There were 2 popular Disneyland/Disneyworld servers that were probably the first theme park servers in MC. They were called Palace Network (formerly MCMagic) and Haxicle Sticks.
As an old Minecade staff member/player and a Super Craft Bros enjoyer, thank you for that section. There's so much history and lore behind that server that it is unreal, and only the few that have stuck around really know about all of it.
I have many memories there. The spammy blaze, the OP Wither Skeleton compared to the Wither, the Jeb trolls spawn yeeting people, the "I am upset at you choosing one of the above mentioned classes so how about a Cactus vs Cactus duel?" I remember people thought I was hacking because I would land the arrows after they did their double jump since they couldn't do anything else but fall straight down 😂 And let's not forget the insta kill bomb that would shut down any argument or flex. I remember those giant ice dragons in the lobby. Unlocking Sethbling by finding the heads! I'd say the main problem was this long maintenance and lag phase. People being excited of trying to come back but still having problems for weeks or months. Favorite maps or the signs to go there not working, etc. Just being constantly told it's under maintenance until people forgot to check back
Same, I remember playing Minecade on Super Craft Bros. and Super Minecraft Maker. Genuinely some of the most fun I've ever had playing MC. I recall SCB being defunct since late 2017 or so and SMCM being defunct since somewhere in 2019.
@@aaron-gz Yeah I have a lot of memories as well. One problem with Minecade is that it was extremely easy to exploit, too. For example, you could use literally any client to fly or go really fast, even Wurst. I remember the anti-cheat being even worse than vanilla MC. Another thing is that you were able to fly under the barriers of an SMCM level using an elytra + fireworks and start killing everyone in the lobby by using potions of harming
I think what made me really sad was when HiveMC closed down their Java server and went strictly to Bedrock (at least from what I heard). I have never played bedrock before and I don't really plan on playing it anytime soon but I really wish they didn't have to close down their server. I loved that server and their block parties and survival games were my favorite gamemodes. RIP my childhood.
As a Bedrock player, The Hive on Bedrock is a fun server and a very popular one amongst the other 5 servers (I think) you see immediately on the default server list.
Yeah don't, Bedrock is literally just Java but worse as you can't mod it, they have a in-game store to screw you out of money for things that should just be free and it is policed even harder than Java and being unable to join Java servers.
If you have played java at all bedrock is going to be painful - all the mechanics are jank, feels way less polished, way more bugs, monetised way to much, little to no modding support, etc. Only real benefit is that it runs better on bad computers, which can be fixed in java by using sodium.
I’ve played Hive both on Java and Bedrock and I love Bedrock. I did way more better with Survival Games than on Java. But I wish Java was still around to have my favorite pvp packs on there.
@@projectinfinite7992 It took me some time to get used to Java's control since I played Pocket Edition first but I got used to it. Sadly, I don't have a computer anymore and my laptop isn't good for Java so I have to stick to Bedrock which I don't really complain about. Bedrock is the only convenient edition that I could play and I really enjoy my time there even if there are some drawbacks. I'm just happy to play Minecraft, that's all.
Mcpvp not being on this list is criminal. Was legitimately the hypixel of its day and paved the way for HCF and mini games servers. I loved that server so much
Absolutely. Copy pasting my comment to here I'm surprised you didn't include McPvP. This server died in 2015, and was absolutely legendary for the time. Some of the best gamemodes ever like CTF and HG were my childhood. A crazy amount of extremely popular modern day youtubers also had their start on it. Leafyishere, Badboyhalo, Callahan, Awesamdude (or is it awesamdad? I remember both of them and they'd always play together) and others came from here. Badboyhalo's server "Munchymc" contains a few of the remnants of McPvP, as he was an admin on the server and inherited some of their gamemodes. Heck, if I think deeper about this, there's even more. Popular ASMR RU-vidr "JojoASMR" (or something like that) started with Minecraft Hunger Games on McPvP, under the name Sinn0h. Popular Rocket League youtuber Rizzo also started with McPvP Hunger Games. Shoot I feel nostalgic now haha, been a while
@@mr_lats yea man. Dream also started on mcpvp, I remember his old trapping videos. My weird flex is that I went to quakecon back in 2013 (I was like 12) and met a lot of people including badboyhalo. I don’t know mcpvps player count but it had to be in the thousands if not 10k+ at times. Was absolutely massive in a time before servers were known to be that massive. It was mega server that nobody seems to even know existed
out of all the servers, i'll never forget McPvP/McTeams.. and all the soup servers that tried to follow their formula whether it'll be Hardcore, Teams or HG. AdvancedPvP, McDreamZ, ParaPvP, and Lunar. RIP 2010 - 2015. Thanks for the nostlagic video as usual
@@lanoow Yeah you can say that too since a lot of soup players moved to that (pot pvp) but sadly, i just never found pot pvp fun (and HCF). i did remember seeing how big that was at its time but for me, i barely touched kohi other than the 1v1 server that had a small portion of soup stuff :((
@@looking_33 Man I didnt play on that much. Mainly remember a bit of badger, elite and maze runner tbh outside of HG. I also miss factions servers that implemented instant 3.5/4.5 hp mushroom stew pvp. Gone but not forgotten.
There was this one server I used to play on about ten years ago… It was a small Hardcore Survival server that reset every month. If you donated, you could revive *once and only once* per month, but if you died, you could play on a nightmare world for the rest of the month. It was amazing and awesome. I wish I could think of it's name…
I appreciate all the work you do, love watching the history of Minecraft and you continue to talk about topics I love to listen to. I’m a long time minecraft player and your videos about expensive account, death of minecraft servers, and so much more are so interesting. Have a good one bro
Hey there! I made that one reddit post during the Minecade section, and am also a Nexly developer. Thanks so much for covering Minecade; that server genuinely meant a lot to me since I met most of my best friends there. To clarify a bit on the NFTs- Good Gaming created an NFT project called MicroBuddies, and had announced via press release that a revival of Super Craft Brothers would involve MicroBuddies. However, the final game ultimately contained no NFT integration, though you are able to purchase "MicroBuddy spawn eggs" with coins earned within the game. But yeah, as TrueThaumaturge said, the new SCB turned out awful anyways, NFTs or no.
@@alugo7291 key word "was" it became ridiculously P2W and you basically can't compete with someone who pays. i remember seeing in woofles' video where he sells spare gear from his gkits and players say that they only have prot 2 diamond gear(it was really early on into a fresh faction wipe) when woofles are already building godsets and selling crappy gear from gkits that are way better than what the non paying players curretly have.
@@h13n12 anyone with a brain and a few friends could get shit easily on cosmic and gkits weren't hard to get playing the game and devoting time like grinding rewards greatly
One server I used to play on a bunch before it shutdown was LichCraft. I exclusively played creative mode with a bunch of friends and built a big-ish city. Around 10x10 plots adjacent to each other. Played it all throughout Middle School. Badlion UHC was so much fun back then too.
As a former Minecade staff member who was there when Good Gaming purchased Minecade, I just wanted to say that it is great that you touched upon the server. Minecade has always had a troubled history regarding ownership and management, and it sucks that it always had that problem considering the originality and uniqueness of its games. Minecade arguably could have remained a competitive server if it was given the attention it so desperately needed.
I love your content keep it up. I believe that when Samito brings back Mineplex that it will have a spark in the community, just like it did back in the 2013 - 2016 days. Samito has also reached out to CaptainSparklez, which means that he could possibly return to the Mineplex community as a content creator.
You should include Emerald Isle in the next video. It was a very nostalgic server if you were a fan of Stampy/Squid back in the day. It had hunger games, sky wars, and had a unique mini-game with roller coasters. You would board a mine-cart and go around a themed coaster shooting as many mobs as possible to get a high score. The coasters themselves were also made Nuropsych. A legend in the Minecraft community who made the most impressive builds. Stampy and Squid and everyone else in that group made tons of videos on it back then, and it was very popular around 2013-2015. I had a ton of fun on the server when it was still up. It ended up shutting down in June 2017, but I cant remember why. I still miss it to this day
yesss!!! so little people talk about it but it was such a good server. i could probably still map out my routes along the hollywood hg map and could recreate the mob killing minigame’s (forgot the name) map! i also loved the secrets around the lobbies and trying to do all of the different parkours
Thanks for the video coverage of the Archon merge. I personally never played but I’m a staff at OBMC and it’s been tough helping archon players adapt to our more laid back, less pvp focused gamemodes.
Shotbow has sat at the top of my server list for probably a decade now, and it pains me to see its player count dwindle over time, even if I haven't played on it in years. I keep wondering when it will be shut down.
Their hosting has such a bad rep, and the server they stick on it gets a bit of wash over from the hosting side of their business which can't help things either Id guess
I'm surprised you didn't include McPvP. This server died in 2015, and was absolutely legendary for the time. Some of the best gamemodes ever like CTF and HG were my childhood. Popular Rocket League youtuber Rizzo also started with McPvP Hunger Games. Shoot I feel nostalgic now haha, been a while
There's also nafen, currently an NRG sponsored player for Apex Legends, who I played Hunger Games with back then. This is only the english side as well. The server had a massive Brazailian and European fanbase to the point of where each region had massive servers, though I'm less familiar with the RU-vidrs on that side
Crazy how big some of those servers were and now gone. I ran a Factions server called Icewynd PvP from 2012 - 2015. It was a lot of work but so much fun. Factions servers were really incredible with all the drama and politics. Thanks for making this video!
For anyone missing Super Minecraft Maker from Minecade, MiniRealms recreated it in 1.19 and it's really unknown for the moment. Almost no video on it and the website is hard to find. But it exists!
Hearing about Super Craft Bros again brought back some long forgotten memories. I used to play on that server daily for months when I was younger, and I somehow never realized it was part of Minecade, probably having to do with the fact my friends gave me a direct IP to one of the lobbies. Glad to see there's a continuation of the gamemode and that I can go relive one of my favorites.
Thankyou so much for talking about Minecade, that server was legit my childhood For those interested there’s a couple servers that have completely remade Minecade’s two most popular mini games, Nexly Network for Super Craft Bros and Mini Realms for Super Minecraft Maker! The Minecade community is still there, even after the original server being gone for so long
by the way, you used the word a few times but I just wanted to give a friendly note that it's e-pit-oh-me (epitome)! this was a great video regardless :)
Even though I had no idea cosmic shut down and hadn’t played it in years hearing it been shut down is just a heartache it was such a big part in my childhood during 2016-2019, I remember getting up in the morning when and just playing cosmic for several hours with friends all day.
Archon was amazing. We loved playing Silver. The friends and memories I made back in the day are ones I'm going to hold onto forever. You really end up loving your faction and playing it to the fullest. I kinda miss playing factions, but I don't have 24/7 to apply myself to anymore. I used to let my faction wake me up to defend walls, lol. Godsent was the best thing to happen to me as it inspired things for the better in my future.
You should make a video on mine club had one of the most insane downfalls going from 0 to 4k concurrent players in months and then died due to owner controversies it was crazy
this video really makes me remember an old server i helped creating/running it was a modded server around the mod "dragonblock c" which adds a dragon ball themed rpg system to the game we made npcs and quests for players to level up and get stronger and occassionally did pvp events but it was mainly a pve games focused on grinding up your stats there were several servers with that concept and a lot of them vanished quite quickly again im pretty sure only one from the old time is still running but thats mostly cause its backed by the mod creator the server i helped with was at the time quite popular but we often had issues with bad staff that destroyed parts of the server so whenever something like that happened the server had to go on maintainance to get recovered sadly the staff options in that community were quite limited and good server staff was pretty much impossible to get the server had around 30-50 ish people online at all times peaking at nearly 100 and i do remember when a certain event happened there were like 180 or so players online marking the record which is quite impressive for a niche modded server due to the dragonball super ending and 1.7.10 losing popularity the playerbase of the dragonblock c mod began to shrink and our server was unfortunately nuked by a hired dev who got upset at the owner we tried to rebuild the server one more time and the motivation of the staff wasnt quite there we did try several projects afterwards but nothing ended up actually going public that server really meant a lot to be and partially inspired me to continue on the path i am on now that all happened during my last years of highschool and now im an apprentice programmer and my dream is to eventually make a game that makes at least some people happy which is why im starting to look at the pokemon community and their fangames/romhacks
The thing that killed the archon was changing owners, the new owner changed the server completely (economy, general goals for the server affecting gameplay) it became pay to win even with payouts for who paid the most money. They were resetting maps every month and people would still have 1000x golem grinders 20 chunk buffer walls 1st day in . They had payouts for the richest factions at the end of the month upwards of 250$, ultimately a money grab to get people to buy ranks and perks , crates to have an edge to win the rat race
i wish there were still servers who ran factions stilk (i haven’t been able to find any in years) as the last server i was in that had it was McOrigins until it shut down sometime in 2018/19 :(
Damn, I guess client requirements, non-clear EULA, corporate idiocy, competitiveness dying, the 1.9 update and Minecraft loosing popularity in it's old days really screw up servers.
Thank you for talking about Minecade! You definitely did your homework. Myself and some other friends of mine from the old Minecade community were very satisfied. Well done :)
tharchon was my absolute favourite server, it was kinda p2w but not to mutch. the unique skyblock plugins such as the mobcoin/mobcoinshop, robots, fishing and unique mobarmor made me love the server so mutch. I made so mutch memories on the server and am still very emotionial when i think back about the server. pls comeback someday!!!
No one talks about The Core MC. It was the best mini game server with the very best unique mini games. Roll the dice and control point were the best mini games I have ever played on any server.
Shieeeeeet, we going down the 6 years of nostalgia for me. I was a factions junkie. It gave me adrenaline that hunger games didn't really give because hunger games playstyle was very straightforward and predictable, but factions had way more dynamics to it and even had the fourth wall element of people using booters to boot people offline (back when Skype was a thing).
I used to main the super smash mob game back when it still existed and the super mario maker-esk gamemode was really fun! I know all about Minecade (when it was still up) and I wish I could go back to those days
as one of the minecade staff that resigned in the mass resignation in 2018 I really appreciated how you handled the topic minecade has been largely swept under the rug in recent years (largely due to the incompetence of the management) so it's nice to see it covered in any way
this vid brought back some great memories of the uhc and sg days. i miss watching huahwi destroying lobbies with a flint and steel and the xnestorio badlion uhc highlights
I appreciate these informational videos regarding servers and their statuses but there hasn't been a breaking minecraft vid is a while and I'm starting to miss those!
Lachlan’s factions server Treasure Wars was so good back in its day, in my opinion it shutting down made me the saddest out of every server that went down
The demise of TheArchon is actually so sad it was one of the staples of Minecraft Factions now it seems the gamemode as a whole even on newer servers is dying out wish more of the newer generation could have experienced the type of memories I made on TheArchon growing up. But I digress once again Epic amazing video.
I dont know if a German-Speaking Minecraft Player is here, but I liked Block City very much. It was mainly a City-Building Server combined with economy and some minor side Gamemodes. It used multiple worlds you were able to travel between using shields or commands. Sadly, due to a complicated mess at the EULA Crisis, the server has been closed. The Staff tried to revive it, but failed. Apperantly, the owner left with the money that was still there, but I dont know exactly what happend. I miss the community. The closing of the server lead to the end of my Minecraft playing time.
i kind of remember a server having a gamemode where a red and blue team would fight in an arena with a bow and arrow and i think also a iron sword while making forts with wool, i dont remember what server it was in but it was the glory days of my childhood
I just turned 18 last december and im already gonna start renting my own house (mybparents are not kicking me out there is just a complicated situation rn lol) but seeing all these servera fade away is just depressing it feels like my childhood is fading away sometimes, but im sure things will get better eventually, they always do,.god bless you all
I have a vauge memory of a server called lava-craft. Mainly a housing for plot builds and a huge collection of pixel art with some breif spleef and pvp arenas scattered around.
I'm really surprised TimelessPVP didn't make this list. Ssundee's factions series was super influential when he was in his prime and that server benefitted immensely from it
A few years ago I played a minecraft english and dutch server called Primemc every day. It was the way I met most of my online friends at the time and it was pretty much all I did. I came on one day and noticed the server icon changed, so I joined the server to see the Archon. I asked some of the staff members what happened and they said that PrimeMc got merged with Archon. Ever since then I have pretty much never seen those friends again. So sad that the Archon also got merged
I just thought about if the servers that I used to play are still up, and they are not. Wow I feel old now. It was a great time playing from 2011-2021 May the memories stay good ❤
Hive, MCSG, Shotbow, Jerry and Harry, The Fridge SG, NexusMC, TBNRNetwork, CosmicPVP, Badlion, Mineplex, and many more. Lots of great fun memories. We truly have gotten older and we are watching our childhood servers disappear infront of our eyes.
Where's MCPvP and Brawl!! MCPvP was one of the biggest servers in 2012/2013 and Brawl took over their gamemodes for something like $80,000 when they shut down
It's always great to see Minecade brought up again. I was a higher ranking managerial staff on there from its peak in 2014 to the 2018 debacle with the new owners where all the minecade staff resigned in a single day. It was truly a fiasco and it's a shame to see it dead now and managed by NFTbros. Thanks for letting people know about it and reminding them of minecade's (former) existence.
I used to play on this server called mineswine. It had a gamemode called Jedi Craft wich was like a starwars PVP gamemode. It also had a game called SGRL wich was survival games with guns. That server was great but it had ownership issues if I remember right, then it died.
this reminds me alot of what is happening with cubecraft, the server went from 30k active players a day to 2k active players a day because of one mistake they made, remove 1.8s servers, as you may know like in skyblock 1.8 is very limited in what you can do in it and seeing as cubecraft wanted to stand out they wanted to update, not to mention that it was the most played 1.8 server in europe seeing as the lag wasnt that bad and its pvp system didnt have many plugins making it feel odd (because so many europeans had bad ping on hypixel or didnt like hypixels feel, they went to cubecraft) but as i said i was talking about mistakes and in 2021 they made the announcement that they were to shut down all 1.8 servers for the 1.12 servers to still go on, clans like lk were basically scrambling all the players they could have for 1.12's pvp system because when it hit, most 1.8 players stopped playing making several clans stop and that makinga ripple effect to 1.12 players in clans that stopped because of their dead clan, right now cube has 1-2k active players at one time with most gamemodes having been deleted indefinitely
I used to watch Preston and Woofless' Cosmic factions series' pretty much daily growing up, at the time, Preston was my favourite RU-vidr and this was before his content went super children-focused and I really enjoyed it. While I never joined the server, I still knew alot about the server from these videos, like what all the custom enchantments did etc. If the server hadn't gone extremely P2W or needed some random client to play, I probably would've at least checked it out, as it looked like quite alot of fun otherwise. It probably would've hurt less if the server had just closed instead of going P2W.
I don't usually like playing on servers in Minecraft, and literally the only 2 servers I got genuinely invested in both got shut down, one by the owner and one from literally getting a C&D from Mojang
MCPVP was awesome. they had survival games, some murder catcher game, ctf, smash bros (or something similar), skywars (I think..?). Wish all of it could exist in newer versions with the same community. Runecraft was a popular server owned by SitaruRadu, classic economy/power based factions; where you had to kill the faction members to lower their power, then overclaim their land to be able to break blocks, open chests etc. Edawg878 was sold out and has been very inactive, used to be a fun pvp server (even though it was creative plots).
There was this one server called antcraft that I used to play on. One day, the website and server disappeared completely, claiming they were hacked. Many who used to play on it theorise the owner just took the money from it and ran.
Man I miss the old cosmic, I played on the first demon planet season and fell in love with cosmic and factions, I want to recreate the old factions but add the new enchants and such, like 10 lores etc. i do miss old cosmic.
not so recent anymore, but one of the servers i liked to play on most was grians server. there was a really cool disaster survival minigame. i feel like grian might be able to bring it back since his channel has become really big since then but maybe he just doesnt want to
One of my favourite servers that came and went so quickly was VikkCraft owned by the popular mc RU-vidr at the time, Vikkstar123. I remember playing survival games and skywars so much on that server until the day it shut down. Another server I loved was The Hive, and seeing it shutdown not too long ago really sucked. Me and my friend used to play Hive hunger games every single day with our old laptops side by side. Nothing will beat 2013-2015 Minecraft for me
A few of my favorites that shut down were The Nexus, MCPvp, MineHQ (which fun fact would eventually become Lunar), VeltPvP and ItsJerryAndHarry to name a few
heck yeah Minecade! That was one of my favorite servers, I liked all of the SethBling games on there (and at least one or two others) and Super Craft Brothers is still my favorite! Hopefully the Nexly Network gets more attention. I remember there being another server that had Dwarves vs. Zombies (not the one that split from PlayMindcrack), but I forgot what it was called. I guess it was shortlived, though. There was also a server with a variation of Smash Bros. (had character names such as “Browser” instead of “Bowser”) and another with SethBling’s Ghost Recon, I wish I remembered what they were called… Still miss the Gazamo server, too.
Minecade makes me sad. Super Minecraft Maker was one of my favorite things to play when i was a kid, and i saw some cool as fuck stuff done with it. Sure, it wasnt uncommon to see a lag machine, but i also saw wonderful levels made, like short adventures, awesome redstone, and just a shitton of fun stuff. There was this guy, back when i played; their name started with a b iirc, but i cant really remember. But they made utterly *amazing* redstone, with the limited space. I vaguely remember some other people too that I often saw, but I can't quite remember their names. That being said, I made so many goddamn good memories there, and it really saddens me to see what it turned into after i had left.
CraftCadia was one of the great PvP servers I’ve found back in the day. It merged with LethalPVP in 2012 and closed abruptly in 2016 due to poor leadership practices. it’s coming back online at some point, but when… not sure.
Alright you got my attention now, ive subscribed. (Edit: i almost never subscribe to channels where i just watch a couple of vids so yk this channels good)
it makes me sad seeing all these servers shut down. in elementary & middle school i was huge into UHC and Factions servers, i almost never played Minecraft on a single player world unless i was going to play over LAN with someone. some of my best memories come from playing UHC, Factions, and even some of the minigame servers. it's sad to see it slowly dying but i hope there may be a revival, especially with people bringing back a lot of things that bring them nostalgia. i loved playing survival games as well, and while i did have java edition (which is where i played most of the time at home unless someone came over and didn't have a laptop or computer), i had pocket edition to play while i was at school and remember when they finally added servers and some of the first ones that got popular were survival games servers. they were good times and i miss them. i play on bedrock so that i can play with my friends on consoles but nothing beats those java servers in my opinion. i used to also play on an ATLA based server with one of my friends. i'm pretty sure it's either shut down or got a complete overhaul of everything but i always loved those types of servers as well.
