In this video, I'll be showing some of my favourite ways to use Optimum No Rinse (ONR). It's a really versatile product that can be diluted to many different ratios for different applications, as it's a lot more than just a rinseless wash product!
Here is a link to the article I've written on my website which gives you all the popular dilution rates and conversions to oz and litres.

Thankyou for this. I'd heard of some of ONR's uses and was particularly interested in the pre-rinse use. You're the first who I've seen mention all the mix ratios. I'll be watching more of your videos and have subscribed. Cheers.

Absolutely great video! 👍 Thanks a lot ::: this is so much better than a detailer-man who talked for half an hour about ONR and didn't say even half of what I heard from You. I am now a fan of this channel 🙂

Great video Heather and so glad you’ve discovered the use for glass and interiors. I’ve been doing this for years and it works so well and is quick using the same product for everything. My cars like yours are regularly cleaned so the interiors never need more than a quick wipe down and ONR is perfect for that. More of an interior detailer than a interior cleaner though it does clean pretty well too. My wife has a litre bottle at 1:256 that she uses around the house. She swears by it!

Thanks very much! That's so true, it really does make everything a lot quicker when you don't have loads of different products and can just use one chemical! Hahaha that's brilliant, I never think to use detailing products in the house but it's a great idea!

An other great and very informative video Heather! I like ONR because its versatility which you just have described throughout the video, and definitely one of those "must have" products in anyone's arsenal. I was about to do a quick rinse less wash yesterday, because the weather was being sucks since a while, but luckily it turned in to the other way.

ONR is my main rinseless washing method as I don’t have regular access to a pressure washer. But aside from this use, I also use it as a light interior cleaner so I’m glad you shared that tip. As others have mentioned, using it before the initial wash DOES help prevent micro scratches because the product literally encapsulates the dirt so it slides right off when using the pressure washer.

I have been thinking of purchasing this product for a while and you just convinced me because my clay lube was finished the last time I used it. I think the pre rinse use is a good idea also. @@skrtskrt3429 For the pre rinse in the pump sprayer I go with the standard 256:1. But keep in mind I wash my cars weekly and don't have a daily commute so the are rarely very dirty. I have another bottle that's closer to ~125:1 that I use as a quick detailer or if the car is very dirty I'll use it as the pre-rinse. I don't know if it's very scientific, just what I've found to work for me via trial and error.

@grand04gt
@grand04gt 3 года назад
I love ONR and i use it on most of the car. Even on the battered interiors if you use ONR on the surface and brush on your heavier cleaner you will use less of the likely more expensive cleaner and it will wipe off easier. If your looking for a drying aid that adds protection i use 1 part Carpro reload, 1 part Carpro Ech2o, and 10 parts water. It can also be used as an instant detailer but it could be expensive at first but it goes a long way as you dont use much. Its like Carpro Elixr

I started using this about a month ago - really enjoyed the video . I use the stuff so much now. I keep some at 1:256 in an IK Sprayer and use it for Bird Poop (followed up by some FSE). Also as a pre wash when the pollen/sand has coated the car, a little in the rinse bucket ... it encapsulates the dirt and draws it to the bottom under the grit guard helping to keep the mitt clear. Well, that's what it seemed like.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ 3 года назад
Thanks for watching! That’s a really good idea, makes a lot of sense to use it in the rinse bucket as well. I really need to get an IK sprayer, I’ve got a foamer at the moment but it’d be so much easier to use a pump sprayer instead of a trigger to apply prewash etc

@@AutoCareHQ Oh the other place I used it was engine bay - surfex to de-grease and the ONR to do a wipe down/clean up as I don't really like using too much water around there ... and then Koch Chemie Motorplast as the final step to clean and protect.

I used it as no.4 "before rinsing" and it works. I wonder if we use it with apc mixed together and pre-wash or pre-soak will it work together or it will fight apc, like the shampoo in the backet? And moreover, if we use it as interior cleaner the same way with some apc or IPA..

I'm confused. You say can be used as a QD @ 1:16 and a drying aid @ 1:16 which makes sense as most, (if not all), QD's are drying aids. My confusion arises around the question of why you chose to document them as two different uses, rather than one, when they're essentially the same; as most, (if not all), QD's can be used on either wet or dry paint. I'm not trying to appear pedantic, but I believe this could confuse people that are new to detailing.

Hi Heather, any thoughts on the following - plus if this is a bad occasional idea please say so. Sometimes I just need to clean a car quickly - weather changes etc. I usually APC + Snow foam first, at this point the car looks great as its wet but light road film is still present that would be obvious if the car drys. So now i decide to finish without a contact wash by towel drying to save the inevitable poor results of letting the car dry naturally (even though this would be safer). If i use ONR as a drying aid (say 16:1) at this point do you think this would be significantly safer. Any thoughts would be appreciated, best wishes.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ 3 года назад
I think using ONR after the contactless wash would be much safer. I think using a drying towel on a car that’s not completely clean without any lubrication is likely to cause some damage. You could always just use the standard waterless wash method with ONR after your prewash, it probably wouldn’t take much longer and would use less ONR 😊

ONR is the OG but IMO there are better products out there now. I find it clings to the the mitt too much (i.e. doesn't release well), doesn't work well as a drying aid (doesn't flash off quick enough even in hot Australian weather). On the flipside that would make it better as a pre-rinse. I find Uber Rinseless much better for my needs, has none of those disadvantages. I typically use these products as a 2 bucket rinseless, QD or drying aid.
