Your "Blacksmith Area" question - The item is a "Bellows" and was used to stoke the smith's fire (blows additional oxygen in to promote combustion) to get the coals hot enough to forge iron.

Hensley seems so smart and bright! I think that the travel/exploring has benefitted her education as well as created family memories. Her school is experiencing life instead of just reading about life. I would have enjoyed having that kind of schooling when I was a child!

Idaho is my FAVORITE state!! It is stunningly beautiful. My husband grew up in Idaho and Redfish Lake was his childhood camping area- back in the day BEFORE the masses took over! His family had many memorable vacations of swimming/boating/camping at Redfish Lake.

What a beautiful place! Marissa, Hensley looks so much like you, when you were little. We have been watching you all since you started traveling. Those 2 babies will remember the time that you spent with them. They will grow so fast and before you know it, they will be making you all grandparents. We were not able to RV full time, with our kids but took them so many cool places in our RV. We made fantastic memories and now they are grown. It goes fast! Enjoy!

The kids made me giggle so much in this one. You, too, Nathan, sharing your story about the folding kayak. We know about tight spaces at the campground we're at right now, which is Terrace Pines in Ossipee NH. Super narrow dirt back roads and most campground roads too, but we made it! Idaho is now on my radar for a future road trip.

Wow! Thanks for a great video! We passed through there on the way to Glacier NP, in the summer of '22, I had no idea what we missed. We ill have to go back there again. The pass through the Saw Tooth Mountains was amazing! ID in general, seems to be the best kept secret... I loved driving down the million dollar hwy on our 38' rig plus towed, especially descending down into Ouray. On a couple of the really sharp and steep switchbacks, before Ironton, I was geared right down to 1st. Lol. The nice thing about having to go slow through the switchbacks, is it lets you have a chance to enjoy the scenery. I loved the reading books analogy, spot on! When it comes to learning, you can't beat hands on experience, and your kids are blessed to have that experience and way of life, even though they might not realize that till their are adults. Safe Travels!

The item you were looking at is called a bellows. Blacksmiths used them to push air into their fires to burn bigger and hotter. A friend of mine has an Oru Kayak and she has a rudder/skeg that attaches to the back bottom to make her kayak track better, instead of going side to side with each paddle thrust. Stanley, ID is official now on my bucket list - mountains and water for the win! Thanks so much for sharing this - what a special place.

Interesting to watch your fold up kayak experience. A friend talked me into using one of hers, likely an older different brand (Tuctec). In a bay along the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. It worked fine for a short distance. Then water started coming in pretty quickly and I was sinking. Was able to get out and manually pull the kayak full of water back to shore. Fortunately the bay water was not really deep. A hook had come undone. We reassembled it, did a quick test and I took it back out. Short distance from shore water again came in quickly and the hook had come undone again. Party over. Not sold on fold up kayaks. And really happy I wasn’t in deep water. I’ll be curious how yours works for you going forward. Loved the video. We’re going to Idaho for our 50th wedding anniversary next summer. Might need to take a side trip to Stanley area.

Good luck with your fold up kayak. We have 2, they do safe space. They are not especially comfortable. We have not tried taking the dogs in them. But maybe we could. I prefer the regular kayaks, but with changing to stadium seats the ones we have work. The thing you didn’t know what was a pillage you fill with air and use the handles to compress it. On compression it blows air, oxygen, into your fire to increase the fire temperature. Just in case you need to know in one shot the silver colored bowl thing is a cream separator. Thank you for adding another trip to my bucket list.

That big oval thing is a bellow for the Blacksmiths forge, to get the fire hotter. It opens like a squeeze box or accordion, and you squeeze it back together and air shoots out the nozzle. What you were asking about is a "bellows"; to add forced air to a fire to make it hotter. Just curios; we have a ViAir pump that we carry on our travels for airing up low tires.....I wonder if that would fill up your kayak? Compact, hooks right your battery with 50+ feet of coiled air hose. Just a thought.

I'm positive I was in Kindergarten and we went to Salmon ID to visit my dad's uncle and cousin. Our family always went to Florida for our summer vacation so this my first memories of seeing mountains. It would have been '69 or '70. My dad had an 8mm movie camera and I probably still have the old movies of us at a roadside patch of snow in the mountains In the film my older brothers are throwing snowballs at my mom. They are wearing shorts and it's June or July. We visited Yellowstone along the way. My dad's cousin took us way up in the mountains to visit an old gold mine. That memory stuck in my head for a long time. In the mid 90's when I bought my first pop-up camper it was always a vacation out west. I have since been back to the site of that old mine 2-3 times. You need a jeep, atv or trail bike to get there today. There's one old cabin still up there that my dad took a picture of us kids playing.

There are so many places to explore in Oregon. Crater Lake NP. Bend has the longest lava tube anywhere, and the lava cast forest is amazing. The coast is beautiful. Check out Thors well, spouting horn. The biggest sea lion cave, along with amazing sun sets. Quaint little towns off hwy 101, Charleston, Yahats, to name a few.

Huckleberry milkshakes are so good! In fact, you could have gotten one when you were in Coeur d’Alene

Gorgeous area! I think having a temperature reading gun-thing would be worth it for any thermal water - eek. We've driven through Idaho twice, but sadly zipped through both times. Obviously, we need to go back! Our RV is small and we still have some of those "yikes" exits. Spent an hour getting out of my ex-boss's circular driveway.

Ah we love Stanley, ID. Stayed there 3 years ago and miss it so much. Thanks for bringing back the memories. PS: We’ve watched your channel since your daughter was an infant. Remember y’all being at Joshua Tree when she was a baby

I had no idea Idaho had so many hotsprings. I'm in Pocatello right now. If you make it up to Idaho Falls, that town has a great riverfront area and Japanese garden in the same area that are great to visit. The Walmart just down the street allows RV overnighting too.

So enjoyed this video and looking forward to this being one of our first destinations when our Journey begins this summer!! (We’ve loved watching your kids grow🥰) one question -are your sofas comfortable and do they make into a bed? We are starting to design our New Horizons and can choose our furniture. Love yours and just wondering if yours would work and what brand it is? TIA❤️

That object is a bellow. You pump it and it adds air to a forge fire to heat up the temperature.
