Downsizing, selling your house and living in an RV can be overwhelming. Our family of 4 (Marissa, Nathan, Hensley, & JJ) creates videos showing why it’s worth it to live a life of less junk, more journey.
We release a new video every Sunday on Topics like downsizing, bucket list destinations, route planning, and finding the right RV.
If you have questions, comments or just want to say "hi", feel free to reach out to us at heyguys@lessjunkmorejourney.com.
Old trucker tip: rather than pulling in a straight line, try to put some angle on the trailer. Example: a 45° angle will allow the truck to travel twice the distance relative to the trailer, effectively doubling the leverage/pull on it 😉
I have been full time RVing for over three years. It is A LOT of work. I am constantly doing DYI projects to fix all of the things that break..or making appointments for larger broken things. I think I’m going to move into my house again for awhile..to rest.😀
Those children are so beautiful! The youngest cracked me up where he was talking about the mustard on the chair and then smelling to see what else was on it. LOL! I have those same chairs and mine got really stained. They are sturdy chairs, perhaps you get reupholster them? How will you make this work once your eldest does become 16? My daughter loves her privacy and we have been contemplating buying an RV, but we were concerned it wouldn't work with our super private daughter.
I finally broke down and bought a travel trailer and a new tow vehicle. It’s only been 2 months full timing but I already love and hate it. 😂 There are all the things you see on RU-vid, then there the things you don’t see like unclogging the toilet, setting up the rig in the rain, or forgetting to turn on the water heater when you really needed a hot shower before going to a work meeting the office. I’ve already battled storms in Tennessee and rough roads in New Jersey. So far, the worst of RV life is the drive between camp sites. Driving stinks!
Lordie How Time Fllies ! I have been watching you since Hensley was a baby..I love your family and your contribution to each other and your viewers. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Well what do you know? We were in Monterey at the same time you were at your base home! We went to the camp office when the Tornado warnings were out. All o.k. We did not see the Aurora though. We didn't know about it and were sleeping! 🇨🇦
Hi Nathan and Marissa! Great video! So glad you were ok from the tornado. I concerned of my sister who lives in Tennessee as well with the tornado but she said it flew by them and went else where..Thank goodness you all and my sister and her husband were ok. Love how you trying to hide from the Nathan’s meeting to get your clothes. It was seeing the entertainment with the dinner. Nice dinner show. lol! 😊 Great video! Love you guys! ❤❤🤗🤗 Have a great week and see you soon!
We just got home from camping today and we had to take shelter in the bath house because a tornado went right over our campground. What was concerning was we were in a hollow where signals are non-existent
Love TTO! We were actually there when you did this video. Hot tub was working the whole time. Starlink works amazing there! Oh and plenty of Amazon drop boxes in the area if 5$ scares people for convenience. Love you guys!! Safe travels!
A great video from your home base. RV life / living small is still great. At 50 we moved out of the city into an older 5th wheel that was home for 6+ years. Building a very large house our selves & being able to provide daycare for our 3 grandchildren as they arrived. Now 25 years later we are looking forward to life in a 5th wheel again. Snowbirds in reverse so to speak.
Kids need to do small chores like dishes it's a lifeskill lol. I'm No. 1 of 8 kids plus my parents , so we all pitched in and got the laundry 🧺, dishes, bathroom chores it prepared us all for life.
Me too! I am oldest of 5 kids and by the time I was 12, I could do just about anything; cook, clean, laundry, baby sit...It really prepared me for life! Kudos to you for teaching your children life skills!
@@LessJunkMoreJourney, the trick is... I clean ours with a vacuum about every three cooks. One other issues I feel is the pellets get moist if they sit long in the hopper. and it will seem to never get to temp... and what happens is because the pellets are damp they do not burn well and the auger overloads the fire pot and I have never had that problem as long as the pellets were fresh ...Steaks and ribs on that thing ....
Thanks so much for sharing your family time with us. Please tell me those were plastic jars going into the ice for coffee and not glass. Glass can chip off into the ice and you'll never know.
Loving your video. It is real. Love seeing Marissa and Hensley in the kitchen singing 9 - 5. Love the song and the movie, which I found at a Half-Priced Bookstore for $4.99 a little over a month ago. My Dad, sister and I took turns doing the dishes when my mom cooked. So, it is good that kids learn and do some chores. This is a great video, thank you all for sharing. Also, I love you all's outdoor concert on the deck. Love the Northern lights. You all are lucky in Tennessee to have basements in the permanent buildings, Texas doesn't have basements, they just build houses on slabs, and we get more than our share of tornadoes. A little over a year ago in December 2022, the Grapevine area, (not far from Euless), Texas had a breakout of tornadoes, that damaged a Sam's and a Walmart, a car wash and various other places, the carwash got rebuilt, the Walmart got fixed, and the Sams had reopened earlier this year. One reason I love the west side of the Rockies (Utah side), is that we didn't get tornadoes, when I went to college there back in 1978-1982. They did get one in Salt Lake City, in August 1999 which surprised me, but it is rare that Utah, gets in tornadoes.
You both are doing such a great amazing job with those children teaching them the importance of chores and the school and a routine and also giving them some pretty epic Life Experiences
