The echo on the original LP sounds awesome- I have an original and a later version where the sound is so flat , doesn’t have the sound of the original - as always TCB Ed ⚡️
Ed, this was the first Elvis lp I ever bought. I still have it. First Elvis album in 1959 and I’m still buying them today 60 plus years later. Thank you for this video as you can imagine this lp is very special to me. CA Ed
easy to agree with you here... but i like both the "echo" and "reprocessed stereo" mixes... this must be due to the fact that for my first years as an Elvis fan these were the only mixes i heard, and there's something about it... nostalgia perhaps... :)
Another great video Ed.i hope to get that one for my collection. My baby left me is my favourite song on the album. I'm gutted that I just missed out on bidding for a sealed copy of that's the way it is but just won a sealed promo of promised land on eBay. I'm also waiting on something for everybody original us copy coming from an Australian seller, bonus photos for my albums that were on sale separately today and a sealed copy of from Vegas to Memphis from a u.s seller and finally from a German seller, a sealed copy of FTD vinyl of from Elvis in Memphis American sound sessions. Phew. I'm just paid so I'm a bit worried that I've spent too much 🤣
Another great video Ed! It’s always been one of my favorite albums. I agree with you on Poor Boy too, I can either go 50/50 on it. Not bad song, but not one I would actually choose to listen to at random. Do you have the FTD version of For LP Fans? I have it and it’s really cool with the same mastering on the 60 cd set. Also has his performances from the Dorsey, Berle and Allen shows rounded out with some home recordings from Germany. Highly recommended!!
Great album there ED i love it i a same with you pn Poor boy but i never skip this song and also i never did like the echo on the other lps i have the friday music and the FTD 2 cd set of this also again true mono sound and i love it, great video ED and oh i have have it on cd from the 1990s and it has that echo sound but it is staying in my cd collection lol
I still listen to the Fool album tracks a lot, and Promised Land single. It's where I came into the picture of buying records in the early to mid 70s. I was already into Elvis by way of a stack of RCA 45s and his movies. I saw him in Portland in November of 1976. I've done Graceland a couple of times, had to go back after the first time. But otherwise it's mostly about Aloha TV performance, Jailhouse Rock movie and the last few albums he made, including Separate Ways. My all time favorite Elvis album is the International Hotel Vegas live album. Got a soft spot for it, I also love the Fun In Acapulco soundtrack with the Spanish stuff. I like stopping by here because you're a humble fan and refer to any experts for the rest. It's about sharing.
I always enjoy your videos. I like the different and informative perspective you always provide. However, I must confess for me personally I prefer Elvis in Stereo even with echo. (I have an original from the 70's For LP Fans) I love it this way. Mono for me is too bland. Even if it’s been “digitally remastered”. There are more channels in Stereo that make the sound more powerful and enjoyable to me. My father who introduced me to Elvis was a boy in the 50’s. And it was his stereo versions I grew up with in the 70’s.

Hey Ed ... Great album ... Po Boy I have never been a fan of nd would skip it. If they had replaced it with Blue Moon of Kentucky , the album would be perfect for me..... This series of videos you are doing are great.. I am really enjoying them ...

I agree with you and I do not like the remix it messes it up I like the original by Elvis I don't want no stupid remix and I do mean stupid you have a wonderful day and take care and God bless
THE U L T I M A T I V E ELVIS' 50's Album Cover ever, no matter what. Well, the only Song i skip is "Poor Boy". Talking about the Sound of the original Album...this sounds really very, really bad. I have a few original near mint USA, German Editions and a whole lotta different Vinyls worlwide, man, a bunch of BMG/RCA/SONY/Compact Disc... The perfect Sound only = the FTD DoCD no matter what!!! Thx Ed✌️ @ ...after all, isn't this the very first Rhythm and Blues / Bluesy Album on ELVIS ever?! I think so...👍
I do not have the Friday issue I would love to have it and hear the different sound I only have the original in the 60s version of that album wish I could find the Friday version take care
