Thanks again for the great video. Appreciate it as always. One thing you did in this video that helped was you counted it out like "one two and four and." Sometimes with just the ups and downs it takes me some time to figure out the counts but just you saying it like that made it instantly click so thanks for that.

Are you kidding me!!! This is next level music education on a whole new frontier of learning through the Net. Kev, baby, you are crushing it here...Keep up the Cartoon mind flares that just break it up enough for the student to say...ho, hey, hey, ho, hey...this man is OSMSG Old School Music School Gangster....be bold, be goofy, go for the joke whenever it comes up, don't edit....let it....manifest the humor of the Uke of Ukesters...keep it strummin'...
I have been wanting to play the Uke since I was in highschool, and in the midst of all this pandemic craziness I decided to finally purchase one (10 years later...) One thing I was concerned about was not seeing progress right away, and quickly giving up. I found your videos a few days ago, and decided to learn a few simple chords and then focus on these strumming pattern videos first. I have been seeing progress in myself everyday, and these videos are so simple to follow along with. I feel like I should be paying you as an instructor! I feel confident, and I feel like I will continue to see progress the more I commit to following your videos daily. Thank you for providing free lessons on here!
Hi Kevin, I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your online course. I managed to get hold of a Uke the day before the lockdown of Hanoi and the instrument saves my life. I am working as a ICU doctor and a definitely needed something to soothe my anxious mind during this pandemic. I love your style and appreciate all the energy and effort you put into your videos. All my love from Vietnam, Thi Mai
Excellent videos. I have never touched a stringed instrument in my life, and here I am, 58 years old and loving it. The pace is absolutely is perfect, the instruction is clear. Sharing these with my much more talented boyfriend and he is learning a lot too. Thanks!
Thanks so much for checking out the video Meredith. Glad you’re finding it helpful. What kind of ukulele are you playing? If you’d like to check out some worksheets for the videos, my website www.allforuke.com has a lot more information and content for you. Keep in touch - Kevin
Gumby rocks! Thanks for learning with me friend. When you finish this series or need a little break, check out my fingerpicking series as well. You’ll dig it!
I absolutely LOVE these lessons! I've progressed so much since discovering your channel that I'm falling in love with the beautiful sound coming out of my tenor. Thank you SO MUCH! You helped me up my game. And it doesn't hurt that you're also gorgeous to look at while I learn from you.😊 Thanks for teaching me so much already. So much to learn yet.
I want to say a massive thank you for helping me progress with my strumming, I can see now I was trying to run before I could walk and going nowhere, your vids are perfect to help us learn, improve and progress 👏🏼 👏🏼
Great to hear! If you'd like more learning resources, drop by the AllForUke website and have a look at our extensive library of courses, song sheets, tabs and practice jam tracks. Thanks for learning with me! - Kevin | allforuke.com
I like the way you slow it way down and then pick up the tempo slowly. I never thought I could play an instrument but I’m doing it the uke is perfect and so is your encouragement thanks much.
Starting the video with a sample of what the lesson should sound like is great! We can understand your explanations a lot better, knowing what we should achieve.
I recently bought a ukelele and am finding your strumming video excellent. I really enjoy your teaching style, You get one to the right strumming pace without any pressure. Thank you and keep those lessons coming.
Hey Kim - thanks so much for joining the community :) Glad to hear you're enjoying the lessons. Will you be joining me for the full 7 day series? Keep in touch and let me know how you're coming along. ~Kevin
Just discovered this. It works. I've been a pro pianist for the last 40 years, and recently worked out that I have played the ;piano for 80 years.Recently decided to wind down on extras like guitar and accordion , and made my mind up to get good on Uke. This course answers my prayers and I am determined to be disciplined (Some hopes!). Your presentation is by the far the best I have found and I am certain I will be out playing in public soon, (as I still do on piano at the moment, resident in a prestigous local cafe here in Harrogate England.) Keep up the good work!
Great tutorial, thanks a lot. Particularly liked the way you showed us the strum 'simply' first and then, when we'd got it, showed us the 'proper' way to count it.
Kevin, this is excellent teaching skills! I'm impressed. I've finally found a video that is helping me with my strumming. I watched day one and two but I'll probably stay on these two days for awhile until I master the process and then move on. I'm excited that maybe I can finally get this strumming process figured out. Thank you.
I love you! You are making strumming so much sense. The only suggestion I have would be to colour the up down arrows through out the whole video (like you do in the beginning) Thank you
I just found your videos and this is just the help I needed.! Excellent teaching style!!! I have been learning via RU-vid for 3 years and strumming is what I needed help with the most. Thank you so much for this series!😊
Thank you! I’ve been dedicating at least 10 minutes (definitely need more but at least 10) to getting my ukulele playing solid. Thanks for the help! Much appreciated
You are a great teacher. You take your time and I really love the visual. I am a beginner. I have shared your tutorial with other friends who are also a beginner like me. Keep it comimg!! THANK YOU
Heyhey Janet -- appreciate the feedback and I'll keep that in mind for Day 6 & 7 when we film this week. How are you doing with the series so far? ~Kevin
Great teaching style. I picked this up so quickly today with your lesson. I’ve tried a few times with other tutorials and felt frustrated. Your A to G tip is so helpful, I have always struggled with that transition.
Thank you --what a great successor to the Kicksart. So well taught that this becomes easier and clearer with every session. AND I do do these over and over and over ---until I can get it right! :)
This is great. :) I proceeded to check this video out right after watching your tutorial for day 1. (I didn't want to sleep yet as I gained some momentum from strumming along with the first video.) I ended up practicing for day 2 as well. :D Thank you so much again. I'll try out the exercises on your page! :)
I'm practicing your series and I absolutely love them. Everyday I am getting a better player. Thank you ! Wondering can you share some uke players you like. Thank you again! Wish you all the best and keep going.
Love love love this series. Im just learning and this is the perfect pace, super informative and makes me want to keep on strumming. Can't wait for tomorrows lesson!
😊 Here we are, strumming all together. It's a wonderful thing. Hope you'll keep in touch and join me for the rest of the series. If you know of anyone else who could benefit from this series, feel free to send them my way. ~Kevin
great presentation and teaching style. Even fr those that are a little more experienced, these are great refreshers and confidence-building exercises. Thanks!
This is one of very best courses to follow.. would be great if you can show or teach shifting which is tough always.. and also for scrumming down is easy but up is always lil tough so if u show us in details the best way to do scrum down technique would be great. Thanks again..
Thank you for your tutorial. I´ve been following many youtuber exercising in strumming ukulele, but no progress :( I will stay tune with you now. Wish me luck!.
Thanks so much! If you have a chance, check out my Play Ukulele Every Day Series as well. I think you'll find some very helpful general ukulele info. - Kevin
@@AllForUke Kevin, I think I made progress with my ukulele. But how could you decide which strums pattern to choose in one song? If the person ,like me, is a beginner and i dont know if i have talent in music.
After watching your first 2 videos I feel like I am finally getting it- It's frustrating to be so slow changing chords but in time if I can get the strumming thing down at least the notes will sound like a song.....at least I hope!
Thanks, I love your series! First the kickstart and now this. :D This riptide strum has been challenging to me, island strum has been my go to strum, lol. Need to practice this some more, it's so much fun to practice with you, so thanks!
And oh, btw it helps me that somebody, I think @Bernadette teaches music said that keep your hand moving. So at the hesitating moment I make up and down movement with my strumming hand without touching the strings! :D
He estado viendovarios tutoriales porque soy principiante y me encanta tu forma de enseñar sencilla y paciente, muchas gracias, eres el mejor, con gusto compartire tu canal, gracias desde mexico!!!!
Finding your strumming course every bit as good, if not better that, the kickstart series, so making progress.....😀😀 Before I happily stumbled upon your RU-vid I was using random instruction courses and one did say we should move our strumming hand up and down for each count of the beat - whether or not we strike the strings..... (Down (up) down ( up) (down) up, down, up.) Is this your advice as well. ? You have a gift for teaching - glad we have all found you. Keep well. XI
Hi Kevin, I just came across your feed and the 7 days of Strumming lessons ...brilliant! I’ve been stuck in 1st gear for some time and you’ve unlocked “the mystery of strumming “ in just 2 lessons. Very exciting- felt myself move to the next plateau by the end of the 2nd lesson. Thank you very much. I’m now a subscriber. I’ll be checking out the rest of your goods very soon. Peace.
Hey Conrad - thanks so much for the feedback and the sub. Glad to hear this is helping you make progress! I hope you'll stick with the series and check out some of my other content as well. If you're interested, I also have some free pdfs on my website www.allforuke.com that you can check out which include practice exercises for all of these patterns. Keep in touch and let me know how you're progressing. ~Kevin
I have been learning for the past year. Not well I don't get to practise as often as I should. this strumming set lessons are awesome. I have a tough time strumming and singing at same time. Hope this will help me.!
Hi Helena - I definitely think that the series will help you with singing and strumming. Once your rhythm/timing is solid and consistent, you'll have a much easier time placing the vocals over the strumming. Keep me updated as you progress, k? ~Kevin
Old dog, new tricks here😎. I really appreciate that you added the counting aspect, 1 2 & 4 &. Takes me back to my concert band days 35 years ago and taps into my long term memory bank. Thanks!
The long term memory bank is a REAL thing. Sometimes we just need something else to tap into it. Glad to hear you're diggin' the lessons and appreciate the feedback. Day 7 is coming soon, and it's a good one :)
