I have a cool undertone, so traditional autumn warm-toned colors don’t suit me that well. I’m happy to finally see some cooler browns this year, warm cognac and camels dominated for a decade. I do love those warm browns, too, but use them more in accessories, so they don’t cast an unflattering yellowish cast onto my skin. I had a similar issue with all those warm beiges, I love that cooler taupe beiges are now available.
I have the same problem, I'm a cool winter. For years I could find clothes in colours that suited me, until warm toned colours became in fashion about 10 years ago and stayed. Now I mostly wear white, cream, navy, red, blue plus pink and green if I can find them in the right shade. I never wear warm browns, oranges etc as they are not flattering on me.
Same! I’m a dark winter. I lean into burgundy and plum but use a lot of cool taupe and purple toned browns to mix it up. I can do select dark autumn colors but it’s hit or miss. For instance, some oranges can work but it’s tricky.
Helen I really really obsessed with your style so so so much and thank you for sharing this video you are my inspiration and I wish you have a wonderful day always😀💫💖
You packed so much information in this video, I'm going to have to re-watch it. Love your style. I'm in the NW of the US and am so looking forward to Autumn!
Although I love your content it Took me a while to subscribe as I think our age gap is too much and I thought it might not be relevant! However the more I watch, the more I like your well thought content and realize classic approach can survive time … thank you, Helen!!
Quality content as usual! I must say you've got me thinking about texture lately, I've never really been concerned about it, but you're showing some of the possibilities of playing with it. I'm really pleased that the rib knits are in more than the cable knits now - not because they are old school, but because I am busty and short waisted, and those bulky cable knits make me look even bigger on top compared to my long skinny legs! I find the rib more flattering on me.
This video could not have been more perfect today :) We're getting a 2nd kind of fall day in Oregon, and I'm bored of my spring/summer capsule wardrobe. Beautiful analysis for color, texture, and shape. Thanks so much~
SO MUCH value in this video! I loved seeing how to dress autumnal while also suiting my cool undertone. I also have a better understanding of why I'm not liking any of my knits and how they just aren't giving the same vibe as the pintrest images i'm pinning, despite looking similar. Thank you for sharing all of these tips and keep up the quality content :))
I've been obsessed with fall colouring I still have no idea what looks good on me color-wise but I'm trying, what I've been doing is picking summer pieces so like linens and really lightweight pants in Fall colours and it's been a lot of fun dressing that way during summer. Transitional weather is tricky, and we need all the help we can get!
Thank you Helen!!! You’re a real gem on RU-vid and you’re giving such great advice regarding personal style and fashion. I love how you’re focusing on really getting those quality basics which we can wear long term (and not trends!!) and also styling them in a way that is so fresh! Such a sustainable approach and also one can really hone their personal style this way. You’ve tremendously helped me so far.
I'm obsessed with the look at 6:43! Gonna try recreating it with what im having right now but I think imma search for a similar short sleeve-tweed. Thanks and hope to learn more from u!
This is so helpful! I hope it's OK to ask for advice here (perhaps from other commenters too?) I was thinking of buying a taller pair of boots to wear with my cropped and barrel style jeans. I don't like wearing them with ankle boots because the leg shows as soon as I sit down. So I want to try a taller boot. However, as a petite (5'3) I am not sure what is a flattering boot height? Many many thanks!
Great! Especially the part on knitwear. I think your knitting projects have helped you recognize those details. Are you still knitting? Thanks again for your wonderful videos.
@@DailyHelenJ just a wild idea: how about one video to talk about proportions and silhouette? Especially for petite girls, how to wear oversized items without looking like we're drowning in fabrics
You should wear minis, in my opinion, you have great legs. Show them off and enjoy them! I wish I had done this more in my youth, and just generally showed my shape a bit more, when it was so perfect. I’m not taking about tight clothes, I don’t like at all, just ones that skim the body. Thanks for another great video❤
Hi! Thanks so much for these videos. I always find inspiration and great tips that I bring into my own wardrobe. I love the navy blazer you pair with your houndstooth jacket (time 7:21) Where is it from??
I hate summer and am longing for autumn weather. I find it difficult to feel chic in my summer clothes, most of which are linen, even cotton is too hot when it’s 90 to 100 +F. I can’t wait to wear my leather boots, silk tops, cashmere sweaters, blazers, quilted jackets, tweed, tartan, etc. again. Autumn is my favorite fashion season, but autumn weather arrives late here in California, around the beginning of November. Meanwhile, I’m dreaming of cool, foggy mornings and autumn leaves❤
Hello Helen! How do you like the croco sexane bag? Its on my wishlist together with classic Milo in ecru. Cannot deside between the 2. I feel that the croco one will be too small and the ecru one will be too sensitive
