Glock the 7dtd wiki states “The most effective way to gather 'Forge Ahead' magazines is to level the Lock Picking skill as that ONLY increases the chance to find additional 'Forge Ahead' magazines as opposed to Advanced Engineering, which increases loot chance for 4 types.”

True, but the improvement is marginal. LP affects 1 magazine type vs 4 for AE. That edge is then diluted by all the other skill point improving other magazines odds. Furthermore, the magazine boost to the other 3 magazine types that AE improves may be desired and/or advantageous anyway. Next, we have to consider the benefits of the skill points themselves. Lockpicking is not very useful, as Glock9 can just slowly bang anything open during some downtime (e.g. when the hospital is cleared). Put that in contrast to the crafting advantages and XP bonus if he manages to use electrical traps.

As my party's resident farmer, i will say that farming sucks in the last few alphas. You need to max out living off the land to be worth it. Pump points there fast. I also may be wrong here but I think you get more resources from using a knife on the corpses than the axe.

I think the reason there are so many dogs in the hospital is that doctors were studying infected dogs and experimenting with a cure but were overrun before they could find one.

I love the "traped" idea. Honestly i dont think its cheating if you make a cat walk to get to the trees, as long as you dont hit the ground. Otherwise its just you utilizing what you have, just like any other survival situation. Anyone else agree?

@@spartanspyke I was thinking the same thing about the Hospital grounds being fair game. Otherwise the series was lost as soon as he went out on the roofs, because technically that's not "inside" even though it's the direction the POI wants you to go! Basically, if the POI icon for "Navezgane General Hospital" is showing, he's technically still "inside".

Honestly I am fine if he goes into the parking lot. I don’t see this as a “the floor is lava” type of thing, just that he pretty much stays in the confines of the POI. I would NOT have a problem with him going into the parking lot (though I do agree that any horde building should be confined to the hospital and not structures outside the hospital).

@@dethaddr the only reason I would be ok with the roof is, yes it is technically outside but its still a part of the building and even if a catwalk was made it could only go so far out without support under it so he is still limited to how far he can go and nerd pole or block frames to jump on would be cheating as well... I wouldn't be opposed to him going in the parking lot either, if it had a multi level garage type attached to the building. But an open lot kinda defeats the purpose of the challenge... In the end though it wouldn't matter to me what kind of challenge he does, I love watching gl9ck play reguardless 💜🤘 you rock dude

heres how I see it, you're locked into the POI plot, so you can go outside but you can't leave the POI is how id set the rules since you were already on the ground in the courtyard, so maybe in any future locked in style just make like a yellow and black line with the paint tool around the poi area, just so if you fall , you're not completely sol

Yeah I'd definitely start putting points into living off the land, at base level there's only a chance of harvest and the amount is low meaning you might only get one harvest without enough for seeds to replant, much less get more plants, usually needs at least 2/3 levels just to keep status quo. Also makes farm plot crafting cheaper, so would help to maximize it

I did this kind of thing too a while ago. It is very funny with almost every Tier5 building. The biggest challenge would be in the Wastland because you get cops already in the first horde and Demolisher in Horde 3 or 4. You need the seed of that tree. Otherwise you will run out of wood later which is required to cook if you don't have coal below the building and if you are not allowed to get the small trees close to the hospital (I think you should allow this if you have to collect loot bags direct in front of the building. You need it also for petrol from the 3 vehicels to fly away anyway). You get infinite clay after level 2 of mother load. For that you can create 1 peace of clay soil with 16 clay. You get 20 and more with level 2 of mother load so you can make infinite of it. For the wather i gave myself 10 buckets before entering and I used 1 bath room to collect the water in that room with some blocks around it. You need at least farmer level 3 (Level 1 at start because it costs much less then, Level 3 three days after you planted seeds). Sledge Hammer, knife or Knuckles would be the best weapons in this setting or if you find one a stun baton. The most difficult part is to get the mechanical parts for the wrench PS: If you want that ammo-pile under the desk you have be around in front of the door (walk slow). then you can pick it up. Don't destroy the desk, otherwise it disappears

You could try and make regular soil out of your clay soil and might grow grass like the in old alphas to get your fibers. Maybe? I have not tried this in the newer alphas, I know back in A16 it would grow grass if you made forest soil or plains soil. Cheers

I know you never use the blood bags, but I think you can get those by wrenching the intravenous poles in the ICU and other parts of the hospital. You can get med kits from those if you need them later on.

To find forged ahead books, you're better off putting a point into lockpicking since that's the only skill it covers. Advanced engineering increases odds for electrical, traps and forged ahead

That's not true at all, do you have the game? If so, go to the crafting skills menu, look under Workstations and you can see the FIRST perk mentioned to find more workstation books is Advanced Engineering.

Salvage operations will be important since it increases your harvest with the wrench. And you’ll need iron, mechanical parts and all that for the gyro. Also I think there’s some forklifts in the docking area? So maybe you can get the headlights you need from those. Otherwise you’re screwed. Although… heh, I’m pretty sure you can loot the gyro parts in loot bags. You just need to be a high enough loot stage. Like stupid high. Because I know I’ve looted mini bike parts and motorcycle handlebars from the bags before

You should consider going all out with the bows, you've said you wanted to do that before and this would be a great series for it with the lack of brass for ammo. You'll be fed feathers with the birds every hoard night. With wood being the main issue I'd say you can build off to trees and such as long as you don't leave the POI's area or just give yourself a tree seed.

Try using your knife to conserve stamina too. Use knife power attack when you first attack them and then follow up with club attacks. Especially for zombies with a lot of hit points like bikers and big mama.While you beat them up, they lose hit points. Also, those janitor carts (like the one near your camp fires) can be dismantled for mechanical parts with a wrench.

I think that room w/ the generator you didn't wa t to loot has a dirt tunnel leading bsck around to the cafeteria. Good place to dig for clay and stone eventually.

If you're short on office chairs, there's still other things that can give you mechanical parts, like filing cabinets. I think you can get them from those vending machines that don't work, too.

Hey on your question of a layout for hoard night to avoid the previous layouts. Why not make it like a maze/ dungeon threw out the floors. You could cut out floors to have angles to shoot from (once you have more ammo and guns ofc) but that also allows you to build a bridge to funnel them to a single point where you can just smash their heads in. then they can also push themselves off the bridge and into the room down a few floors or into deep spike filled pits where they will just fall down into the void for you to harvest later.

Glock don't forget about some sleeping bags that you pass in the hospital because they have fiber/grass. I'm enjoying the video. Also check the edge of the building for bird nest.

you have no idea how happy i am to see you actually loot the coffebeans. just hope youll live long enough to get to use them aswell. Also, dont waste arrows on hunting animals from ontop the parapet by the mushroom-fountain, throw rocks at them instead. should work for zombs aswell.

Take a point in healing factor asap Glock - to have some slow sustain 👍 Series is a scramble for sure and I absolutely love it! 🤣😂💪 Your reaction time is on point and you really make some awesome decisions on the spot - that dog save... Just too cool to see 😁 I'm looking forward to see the first horde night, because even though it should't be too tough - its gonna be a melee fight in a hospital that ain't cleared! 😂🤣 Pandemonium! And regarding lootbags, aren't they a horde night only occurrence in vanilla? Haven't you just gotten too used to them dropping everywhere in the wild west? 😁 Or am I remembering wrong because I haven't see vanilla in a while 🤔🫣🤷🏼‍♂️

Glock, you should count anywhere where the game claims as "Navesgane General Hospital" as "inside". That way, trees and some fiber are available, as well as the lucky animal you can mow down while "inside" the Hospital grounds.

Remember that by scrapping bedrolls you get plant fibers. Stop scrapping clothes and wear it like the jacket and the hat. You need head dressing for the purifier and other cloth peaces for pockets.

you should do a series that is like a contractor series. im a general contractor and carry certain things in my truck everywhere i go.. keep in mind i live in a state where i can carry. . so i have tools and guns on me all the time. which would be perfect for a series like this.. so maybe you start with a pistol and two mags and a wrench, hammer. minimum. nothing over the top im not saying an AR and 500 rounds, which would not be out of the relm of possibility with me. hahaha.. love you series so far

You are beyond lucky not to have been infected with the amount of hits you've taken over 2 episodes. On the topic of boundaries I would vote that the hospital grounds would be the boundary, including its car park, that way you have access to the trees and plants on the grounds as well as the vehicle salvage. I think the hospital is still 100 x 64 x 100 as a prefab size.
