@@TheGebs24 Yes, the BEST memories. Also, it was state of the art of computers at the time and we were having a blast playing games such as Kick Boxer 2, Barbarian 2, IK+, New Zealand Story, Rick Dangerous, and F-18 Interceptor.
Globule is impressive in terms of achievement. That Mario Galaxy gravity is not easy to do. Premiere, Arabian Nights and Traps N Treasures are decently the best of the list. Traps was done by one person. Amazing.
About 2 months ago I stumbled across this channel by accident, it reawoke my retro Amiga love when I was a kid. Hence to say I have am Amiga 500 Amiga coming on Xmas day...Best You Tube find ever...Roll on Xmas Day!!!
I got an amiga back in the early 90s and what a time to be alive. It was the cartoon classics pack and I was hooked on it. I had played on many other computers and consoles back then but the amiga just blow everything else apart for me. The music in some of the games alone was worth a purchase. When I think back to that time a spent hours on. Alien Breed, Roadrash, Assassin, Shadow of the beast 2.... The intro to that was amazing.... Super Frog 🐸, Traps and treasures, flashback, Arabian Nights.... I Could go on all night. Ooooo Curse of enchantia 👌. Them where the care free days 🙂
thank you and congratulations again, gemma for all these little gems ... and for sharing your passion with us. all these platform games are amazing just like you.... kisses from France💝💝
If I could only have one Amiga from your list, it would have to be the A1200. With the A1200, you have the AGA chipset, plus the option to add an accelerator / RAM expansion card (such as the TerribleFire TF1230) and a compact flash hard drive with WHDLoad installed. With that, you then have a decently fast machine plus access to (almost) the entire Amiga library.
For anyone interested on who developed what: Kid Chaos - Magnetic Fields Globdule - Ex Animo Designs Marvin’s Marvellous Adventures - Infernal Byte Systems Arabian Nights - Krisalis Software Premiere - The 8th Day/Core Design Woodys World - Vision Software Traps 'N' Treasures - Nightingale
Great video Gemma. I always love Amiga related stuff. I had Arabian Nights for my CD32 back in the day. Never heard of the others in your video. If I had only one machine to keep it would be the Amiga 1200. But I own all the models anyway because Amiga was the best by far and I have a lot of nostalgia for them.
@@TheGebs24 threw my original CD32 in the bin when commodore went bust. ☹️. Luckily I got another years ago before the prices went crazy. Now with a terriblefire card you can play all Amiga games on it now. Just add a mouse and keyboard.
I LOVED Arabian Nights. Based on this list, you might enjoy Fire & Ice if you've not already tried it out. Combination of platforms, graphics and sound that fits in with the others you mention here
I'm so surprised Sega didn't take action against Kid Chaos😂Even the animation when he hits the spikes looks lifted from it. All the games here look pretty decent. Traps 'n' Treasures in particular is very interesting. Great video as always Gemma
yeah never really gave it much of a look before because of the awful main character, but if ever anyone wanted to know if the Amiga could do a Sonic game, this is pretty much proof it could. Same kind of level design, bounce pads, animation, movement inertia, collapsing platforms. Pretty sure you could replace the main sprite with sonic and be 90% there. (of course this is more about destruction but add the rings and you are pretty much there)
Oh, and I'm firmly the A500 crowd. While the a1200 does remove a bunch of limitations, it was those limitations that made some games what they were. For every game that was built with the a1200 in mind, every other game was the same as the a500 one but with more colours
Amiga 500 (batman pack) is what got ne into gaming, IT However Cd32 with the sx1 module gives you the ultimate amiga so has to be that, still shudder to think how bad it got when escom bought them out, next iteration of the Amiga (2400 and cd64) could have competed with early Pentium's and at a fraction of the price
Hard choice but for me would be Amiga CD32 as ultimate body blows had some great music. Check out my test drive remix if you not heard it. Free download.
SPEEDBALL 2!! enough said and that shooter where your an owl or a hawk or something and don't trust reviews from Amiga magazines there literally bought and paid for rant over. In answer to your question why was the 3000 not in the list
If I could have a cd32 with the terrible fire and the keyboard and mouse, I would choose to have it over the 1200. The cd32 is the best way to play Amiga games, either by real hardware or emulation, no disk swap.
@@TheGebs24 thank you for reply and this video was helpful got myself a500 mini today also big fan and and well jealous of all TMNT mech u got 😩✌️ keep it up
