It would have been a bit poetic if Stefano had turned the camera on himself at the end there, capturing the moment of his death as he did with countless others.
The Dung Defender from Hollow Knight. You can just hear how much fun he’s having while you fight him! And after you fight him, he talks about how it’s the most fun he’s had in years.
His whole arc is so well done. You go from finding him annoying, to genuinely hating him, then reveling in your superiority over him, then finally feeling... actually kinda bad for him after a certain point (not gonna spoil it for anyone). Poor guy.
I've always felt that Metatton from Undertale was having way too much fun throughout the whole encounter and particularly the boss fight, in which you get quizzed, play minigames and try to help the murderous robot score massive ratings on his TV show. Also, in a similar vein, Jevil, the secret boss from spiritual sequel Deltarune, who is certain that you escaped your cage (i.e. the outside) in order to play a game. It's a simple game; if your HP reaches 0, you lose! Such fun :)
Vaas is always having fun in far cry 3 , even when you kill him in a semi hallucination. If I have to listen to the definition of insanity one more time from him, I'll go insane.
The best thing about that quote is even if you say yes, you've already heard it and he says it again anyway, it doesn't take away from his message, like there's an inevitability to insanity.
One boss who comes to mind who’s having too much fun is Deadpool from “ Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions “ Seriously his whole section is his live t.v. show and during the fight he’s clearly having the time of his life.
@@1stSamiurai Well The Ship of Thesseus is a thought experiment. To put it simply it asks that if you periodically change parts of an object until nothing original stays then the obvious question rises: is it still the same object as the one from the beginning if nothing from then is in it now? They were just making the joke that "shipping" characters is basically paring them together and the afromentioned "ship of Theseus" situation.
Hades always seemed to be having a little more fun than is to be realistically expected from the God of the Dead whose plans now bear an oddly Keyblade-shaped spanner in their workings... never did quite work out where that one came from... total mystery...
How are you the only one to comment appreciation to it in the like first 100+ replies it was f*cking great! It reminded me of that song I got no more f*cks to give
I love it when Andy talks about the Yakuza series! You can hear his passion and love for the games in his voice... Also I'm a little biased because Majima is my fave.
I don't know if I'd call that a boss. He doesn't fight you directly. Even when you do meet him face to face fighting him is optional, and he goes down about as easily as other teleporting splicers.
@@kyuubinaruto17 I'd argue that bosses aren't only about physical fights anymore. Besides Bibi Love doesn't fight and she's on the list. Also Professor Nakayama doesn't even /slightly/ fight you and he was on a list recently too.
Goro Majima is definitely the funnest character I have ever seen in a video game. He endears himself to the audience fairly quickly. His "Kiirryyuuu-Chan" is definitely iconic. He has the most appropriate title as The Mad Dog of Shimano.
since Its kinda relevant to this video Majima is WAYYYYY cooler than Shimano and just sticking to the yakuza series Kuze is cooler than Dojima Someya is cooler than Sugai Watase and Katsuya are cooler that their boss the Chairmen of the Omi alliance
Kefka from Final Fantasy 6. He's laughing a lot and jumping around in various moments of the game. Killing people in large quantities and have loads of fun doing it. And in Dissidia Duodecim you see he's enjoying being a soldier of Chaos, the God of Darkness. Torturing Terra, laughing when Kuja gets killed and messing with the soldiers of Cosmos, the goddess of light.
@@Amaritudine Oh totally. I mean, he did try to squish Celes with a four ton weight but I have the feeling that somewhere in his mind he envisioned a more Looney Toons outcome than actual murder.
Somehow I forgot about the attempted giant weight homicide. So I guess Ultros *does* go in for a spot of carnage now and then too. Just occasionally, as a treat.
Xigbar from the Kingdom Hearts series, specifically his Kingdom Hearts 2 boss battle, should have been on this list imo. From standing upside down, to warping around, to shifting the battlefield, all while taunting you, it was obvious to me he was having fun.
Achilles/Patroclus is still the better ship, since they proved that love wins, even if death won in the first round. Also, it screwed the notorious "Bury Your Gays" trope, so...
Hey, i actually used that once. Can't remember where but i got stuck in an area with no escape and couldn't kill myself to leave so had to use the darksign
It's not only in the first, you can use it in the others as well! Fun fact: The Darksign only gets rid of the CURRENT souls you have. If you are on your way to a bloodstain and feel like you aren't going to make it, you can use the Darksign to die, lose what few souls you had on the recovery run, but keep your bloodstain souls intact. Less useful to everyone: Speedrunning strats when you don't have access to a Homeward Bone.
@@SomeIdiota it has its uses but they are rare, in most cases id rather die, then at least i can get my souls back, but yeah u can use it to preserve an evwn bigger souls pickup if u think u cant make it
What about every lego joker encounter? I mean the guy is laughing his plastic butt off sowing chaos while having all kinds of fun and here I am suffering through tedious puzzles
@@jeidc2162 yep, just listen to his theme song again it’s all about him no F being able to look in the mirror anymore without being disgusted by what he sees, it’s Called the only thing I know for real
@@perrydunetz882 I think he is still genuinely enjoying the fight against Raiden though. One can enjoy the thrill of combat even without genuinely beleiving in the cause behind it, plus Raiden can be seen as his way out of the situation. On a related note Senator Armstrong deserves a mention as he seems to be genuinely enjoying himself in his fight too.
Hollow Knight: both the Dung Defender and The Collector are laughing their way through the entirety of their boss fights, two characters who really know how to enjoy life
Well I'm glad Theseus is having a great time, because I never did each and every time I had to do that fight. So to contradict, it's actually very easy to get mad at him because he's having fun, and I'm not.
Jester from Devil May Cry 3 comes to mind. Now THAT was a boss who was having a good time! He ran around making amazing jokes at your expense, made fun of you constantly, and when you finally got to fighr him, he spent the whole fight bounding around on a giant creepy clown face and throwing electrified bubbles at you while talking about spanking you. 10/10 would therapy again!
(It might be weird to comment on a year old comment but oh well) once you found out who he really is though you have to wonder if him having fun isn't really fake and he's actually miserable having to make an idiot out of himself to meet his ends.
The first name that came to mind when I saw the title was Susano from Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. His entire fight is him laughing and treating the fight more or less like a party. And when he goes giant and drops a giant sword on the field, his command isn't "DIE!" or "PERISH." It's "REJOICE." And his line upon dying isn't a curse at you or lamenting his fate, it's a cheer about how memorable it was - as if even in defeat, he enjoys the fight because it happened.
Very true. But it’s probably because people would make the argument that as a robot she can’t feel true emotions but…. ITS CLEAR THE ONE EMOTION SHE KNOWS IS BLOODLUST
So I've previously suggested prison cells that weren't up to the task, but I'm now thinking about this list. I'm really surprised Baldur from God of War 4 didn't get a mention. First time round, he's testing your skills, the second time, he's mocking you and turning your son against you, the final time, he LOVES that he can feel things again.
Ornstein doesn't like Smough but respects him as comrades in the service of the Royal Family of Anor Londo, calmly laying a hand on him to absorb his power. Smough is completely ambivalent and will smash Ornstein while he's trying to get back up after falling.
My thoughts exactly. All the while he’s trying to talk to Kos when he pretty much knows she’s dead. Micolash just out there being a fuckin’ laundry basket-wearing weirdo.
@@rokeYouuer The U.S has plenty of the vaccine to go around, plus, there's been surprisingly little resistance to it considering how vocal the anti-vaxxers had been
No Photoshop Flowey? His entire premise is that he has so much fun torturing you and making sure your only escape is to give up on the game entirely, laughing maniacally with his new power the entire time
I must be in the minority, because smashing Theseus into the floor for being an insufferable tool is my favourite part of Hades. Asterius is chill though. I dig his vibe.
Same here. I hate Theseus. Last time I had toblisten to his shit talk, I was on a break at work and actually yelled at my Switch about not taking his crap in my house. One of my managers was very confused. Lmao
Having just started Resi 7 myself, I'm delighted to see Jack on the list. I'm super early in the game, so I haven't gotten to the garage fight yet. I'm almost as big a scaredy cat as Ellen, so I'm playing the game more to have a better appreciate of the set up with Resi 8 and all that. I love Jane shipping Theseus and Asterius. Stefano reminds me a lot of Cohen in BioShock with all the artwork and such.
Genuinely thought Nishitani would survive getting shot by that cop because of how crazy he is and the fact that his death happens offscreen. I wanted him to power through and show up later with a limp.
ah Theseus, conqueror of the Labyrinth, slayer of the Minotaur, ditcher of his fiancée on a deserted island....planned kidnapper of a preteen Helen of Troy.....accomplice to the attempted kidnapping of Hade's wife..... yeah he often banks on people to stop reading his resume at the minotaur part
@@michaelandreipalon359 yeah i know, i also know he came out of Medusa's stump of a neck after Perseus cut off her head Which honestly raises so many questions that I am not sure where to start asking
@@michaelandreipalon359 hey Greece may be weird but i never seen a Greek goddess with breasts bigger than her head Theres just some weirdness that can never be overtaken
"Get a clue, clowny. He's got no sense of humor. He wouldn't know a good joke if it bit him in the cape. Not that you ever had a good joke. I mean, joy buzzers, squirting flowers - lame. Where's the A material? Make a face, drop your pants, something! You know what? I'll laugh. But only because you're kinda pathetic. Hehehehe..." "That isn't funny..." "What? I thought you wanted Batman to laugh!" *"YOU'RE NOT BATMAN!"*
I’m currently trying to finish the stuff in Hades post-game, and one time I tried to do a run where the bosses had extra bonuses. Theseus got a fancy golden helmet and chariot and god bless his cotton socks he was so excited. 😂😂
0:45 You know, I honestly keep forgetting that Banjo-Tooie was a game that happened. I very fondly remember the first game but I never played the sequel.
Any list of bad guys having more fun is incomplete without Pagan Min. He invites you to dinner, and to go ride in a helicopter with him to do exactly what you are there to do, and when those are turned down he keeps in touch with cheery calls throughout the game. "Zippered meat pockets, check" is one of the best lines in gaming.
I come out, in the mornin' light The hero says "I here to fight!" Oh hero dear, you're quite the fortunate one And bosses, they wanna have fun Oh bosses just wanna have fun (I'm so sorry)
I really love your videos where everyone comes in with their personal favourite choices - could you do another one for your top shocking moments, or maybe the moments you found most hilarious in video games?
Honorable mention: Baldur from god of war He's been deprived of any and all feeling for so long he fully revels in it when Kratos beats him to a pulp at the end of the game
The administrator from Evil within DLC the consequence. He was laughing at you the whole way during the game and while choking you during the final battle against him.
5:04 thank you guys for introducing me to this amazing villain, and getting me to play my first ever serious horror game, The Evil Within 2, all for Stefano! (FYI, I only played Bendy and the Ink Machine and Little Nightmares before this)
Can we just get Jane to play through any Bioware game as she would naturally and see what she does? I would love that as like a live stream series! (Jane could RP as anyone! The romances are endless!) Maybe when DA4 or the ME trilogy remaster comes out we can get that ball rolling?
@@Yuukichan1888 no, it's not wrong at all! I don't know the developer or the character you mentioned, but maybe otome games or visual novels may be up your alley if you enjoy the romance/ character focused aspect of bioware games? The Arcana, Fictif and Lovestruck are all visual novel apps (they do have paid choices and a content unlock clock so be warned) but maybe those may be up your alley in the mean time?
@@Yuukichan1888 oh neat! The name Solaire rang a bell but I couldn't place it. But yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you, any bloodborne/sekiro character should have a romance function!
The Dung Defender from Hollow Knight comes to mind. You run across him in one of the most irritating areas in the game, and right from the start, even before you fight him, he's yelling, laughing, and generally having a good time. Then you actually fight him, and, again, the entire fight he's laughing and bouncing around like he's not in the middle of a massive plague. White Defender acts basically the same way, too, just not in literal bug sewage.
I think Ripper Roo from the Crash Bandicoot games qualifies for this list. No matter what you dish at him, he's always laughing joyously (or psychotically, depending on who you ask).
I'd like to nominate Fontain from Bioshock. He spends the entire fight just amazed at how good he feels now that he is juiced up on Adam and Eve and wondering why he kept avoiding it for so long.
There is one boss missing on this list in my opinion. That is Zenos from ffxiv. When you finally meet him, he will greet you as if you are his long lost friend, and throughout his entire fight he mocks you and literally says how much fun he is having. At the end of the fight, he tells you that this has been the best moment of his life before somewhat emotionally committing self die.
