is it possible to change the target temperature in wich will throttle a computer with terminal command?
@AppleNinja
@AppleNinja Год назад
I was looking into this and was thinking maybe with pmset, but it does not look like you can change it. You can use the pmset -g therm, which if the Mac is hot and shows less than 100 for CPU_Speed_Limit then the Mac is throttling.

Hello! Is it easy to find a guide of all these commands? Where? Thanks…

There are several Bash and Mac Command Line books out there That you could use. I like to list out all the commands on a mac and look at the man (manual) page for each. # Below two commands will list out the executables on the Mac. ls /usr/bin/ ls /usr/sbin/ # To view manual for command type man command name Good luck and if you find an awesome command you really like please share. Take care bud

Networkquality didn't work for me neither did software update-l don't know what appleninja's on but it's better than what I'm on

are these for bash? zsh doesn't seem to be working. specifically for NetworkQuality, and email. How do you switch to bash anyway?
@AppleNinja
@AppleNinja 3 года назад
I ran all these commands in ZSH and just realized that the networkQuality is only available on MacOS Monterey, so it’s brand new! I tried copying the command to Catalina and Big Sur just now and it does not work as it’s missing a dyld library.

@@AppleNinja Thank you! Got bored after trying about 32 different variations. Thank you for the response.

@@AppleNinja Oh, also, thought the $ sign meant bash, the % meant zsh? That's what my MBP seems to show.
@applecheeseboy
@applecheeseboy 3 года назад
@@Greg-fg1rd My device on Monterey also is showing % and my default is zsh, so you are correct. If you type "bash" into your command line you will change contexts to bash, and you'll see the $ appear!

I tried the command "networkQuality" in my terminal and it just said "command not found".. I'm running Big Sur. It there an issue?
@AppleNinja
@AppleNinja 2 года назад
Sorry Julian that is a new command in macOS Monterey. Couple weeks and Monterey will be out, you upgrading?
@007Knightjp

@@AppleNinja I would definitely do it. However I don't think that my mac is supported. It is quite an old system and I think the Big Sur is the final supported release. However I am considering of getting one of the M1 mac Minis as a replacement.
