From the first moment I saw Dagan play a video for this channel, I thought "who is this guy" and the I thought "why does this guy entertain and inform so well". And I kept coming back for all of his reviews. Greatness!
Some of these guitar store RU-vid channels have really phenomenal players showcasing their instruments. Check out Michael Lemmo from Norman’s Rare Guitars. He and Dagan make great salesmen!
Dagan never fails to cheer me up with his positive energy on these videos! I've got the Ibanez GRGR221 and the build is wonderful for the price, but the pickups are its weak point so I replaced them. The ceramics in this GRG220 model sound a lot more lively. I probably wouldn't go to wild on that trem though! Thanks for the reviews and promos this year and I wish everyone at PMTV a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎄
Thanks for all the hard work you put in bringing us awesome reviews Dagan. I really appreciate it. Looking forward to another great year of awesome reviews on guitars and gear. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and everyone over at PMTV🎸🤘🏻
Mister Dagan, you should have a TV show all about guitars ! Your reviews are always good fun to watch. Entertaining AND also great reviews. Merry Christmas to all.
I sometimes miss the love for ESP LTD guitars, which are (still affordable) like the EC-256. But, I understand that you could have easily extended this video with many more guitars. Back in the days (1993-1997), I was a vocalist in a band and the guitars I saw were Gibsons, Epiphones, Fender and BC Rich. Everything else was more or less rubbish, when it came to quality and playability. Even the Epiphones felt cheap. 3 years ago I got my first electric guitar and I was astonished how well it played without Gibson, Fender on the headstock. Beginners indeed live in better times.
Ibanez made great guitars in the 90s as well, but there's definitely a huge range of great budget guitars these days. I recently bought a Harley Benton SC 550 II and it's incredibly well built and spec'd for 300 bucks. It's a a legit players guitar.
Squier has truly up to their game since I was a whipper snapper, and anybody who is looking to get an electric, get the model of electric that made you want to learn, I mean it doesn't have to be the exact same model but if you liked Jimmy at Woodstock get a white stripe with maple neck, if you like led Zeppelin live DVD get the cheery burst epiphone Les Paul, and if you just want a good electric guitar I would say you can't go wrong with anything in the $500 Ibanez range... Ibanez and PRS is in my opinion objectively the best guitar you can get for the price
@@piinku_ Does it still serve you well? My first guitar was the slightly cheaper GRX70QA Ibanez GIO and i cannot say i've had that great of an experience with it.
@@kynoVNs yeahhh its been amazing, i mean honestly id suggest just going to a music store irl and playing different guitars, see which one suits ur style, ask about what the workers think about them because they gave me amazing advice when i was picking out stuff. but yeah back to this guitar, i love it, it sounds awesome (but obv also depends on the amp) and the whammy works perfectly in my opinion. looks wise also still personally coolest looking guitar ive seen up to date haha.
I’ve got the Ibanez AZES 40. It is the most versatile, best playing, tone machine, and was less than $349 or £279. It’s got hss setup with coil tapping and splitting. It has phase switching, and series/parallel. All with great build quality. Crazy right? You gotta try one.
I DID get a 2023 Fender Sonic Telecaster Esquire H in Arctic White---and LOVE everything about it. But my all time favorite (this year) 2023 buy was a new Fender Squier Affinity Telecaster Deluxe in Burgandy Mist 'crafted' in 2021 but never left the shelves until I got it. Holy balls does that thing sing. Both under the $200 USD (shipped) umbrella, because I wait for a deal (usually Holidays in the US). There are great guitars to be had for cheap; just gotta shop around and wait for the right opportunity.
One cool little thing about that Ibanez Gio is it has a sliding truss rod cover where you do not have to remove the screws on the truss rod cover to adjust the truss rod.
i love modding cheap budget guitarsi bought a squire changed out the picks up 200 bucks invested total about 400 guitar plus the pick ups and it sounds freaking great
I only demo the stuff I like, and that I can give my best possible demo of. If the video was “7 best cheap guitars Dagan thinks sucks” I don’t think it’d go down that great
Squier guitars are great but EastCoast are astonishingly good value. I bought an EastCoast LP gold top copy just to play around with at home and I was amazed by it, I regularly gig with it now.
Agreed, i have the black n gold LP from Eastcoast and also the Antiquity black guard Tele. They are absurdly high quality guitarsfor the price. Ive played and owned some beautiful and eye wateringly expensive guitars including an original 72 Tele custom, 69 LP, a sublime AVRI 57 reissue Strat and blah blah lblah. Im still reeling from the E.C Les though i keep waiting for a dissapointment to appear but its not gonna happen. I swear it totally embarrasses Gibson when you consider the price i paid(150 for a b stock with a wonky truss rod cover!!) :-D and 109 quid for the Tele!! I mean reeeaaallly!!?? :-o There is something very iffy and slightly confusing in the space between the price of these guitars.
My recommendation is Sunsmile guitars, with baked maple neck, stainless steel medium frets, burl poplar and mahogany body, dual humbucker for less than $200 dls. smooth!
The string action on the first guitar I ever owned, was so high that I could have slipped a deck of cards behind the 12th fret. The guitar had no truss rod.
I picked up a Schecter omen elite 6 and it’s the best guitar I’ve owned for under $1,000 Australian Dollarydoos. Everything you said in your review of the guitar was spot on.
Should check out the firefly ffsps version of the gibson les paul. I dont think you'll be disappointed. They are a budget guitar around 230-300 dollars.
Wow!! Antiquity rule!! Squier rule too!! Oh and Prs totally rule just like Epiphone do!! (mostly) whilst i feel like i should like the prs most (being a huge Strat guy) im loving the gnarly lil'Jjunior, its like a little angry terrier, its fantastic!
I have the paranormal custom Nashville stratocaster from Squier. That thing stock is friggin good for $600 cad. And after a few upgrades it just not fair. I have a GEM, '91 Les Paul studio, '81 fender Stratocaster, fender custom and was a huge name brand snob. Until my buddy needed money and offered to sell me that Nashville Strat. I can't put the damn thing down.
When i saw the white Les Paul i thought it was the Epiphone LP custom till I saw the headstock. Wow that’s another level of affordable. Hahaha you do know no one outdid the north east will know what claggy means lol
But yeah get the model of guitar that originally made you want to learn, get something that you love the look of and that you love how it looks on you, the loving the guitar is more important than the model
Please could you review the yamaha Pacifica 112J with or without the positive Grid go 🙏 has I'm thinking of getting it at 54 any advice would be appreciated 🙏🙏
Hate to say it but I must.. and with all due respect. But that ultra high gain sound is pretty much the same no matter what guitar is used, I'd bet a cigar box guitar would be close to a $4,000 Les Paul . So that said it's good to hear the less gain tones so the actual sound of the guitar can be assessed.
I think the way the guitar market has shifted up and down multiple times in the last 5 years, the definition of "cheap" has moved around quite a bit. Under say $400 is still gonna be slim pickings. The $500-$1000 range has exploded with almost unlimited choices. The Silver Sky SE doesn't really fall into this category. Sure they've been heavily discounted recently, and even the DGT is selling for under $1000 now. But PRS isn't generally thought of as "cheap". It's definitely in the mid teir range. What's the difference between a HB and an Antiquity guitar?
That would be a bit redundant, lol. Dagan has made his love of Kramer guitar well known. Berettas especially, shocked he doesn't have a sig model yet. 😊
@@leviathan_is_me how do you figure that would be redundant to a person looking on RU-vid for information on the best cheap guitars and they stumble on this video having not ever seen Dagan or any other guitar reviewer before. Maybe a parent ( that has no experience with guitars) looking for a good cheap guitar for a child expressing interest in playing. I am well aware Dagan loves Kramer guitars. That is why I made my comment. The air is fresher when you take your head out of your behind. Lol
@@greyman334 ....wow, hit a nerve sweetheart? Perhaps if you would like to climb down off that judgemental high horse you seem to be on (that would also require you to remove yourself from the stick on the saddle that seems firmly planted up your rear) you could plainly tell it was an obvious joke of a post made in good spirits. With the whole lols' & the comment on the signature model being the punchline (notice the cute little guy smiling it up there? Look at him so happy). However you seem to take things as a personal affront to mystery people who have stumbled upon a random video and would thus read every comment and might stumble upon something they don't DARE to understand...oh no. Dude calm down, stop worrying so much and maybe, just maybe you might accidentally NOT be a....well....you. ✌️ Edit: I am sure your going to spend minutes replying angrily and rant on with a diatribe FULL of wit and irony. I wouldn't... Not really a hill to fight on, friend.
AWESOME video🤩 I really want to get one of these electric guitars🤩 Btw what amplifier do you use?😮 😃Also subscribed and hit the notification bell so I won't miss a video😄 I hope you'll have a nice day😄
Had never heard of Antiquity guitars but look decent .I'm only put off by the fact there are no independent reviews anywhere for these guitars so wont be buying one just yet .Maybe your company should ship them out to other reviewers on youtube that don't have a vested interest?
Humm. Let me see if I can put this in order.. #1: Antiquity LSC1 ? .. Nah. #2: Squier Sonic Stratocaster ?.. Not likely. #3: Ibanez GIO GRG220- PA1 ? A possibility. #4: Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Junior ? ..How much? F#(k That !! #5: Squier Paranormal Series ? .. Nope. #6: Antiquity TL1-HB ? wow looks like a Telecaster... No ! #7: PRS SE Silver Sky, Maple Neck. How much ? lol ? P-retty R-ich or S-tupid ? .. To buy this one. Made in Vietnam Probably at the IVY plant. Paying for a name. Just like that BJ Armstrong Epi. That's 100% Clown Shoe Bu!!$h!t I love Green Day; and I still wont lay out that kind of money for an off shore made Epiphone. Dude? You need to widen your horizons' as far as budget friendly/cheap guitars go
