"cheese machine" is the old colloquial term for the string machines of the 70s, a particular breed of synths that were supposed to replicated string sounds using a technique known as divide-down oscilators, obviously they never got close to real sound but they have a distinct sound now.

Halftime in Ableton like Halftime plugin 1 - Drop a audio file inside a audio clip 2 - Set warp to Beats mode 3 - Transpose down 12 semitones ( down 1 octave) 4 - Set preserve time on 1 Bar 5 - Set transient loop mode on Back/Forward () Bonus tip Stutter/Gate effect 1 - Follow Step 1 & 2 from above and 3 optional if you want to use Halftime and add Stutter/Gate effect 2 - Change Preserve Timing (1/4, 1/8, 1/16 so on) 3 - Set Transient Loop Forward only (------>) 4 - Change Transient Envelope to lower value (50 works well) to get Stutter/ Gate effect

The free plugin that recommend is Prisma, a multiband distortion (up to 4 bands instead of 3) that you can add soft, hard clip, sample divide and pan the certain frequencies that doesn’t do one internal sound.

Thank you very much and great question! I think the world of making music with computers is still confined to the grid and sqaureness of every DAW. Any hypothetical plugin that could break out of that mould and offer producers an alternative way to get creative would be great! Equally each and every DAW could put some effort into this too, the responsibility falls on everyone, not just plugin companies. I like to imagine a sonic sandbox where audio knows no bounds. What exactly that means or looks like, i'm not sure. However I believe somebody can work it out haha Anything you'd like to see my friend?

Haha bad news my friend! That’s my real acoustic guitar. I recorded my gf playing it to make that loop. It’s part of a few guitar samples I recorded for my Sonic Textures sample pack. You can check it out if you’re interested but sadly no vst plugin used! Thanks for the comment my friend💪

the EQ in Flex Reverb affect only the reverb or will I still have to set up a send to do that?

Great question dude! The separate dry and wet knobs allow you to apply the plugin directly to the channel. So you can use the EQ on just the reverb very easily. I hope im explaining it well but yea just play around with those knobs and youll understand what i mean. Thanks for the comment my friend💪

Hey my friend, yes they can do that. But if you don’t understand the difference yet that’s all cool, that just means you need to play with the DAW stock plugins until you understand them and know their limitations. Then you’ll understand why sometimes these additional plugins are useful! I know that doesn’t answer your question exactly but it’s the best advice I can give💪
