It’s perhaps a bit niche and kinda taps into your everything works/CoH having the perfect size but what i love, love love is the CPH airport infrastructure: super well connected to train, metro and highway. It’s fast to get to from the city and cheap (as in no extra train ticket fare etc). The airport itself is not too large but still offers plenty of destinations. Icing on the cake: In the airport every restroom has at least one faucet for cold drinking water. I haven’t been to 135 countries (yet) but from all the airports, CPH ranks super high.
@@jaspeb9553 The Metro and the train connection from Hovedbanegården (central station) has made that possible. Before those two options were made available, it was not as simple. You had to rely on family, friends, bus or an expensive taxi. One of the unique things about Copenhagen is definitely the infrastructure for especially bicycles. This is again something that has developed over the years but the work of making bicycle lanes in Copenhagen actually started as early as back in the 1930s. There are very few, if any, main roads in Copenhagen today that do not have bicycle lanes. It may come as a surprise but even something like Strøget was not always only for pedestrians. Using a bicycle to commute makes a lot of sense in Copenhagen. It's cheap and healthy. What surprises many foreigners is when they spend a winter in Denmark for the first time, finding out that Danes commute on bicycles in any weather, sun, rain, wind or snow. It should probably also be added that the fact that you can take a swim in the harbour today has cost a lot of money and effort. When I was a child, you definitely did not want to take a dip in the harbour. Although, the national sport is to complain about the taxes, only few Danes would actually like to do without all the things they actually get access to from paying their taxes.
Great video, i really enjoy your many videos, keep them coming :) on a slight side note, i am looking for new glasses and i like the shape and color of yours :) would you might share if they are bought in Denmark and if so what brand ?
It's harder to make friends with Danes in Denmark than with locals in Latin America, Southern Europe, Asia, etc. No doubt it. You just need to put more effort, but it's 100% possible.
I'm sensitive to high air pollution. The AQI numbers dont look so good but they're only one part of the story. Whats your experience with this? thansk SO much
I would be careful to claim that any place is cheap in Copenhagen, but that being said, Islands Brygge is definitely a nice place today. It was not always so. When I was a child in the 1960s and teenager in the 1970s, Island Brygge was mostly an industrial area but it was completely overhauled in the late 1990s and 2000s so now, it is probably one of the best places close to the city center if you have kids.
@@rinasharma9786 it is very costly in Copenhagen, but you can chose to live outside the city, its very easy to get with the train, metro or bus to the center anyway -if you are ok with a 20-30 min. train ride it will get much less expensive
6:09 The whole zoo-thing isn't contraversal for Danes - Only everyone else. As we see it, everyone else is making a big deal about something relatively mundane. There was no room for the giraf at the copenhagen zoo, and it wasn't possible to transfer it to another one, due inbreeding. So the giraf HAD to die - Its that simple. And you might as well feed it to the zoo's carnivores then - Because carnivores eat meat, and if they didn't eat this giraf, they would eat another animal that got slaughtered. All in all, all that was done, was change one animal dying, to another. Yet, the world screamed "MURDERERS" - its just stupid. No more animals died, and yet I dont think people get out of their chair, at every dinner table, pointing at their spouse, and scream "MURDERER!"
Content is excellent. Could you work on speaking slower? I'm an American English speaker and had to rewind a few times to understand what you said. Not a big deal, but just to let you know.
