I would add one point: wear well fitting undergarments that don't show through clothing and make sure they're not past their prime so they continue to provide support. Washing undergarments on delicate or by hand and hanging to dry will extend their lifespan, too.

I also love ironing - I solve the world's problems whilst doing it! If I have a lot (like sheets, etc.) I watch a RU-vid video and it goes quickly. It's lovely to have something to show for it when your done - unlike many other household and mundane chores. To me grocery shopping is my nightmare - would much rather be ironing! Good advice.

My Grandmother always said to me, Good Coat, good bag and good shoes is all you need.I have lived that mantra for over 40 years. Steamer s a great suggestion I hate ironing. Knowing body shape for fit is crucial. Sunglasses are great. Sadly I have only 2 pairs as have to have precription ones!! You always have good posture. Guess its being a trained dancer that does it! Great video.

It is the family joke that when we get together for a wedding or whatever, if anyone needs anything ironed to bring it to my hotel room. I actually find ironing relaxing. I like steaming too for clothes that need to be dry cleaned it refreshes them between cleaning. My next big purchase that I am on the hunt for is a camel blazer. I love camel in my wardrobe. It fits in with so many things & will expand my wardrobe capsule so much.

I quite enjoy ironing. The only caveat is that I need to have ample time to do it. It is not good to be ironing at the last minute. I find it works best to have your outfit all laid out the evening before.

I’ve never left the house in a wrinkled garment, and I’m 61. My only exception is I do love linen, which creases over the day, but I always start out with it perfectly ironed, at least. In my hot climate, people are used to linen. Once you get used to ironing and steaming, it’s rather relaxing, so long as you don’t overheat. A lot of my initial grumpiness about it was just that I got too hot, a fan really helps.

Never store shoes in a hot location. All shoes have some glue, fillers, etc. in them that will deteriorate in too much warmth. After storing my winter shoes in my finished attic room (not the much hotter crawl space) one summer, they all just disintegrated as a walked in them the following winter. A few were repairable by a cobbler, but most weren’t. The heels were filled with styrofoam, etc., that just broke into many pieces (expensive leather comfort brands). Now, I store mine on the lowest floor of my home that can’t get damp, either.

Always used shoe trees and cotton bags for my shoes, at least the last 30 years. Been thinking about buying a steamer for a while now which Ithink you’ve finally persuaded me to do 🤗🤗🤗. I agree with all your tips but I have an 8th too, always wear polish on your toe nails!

Thank you for your message of common sense and taking care of your self and your stuff. One thing about steamers. After having been through many ( perhaps 8 to 10) cheaper brands, do yourself a favor while your are young and invest in a professional "JIFFY" Brand large steamer and while you are at it, get their travel steamer. I did that 25 years ago and have never had to look back or buy again. I have saved thousands on dry cleaning, and always have nicely pressed clothes with minimal time. Buy well and buy once.

Firstly, 195k (yelling voice) you’re doing it! ❤️❤️❤️ I said 200k by the end of 2021. So happy for you. Secondly, video on point, knowledge ( education) is power. Don’t know what to wear? Do some research, watch a video. Then your confidence increases,which makes for better decisions regarding how you present yourself. Everything from posture to fit changes and you can move about your day or event without a thought to your actual clothing. Awesome Gemma👍🏻👍🏻

I stick a picture of my shoes on the front of my dust bags and try and keep them in order of colour and heel height within the colour group.

I love ironing and always have and I can say that I am always wrinkle free when I leave my house. You are right that wrinkled clothes really ruin your look. My problem is that I have foot problems and have to wear supportive shoes. I get so bummed out when I have a nice outfit and my shoes aren't as stylish as I'd like them to be. Luckily I've found Vionics that makes supportive shoes that are not too bad looking.

A beautiful smile is worth more than anything. Save your money and have teeth straighten, whitened, veneered or bonded. Bonding can elongate teeth, fill in gaps and cheaper than veneers and doesn’t damage tooth structure. It’s amazing what bonding can do. It’s in-perceivable and can last for at least 30 years. Find a good dentist who has a good reputation.

I wear a lot of linen in the summer, so sometimes I get items pressed at the dry cleaners (I wash them myself) for ~$1.75-$2.25 ea. So if your in a hurry or just lazy...😁

Reading comments and seems I'm the lone person that absolutely hates ironing 😄. Don't think I've used an iron for at least 2 decades. It's hiding somewhere in my laundry room right alongside the steamer from Costco that I also learned to hate and never use. Anything that can't become crease free by tossing in the dryer with a damp towel just never gets worn. I would rather buy new clothes than use an iron or that dreaded steamer. At least my ironing board is put to good use as a psuedo shelf in the laundry room.

I wear a 12N and often need to pay quite a bit for my shoes. Ideally, I would purchase shoes to match outfits. Truly, I often limit my purchases to the shoes I have, or black which I am most confident I can find. I buy basic shoes. But after a few years they look dated. What do you recommend? I even steam my jeans to be wrinkle free. I didn’t know that about shoes - mine are all in plastic bin and have been forever. Great idea to save those silica pouches I always toss. Do you use distilled water in your steamer? Mine gets rusty from regular tap water.

I can only wear flat shoes /sandals. Put up with a lot of pain before accepted flat foot wear made by life better Wear what you want PROPLE. Youngsters don’t iron, & I admire them. Love the bag but I personally don’t think their bags are really an investment anymore considering their quality decrease over the past couple of years - I don’t think their resale price will compare to the vintage kind. Shame really x I like their bag *repxbag* commercial
