the First Lady of the Hispanic theater. She died in 2014.
Of course, they won't mention a Latino or Latina. Here's why, and it's a proven Fact and I am not wrong about this and I can GUARANTEE this. Nowadays, movies have either african-american, caucasian, southeast asians. This includes horror, action, suspense, and drama movies don't debate on this or you can and will lose
Really that's amazing, the movie is amazing and adorable, I just can't stop watching the movie....by the way nice meeting you on here, I hope you are having a wonderful time out there ??????
Both movies are classic! I don't know which one I like better. However I own both on dvd and I just enjoy both and have no beef with any of them. I will say that I'm glad Maggie's Smith character lightened up and was happier in the sequel. In the first movie she used to scare me as a kid because of how crabby she was alot of the time. She played the same type of character as Miss Matlock in The Secret Garden.
Mary Wickes was a legend she done so many movies I remember her in Abott & Costello movie. She made me laugh as a kid. I'm 62 now. All the best 👍 South Australia
How could we ever forget Ellen Dow! She was brilliant as Robbie's old lady voice student in The Wedding Singer. "I said, hip, hop, the hippa to the hippie The hip hip hop, you don't stop rock"
Was she in the Fruit of the Loom commercials, or was that someone else? The old Dunkin' Donut commercials, where a little lady said, "Fresh!" The Golden Girls episode where Sophia and Rose break Lillian out of a poorly-run nursing home?
Really ?? I was talking about her with my sister no later than yesterday😥! We were also wondering if she was the grandma in My girl with Anna Chlumsky...
@@Flinabin No, that was Ann Nelson. She was on the tv show Fame and she was the old Jewish lady in Airplane! who hanged herself because Ted wouldn't stop talking, lol.
Remember that Mary Wicks also played a nun in the 60s movie "The Trouble with Angels" and it's sequel "Where Angels go, Trouble Follows" with Rosalind Russell playing Mother Superior
We have lost so many great actors....with long careers....i grew up watching most of them.....they gave us so much entertainment & they will be missed......RIP
Mary Hicks can be also seen in the Christmas Movie White Christmas starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Michael Jeter also played different characters on the Kids Tv show Sesame Street. I remember one role he played on Sesame Street. The character name was Mr. Noodle. Mr. Noodle was on the segment called Elmo's World.
She was also in the 1943 movie, Higher and Higher with Jack Haley, Frank Sinatra, Victor Borge, and a *VERY* young Mel Torme, who was only about 17 or 18 years old!
I remember Ellen Dow from an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark. She played the old lady that the Tale of the Jagged Sign episode was centered around. The jagged sign was actually an unfinished painting of a white dove. Ellen’s character’s boyfriend went up on a very high ledge to paint that white dove as a symbol of their love when the two of them were young, however, before he could finish, he fell off the ledge and died. He spirit remained in the area near that ledge and when she passed away, the two of them were finally reunited, his spirit was finally at rest, and somehow, that painting finally finished. One of my favorite episodes of one of my favorite tv shows. RIP Ellen Dow.
One of the best movies of all time. Whoopi Goldberg, Maggie Smith & many others, were are fantastic in this show. I have watched this show so many times, I lost count. It is a movie that will make you laugh no matter how many times you watch it. :)
NOOOOOOOOOO NOT MR. CRISP,FATHER IGNATIOUS N FATHER MOURICE N ALMA THEY WHERE 4 OF MY MANY FAVORITE’S NUN/MALE NUN’S/PRINCIPLE/SUPER INTENDENT ON THE SHOW❤😢😮 R.I.PEACE PARADISE N PRAYERFUL POWER TO ALL 4 OF U N THE OTHER THREE PEOPLE TOO
Mary Wicks who played Sister Mary Lazarus was also a nun Sister Clarissa in Where Angels Go Trouble Follows. In that movie she also drove the bus the scene when the bus was stuck on the railroad tracks with a train coming is just too funny. It was released in 1968 and when she did Sister Act 1 she looked just like she did in 68 had to be that nun outfit.
No doubt, that’s why Sister Mary Lazarus was scripted to drive the bus-an Easter Egg before they were common knowledge and anticipated! Good catch; thank you for sharing.
I'm am so surprised the 3 sister act is going to be in works yet they was discussed if it will happen if I hope I can offer myself to join this production and be in cast and I love to share things and beautiful it seems I hope sister act 3 is going to launch soon I love to see where this goes rita done by lauren hill I want to see her and others whoopi you are amazing to you at end of last movie you quote to head mother in her ear and she said then the school will not closed and you said "you owe me" and you are so happy you want to be somebody you want to go somewhere you better wake up and pay attention and to me you woke me up whoopi (sister Mary Clarence) lol you are a great person who gots it together sister you are genuine and loveable and witty yet don't take bs yet teach me and you learn from the best whoopi and rest of the cast break a leg and best wishes on success on the 3 sister act you be blessed
I first saw Ms. Dow in an hilarious episode of “ Designing Women” when Julia ( Sugarbaker ) had to do jury duty. Dow was her room mate while they were sequestered and Julia -frustrated that no verdict had been reached causing a delay with her dinner appointment with Jimmy Carter-mentioned she didn’t appreciate Dow’s character putting her” June Allyson bladder pads ( Depends ) on the nightstand for all to see !”
I absolutely love both of the Sister Act movies so with Sister Act 3 I hope they do a very nice memoriam for these actors that are gone. Thank you for this wonderful video
good video , you missed one actor that won’t be in the next sister act movie , he was a undercover cop in the movie if you remember this guy , because he is familiar to me because i’ve seen him in the Spiderman movies as Robbie Robertson , he died september 24, 2016 he was 62 years old when he died the actor’s name is Bill Nunn his role in the sister act movie was lieutenant Eddie Souther
It would be so cool if Ms Lauryn Hill reprised her role as Rita who has become a famous musician and must now came back to work with Sister Mary Clarence to help the current generation of students
1:00 Mary Wickes also played a nun/school bus driver in The Trouble With Angels...and its sequel Where Angels Go Trouble Follows...and also co-starred with Barnard Hughes in the 1975 TV series Doc
Sister act & sister act 2: back in the habit were not the only times Mary Wickes crossed paths with the church she also played Marie Gillespie, Father Dowling's housekeeper in the Father Dowling Mysteries.
So basically the actors who played the characters who would be dead 30 years later anyway, have passed away. Good to know, I guess. A lot of great talent there, though.
I can't believe I was 12 when this movie came out, I just turned 40 in December. Boy time is really moving. My sister, who was 5 and I wore our VHS of this movie OUT. Rest In Heaven to all that have passed 🙏💜
It sure does! I'm turning 38 this year, and watched these movies with my family as a kid. (My dad LOVES these movies). I'm so excited to watch the 3rd installment. Hopefully they don't butcher it. BUT Tyler Perry is producing it, and I have yet to see a movie I dislike by him. (He helped produce all the Madea Movies he starred in too)
Mary Wicks also played a nun and drove the bus in The Trouble With Angels. Mary Wicks is also in White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. How did you miss this?!!?? It's Micheal GEE-TER, not JET-ER
Oh wow I didn’t know that. I saw a video where they say “gee-dah”. Unfortunately RU-vid doesn’t allow you to replace a video, you have to delete and reupload and doing that you lose everything.
Thank you so much for this because these were truly inspired actors and they are missed. I never knew what happened to Eldon I just knew that he had passed away and my beloved show Murphy Brown would never be the same without him.
Awesome! I loved seeing the actors' previous works / younger selves. And I've always loved the Wedding Singer grandma!!! What a surprise that she ws one of the nuns in Sister Act!!! She is a hero, living such an amazing long life!!!
Rip to all of the wonderful actors and actresses. I am going to be 56 in June and I personally love God & Jesus but I am scared of death and don't want to die. I love making my wife and many friends smile and laugh, the thought of death and people crying because of me saddens me deeply. I made my wife cry once and it absolutely broke my heart and I have never done that again. My best friend Denise, I have seen her cry before and it made me cry very hard! Denise is a loving soul and she lives in her heart and that's a mighty large place to be. The cards are stacked against me, I'm a Diabetic and I smoke and neuropathy in my feet hurts something terrible even with medication. I deal with pain often but I can deal with pain before the thought of passing ...... I don't want to sadden anyone and please just let me go the same time that my wife goes, so that my love for life can be by my side forever.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart ♥ there is no pain. Infact, your last breath on earth is your 1st breath in your spirit form... It's in a blink of an eye and scientifically also, our bodies don't feel pain or discomfort or even suffer in death. You fear the unknown. God created our bodies to die and they are a designed to die which is why you feel no pain. Study has found, particularly in cancer patients, and science said that our brains release feel good hormones called endorphins during death which is why everyone is always relaxed when dying and feel no pain. There is also a huge surge of euphoria. Like Jesus said, Don't fear death for I'm only in the other room, besides your still young! Remember, The Lord said fear is of the enemy Satan. Turn to God with your worries and speak to him. Tell him your fears and he will give you rest ❤
This was a cute film. I'm SO happy the terrific series, Moonlighting's FINALLY being shown (on Prime Video), and, if you're a fan of it, you might recall the 2nd series evening was Camille, and the gust was Ms Whoopi G, herself, playing - you guessed it - a con artist. I always thought the makers of Sister act might've incorporated some 'Camille' into the Sister Act film's Deloris. Regardless, if you like Whoopi, and/or the Sister Act film(s), I highly recommend the series, Moonlighting, and for those uninitiated - start with Camille, and it's pre-title opening of the 'devil with the blue dress'. You'll have a good time.
The woman standing between Lucy and Vivian Vance is not Mary Wicks. That woman is an actress of course, just not Mary Wicks. Two things: 1. Her nose, and 2. She doesn’t look anything like Mary Wicks.
Sister act3? That would be an SJW anti God movie. Probably jab at consevatives and be a gay movie or pro abortion and shoot it in China. How on earth would Whoopie wear a nun's dress again? She would burn now once she enters a Catholic Church again. Do it again Whoopie it would be the next biggest flop in Hollywood like all female Ghostbusters. Ha ha
Our life have come so far and when I look back I'm so thankful and this is such a beautiful tribute to all of the amazing actors and actress who have passed away
Mary Wickes would've been 112 James Coburn would've been 94 Michael Jeter would've been 70 Robert Pastorelli would've been 68 Bernard Hughes would've been 107 Brad Sullivan would've been 91 Ellen Dow would've been 109
Isn't it precious when God gives one a second chance, hoping it will make a difference in their lives? The actor's in this first film were truly awesome and absolutely made the film! They will be remembered for many years to come!
93?!! 😂 😂 OMG! I remember this like it was yesterday. I watched this movie a thousand times and used to practice his solo in “O’Happy Day”. I miss those days with all my soul.
To round out the series - also gone from the first movie there's Bill Nunn as Lt Eddie Souther and Joseph Mahr as Bishop O'Hara. They were instrumental to the first installment.
