I am so happy to hear these ideas will be helpful you this week.💜🙏 Hope you and your family are doing ok. Have a great week and thank you for being here!
I remember growing up my mom would go to several different stores to grocery shop cuz she got coupons and things and I think we are going to have to revert to that again.
I do this. I make sure to include stores that are close to my various errands so for me [ retired, cook for one], grocery shopping is an ongoing process. I always look at clearance and sale items first !
Terrific recipes and lots of veggies. I am tired of " budget" videos that stress adding more carbs to fill in a meal. You have proven it is possible to have a nutritionous meal which includes veggies, protein and carbs
The average American does not eat the properly sized portions of any food, so that's why you are going to see a lot of carb-loaded meals from "extreme budget" creators. The reason she can afford to use whole ingredients in her extreme budget meals is because she serves the correctly sized portions for a healthy individual.
I want to thank you from my heart. These budget meals saved me and my daughter through some hard times. Even now, I fix these dinners. I do modify them as I have the money. For instance, my daughter loves the Chicken Noodle Casserole, but instead of canned chicken, I add some Limon Pepper baked chicken and fresh celery. That one casserole will feed us for 3-4 days. I did finally get your cookbook. I do find it difficult to work in new dishes because we have so many favorites from the budget dishes. Thank you so much and God bless you.
Thank you so very much for sharing your experience with me. That just means the world to me to know that my videos have helped you and your daughter. Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing that with me! I’m happy to hear that things have gotten better for you and I thank you so very much for your positive feedback about my cookbook too. Thank you so much for your RU-vid friendship here and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week💜💜
Id actually shop the sales to stockpile a pantry of what you know you will eat, a little work to know things you need but you already have a budget so should be easy.
This is a tremendous help in times of the highest grocery prices we’ve ever seen. I appreciate you and the magic you create in these yummy affordable recipes ❤️
You gotta invest to pressure cooker and you could make pinto beans/black beans stew with shanks/ meat bones for protein for about $7 a pound and that would last you for 2 weeks. Also beef bones/cow's feet with cabbage or potatoes with about $9 for 2 weeks serving. Chicken things or legs or chicken quarters are very cheap with some green vegetables like a bag of Brussel sprouts, asparagus, Swiss chard or string beans with a total of $8,75 and would last you for 10 days. Check some recipes and see what you like and easy for you to cook and affordable.
I have been watching your videos for a while now and can say without a doubt, you are my favorite. I am a bachelor who is always on a budget and was tired of cheap bland food. I cook more than I ever have and have enjoyed every recipe I have tried that you presented. What I appreciate the most is the care you have for everyone. It reflects in your demeanor and in the food you cook and the recipes you show us. I just bought your e-cookbook and look forward to many many more great meals. Thank you so much for who you are and what you do.
Well that is just the best feedback ever! Thank you so very much for sharing that with me. I am really happy to hear that my meals have helped you so much and that you have become such a good cook in the process. I really do appreciate your kind words and support here and thank you so much again for this positive feedback🙌🏼🙌🏼
Julia, you have outdone yourself AGAIN!! I don't know how you never run out of ideas for recipes. I'll be trying some of these immediately! I look forward to your videos every week and am so happy that it's always easy to find the ingredients, easy to put them together, and they turn out very tasty! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your hard work with all of us internet friends. ❤
Well thank you so much, Michelle!! Your love and support means so much to me. I appreciate your positive feedback and hope that these ideas help you with your budget this week. I do appreciate your RU-vid friendship and everybody else’s. Thank you so much for your great support and you have a great week😊💛😊
This is my favorite yet! Low meat, high in beans, moderate carbs. Everything looks scrumptious! Thank you for providing reasonable options during trying times.
Same. We dropped our daughter off at college Thur. We miss her so much!! :( Our food budget for her is $70 a week, she has a severe dairy allergy so even though we had to pay for the meal plan this yr, she's not eating at the college cafeteria. We're watching our food budget here @ home so that we can afford to give her enough $ to eat there.
@bravoaddictAnn We miss our daughter, too, and she just now called me, crying that she's "homesick" and that she misses our dog, Max! I know it will get easier, but it's hard to hear her crying 😢. We are budgeting, too! There is a Trader Joe's near my daughter's apartment, and the prices are pretty good - thankfully! I appreciate your message - nice to know someone else is in this boat with me. ❤️
People bitching about “processed foods” and all that have never and will never understand what it means to just HAVE edible food. I grew up in a trailer where we didn’t even really have a stove just a microwave. My meals as a kid were commonly just a microwaved can of corn or peas. You use ingredients in the forms I’m familiar with and it’s so amazing that I can make actual hearty meals from them. I’ve been looking for someone who cooks like this. Thank you!!
Thank you so very much, Lucy. I appreciate you sharing your experience here. And I am happy to hear that you enjoy my channel. Thank you so much for your great support and I hope you have a good day💛💛💛
Just an idea for someone doing this. If you find kale cheap, it could give you a side salad with the carrot and onion. Kale would also give you the option of adding Sausage, kale and white bean soup as another meal option.
Wow Julia, I’ve been watching you when you had around 50,000 subscribers and remember thinking you deserved so much more. Now I see you’re close to a million! You’re helping so many of us ❤
Girl! You are absolutely brilliant in the kitchen. You have so much creativity and your ideas are so good. I can't thank you enough for all of the hard work that goes into making these videos. The planning of the meals is what I'm so very thankful for. I have zero creativity. Keep up the good work, Julia.
Thank you so much! You are so kind and I appreciate the positive feedback so much. Most importantly, I am so happy to hear that my meals have helped you so much. Have a great rest of your week😊💛
Julia, I really appreciate that you do these money-saving recipes because you know we are struggling with grocery prices so high. Thank you for understanding the situation many of us are in and still making recipes for us that are both nutritious and delicious. You are now the only YT cook I follow since the others have no consideration for ingredient prices. YOU are the best! (My daughter has recently begun cooking with cannellini beans and they are dee-lish!)
That is wonderful feedback! I appreciate that so much and it really does mean a lot to me. Thank you so very much for making me your favorite! I’m so happy to have you here and hope you enjoy some of these meals as well, Rachelle💛😊💛
These are just wonderful budget-friendly meals! I just LOVE your gentle, subtle sense of humor in the videos! HAHA! 😄 So good to get a peep at your family while you were shopping, too! 🥰 Thank you, as always, for the great work you do, Julia. You help so many people to be creative in the kitchen when it is hard to make ends meet. Blessed week ahead to you and your family! 😊❤
Thanks so much! 😊 I really do appreciate your wonderful feedback and it is such a nice compliment too😊 I sure do appreciate you, Laura and thank you so very much for watching!!
I think of a young family when I watch your videos, but with soaring food prices these are great for anyone these days. For a family with children it's so good many schools offer breakfast and lunches for children of income challenged families and along with these budget meals, children get the nutrition they need to be healthy. Thank you.
Thank you so much for that positive comment. And yes, the schools to help a lot with that. Hopefully these meals help! Thanks so much for watching, Tyna💜💜
I have so much respect for you for doing these videos! You saved my family and I when I had virtually no income for a month. So thankful for more of these ❤
Well that is just the best news ever today, Elizabeth. Thank you so very much for sharing that with me and I do hope that things have gotten better for you and your family. It makes you feel so good when you’re able to make a meal for your family and not go broke🙏💛
You are the best, Norah! Your love and support means so much. I think so much for being such a great cheerleader of mine and I hope you have a great week💜💜💜💜
We shopped using this grocery list today! I already had a can of garbanzo beans, chili beans, and frozen peas at home (and all the spices), so I did not have to buy those. But, even with not getting as good of bargains on some items as Julia found, we still spent only $24.48 at our local WinCo! So, if I did have to buy two more cans of beans, that would have just been a couple of dollars more, and we probably don't "need" the peas, given the size of frozen mixed veggies we purchased. I could have also saved a dollar by choosing a different brand for the smoked sausage, but I went with what I know we like. Also, the only brand of roasted tomatoes our store carried was rather pricey, so I bet I could have saved at least a dollar by buying that elsewhere. This is completely doable for $25!
Wow, Kathy, thank you so very much for sharing that awesome comparison! That definitely helps me and others to know what they can get a different grocery stores. I really do appreciate that positive comment and I hope that you enjoy some of these meals this week. You take care of yourself and have a wonderful week💛😊💛
You are so amazing Julie. I have been here since you had around 150-200 subs. I remember saying you deserved over 100,000 subs and here we are. Almost 900,000!!! You deserve so much more. We all adore you and thank you for helping all of us.❤
You are absolutely the BEST!!! Thank you so very much for hanging in there with me for so very long. It means the world to me to have had my loyal supporters here throughout my journey. I love you all so much! And yes! I am working hard to reach my goal🙌🏼🙌🏼💛💛
I know it sounds weird but I find your voice really soothing and it puts me to sleep almost instantly 😅 I’ve been struggling with insomnia and difficulties with falling asleep my whole life and your videos help me a lot.
@@kimcheelove thanks for your recommendation 😊 I’ll definitely check her out . Personally , I find cooking videos with female voice over more relaxing than the kind of videos with just pure sound asmr.
I work at a farmers market. Any "bad veggies" get tossed. Me and a coworker will go thru the boxes of "bad veggies" and take what we want and can use. And when I say "bad" i mean one of two soft spots. Definitely a nice bonus to have access to free fresh produce.
I use your cookbook 2-3 times a week. It is wonderful. Love cooking potatoes in the crockpot, so they are in hand for quick hash browns or stuffers. I am keep small pieces from smoked sausage in freezer for toppers. I thank you everyday for you easy budget friendly recipes. ❤❤❤❤
Great ideas! And thank you so very much for your shout out about my cookbook. I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying it so much! Have a great rest of your week, Colette and I sure do appreciate your support💜🙌🏼💜
Thank you. As a solo person, for $25, this would give me lunches and dinners for close to a month, especially, if I add a small green salad to the meals.
Another GREAT video, Julia! You have come up with amazing and delicious ideas that are affordable, nutritious and so colourful. This channel has changed people's lives and helped so many of us! Thank you for all the hard work you do! Blessings to you and your sweet family! ❤😊
Michelle! Thank you so much for that wonderful feedback. I am so happy to hear that my ideas have helped you so much💜🙏 thank you so very much for your love and support here and I hope you enjoy some of these meals this week too!
Wow! I'm amazed by how you were able to make all that for around $25!! I'm definitely going to try these. And I have to say, you have the most joyful sounding voices. You are so encouraging to listen to! 🥰
I sure do appreciate that! Thank you so much for your kind words and that positive feedback too. It means a lot! I do hope that these ideas help you with your budgeting needs😊
It blows my mind that the groceries in Canada (Ontario) are literally twice the price of what you're paying, Julia! I love the inspiration of these videos regardless of the grocery prices here.
That is exactly what I hear! I am so sorry that prices are so high there in Canada. And I do appreciate your positive comment. Thank you so very much for your great support and hope you can use some of these ideas, Rachel💛💛💛
I like the Cannolini beans. I used them to make Minestrone soup. They are a good way to add protein into your diet. With prices so high I really appreciate your recipes that will feed a hungry family on a budget. 💕💕💕To you and your beautiful girls and family.
I’ve just found you and I’m so glad. Even though I’ve been cooking for 40 years, it’s so great to get new ideas and actually see them put together. I get so tired of the same old stuff. Hubby and I really want to cut our food expenses and eat less meat and these were great! Thanks for putting this out there for us!
I am so happy you found me too! Thank you so much for joining me here and I really do hope that you enjoy my meals. It’s so easy to get in a rut when it comes to cooking🥴 thank you so much for that great feedback and welcome to my RU-vid family, Angela !💜💜
Ha. I am 5foot 2 inches I am always climbing shelves in wal-mart. People laugh, or if close enough help. Its an ice breaker too. Cool people exist in this world and are happy to help shorter people.
That is awesome! You are so right, Other people are definitely able and willing to help. Thank you so much for sharing that and I love all of the other responses here🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for the helpful recipes and cooking tips! Even those of us that are older, I’m 74, find out new ways to combine different things for a tasty cheap meal!
You are so very welcome! And I’m happy to hear that they help you and that you’re able to maybe save some money along the way. You take care of yourself💜🙏
I’m so happy to hear that these meals sound so good to you, Connie! And that is such wonderful feedback too. I appreciate it so very much! You have a great rest of your day and I appreciate your RU-vid friendship💛😊💛
Oh my dear friend l have most of the ingredients at home going to Walmart for a few ingredients and l can't wait to start cooking. Give the girls hugs and kisses. May God bless y'all sweetie 🙏 👵
You should check out amazon for all the knorr pasta and rice sides, they have them for $1 or less either singles or in 8 packs. The price changes so we just keep an eye and stock up when on sale. Amazon lately has been having alot of canned goods cheaper than anything I can get lately.
Wow! That is amazing advice. Thank you so very much for sharing that great tip here with for everybody to see and I sure do appreciate you watching🙌🏼🙌🏼
Julia, you've done it again! These budget meals look yummy. I will be trying several of them. The sweet potato chili looks so appetizing to me. I hope you and your family have a great week. I will be back next week to see what you've got cooking. Take care.
I hope you enjoy them this week! And your loyal support means the world to me every week. I hope you know that! Have a great week and take care of yourself💜💜💜
With the cost of groceries continuing to climb, it is such a great idea to have these recipes to go to when it's getting close to payday! One dish we love is Zatarain's Jambalaya Rice mix. The family size is under $3 and I just add some cut up smoked sausage for a delicious meal!!
Julia, you are such a great inspiration and love what you do. So many people are benefiting from your videos and inspiration. Thank you for being you and keep going. You're the best and Loved. 🥰🥰
Well thank you so much! I sure do appreciate that wonderful comment. I really do hope that my videos make a difference! Thank you so very much again for your kind words and support💜
Thank you so very much! You are so kind. I’m so happy to hear that these meals have helped you these past months. I sure hope things can turn around for you soon and have a wonderful rest of your day💜💜
You are a gem. You're changing the way I think of a home cooked meal. What's strange is my mom would cook like this when I was little, but I was never interested in cooking budget friendly meals. Things are tighter than they've ever been for me lately, and I know my mom would be proud of me for learning, even if it wasn't from her. I'd like to add that I went to Walmart and got exactly what you did, and it came out to be a little over $30. I have suspected for a while that food prices here in Pennsylvania are more expensive than some other states.
Price is definitely very from area to area, that is for sure! And thank you so much for your positive comment. You are so very kind! I don’t think any of us were super interested in budgeting when we were at home. Ha ha! But so good you have that great example. Thank you so much for your comment and I hope you enjoy some of these meals💜💜
I'm so greatful for your tutorials. Ive made so many of your recipes and they've become a permanent part of my rotation. I know it's also unintentional, but your recipes are so easy to convert to being vegetarian just by choosing plant based meat instead or regular meat. I really appreciate you!
That makes me very happy! I appreciate you sharing that with me and I am so happy to hear that you are able to make those substitutions with my recipes. I think you so very much for that positive feedback and I am so happy to have you here as one of my RU-vid friends💛💛
These all look so delicious! And you're right, you don't always have to have meat in your meal, if you have beans or something like sweet potatoes its really high protein and you don't have all the things they give animals. I love meals with lots of veggies in them. That's what most of us grew up on, our parents couldn't afford alot of meat, unless it was for Sunday or holidays. I've never had chick peas. What is the texture of those like? I might try, but they look like they are hard, and I don't know. I loved seeing your beautiful family! Have a blessed week Julia! 💕
Thank you so very much, Jerri! I hope you enjoy some of these meals and I appreciate all of that positive feedback. Chickpeas have kind of a creamy texture after they are soaked. Depending on how they are cooked, they can definitely be softer and texture. I hope this helps! I’m not sure if I made much sense. Ha ha! Thanks so much for your great comment my friend and have a wonderful week🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much! We have also been shocked by even the increase in canned goods 😢 but your recipes have been an eyeopener in versatility without eating only boxed food!
🎉 This is how granny cooked in the depression save everything to use later in a dish no waste. This is where the world is headed. Stock up if something is on sale couple cans a week. Don't pay full price. Thanks for the ideas
I agree with you! I cannot stand to buy anything that is not on sale. And I appreciate your positive comment. My grandmother lived through the depression and that is exactly how they survived🙌🏼
Boxed and canned food is not healthy...........fulll of nitrates and sodium....mac and chemical cheese........white rice.............just eat real food.....who eats crap like this.......
Well thank you so very much! That’s wonderful feedback. And I really do appreciate it. Hope you enjoy some of these meals and that they help you with your budgeting needs💛💛
@@JuliaPacheco health is more important than a budget meal that promotes obesity in children and adults, diabetes, high blood pressure, these canned and packaged foods have zero nutritional value ,foods like this make people end up on so much medication. Soak real beans, crush fresh tomatoes, use lentils , brown rice, real food. You know NOTHING about nutritious food. You are on RU-vid for the money , raised 5 kids ,4 football playing sons and my daughter, never fed them badly like your recipes and on a budget......why do you think this channel of yours is right in anyway, how ,why ? You don't even have a correct answer or won't answer......play the ignorant card.
Thank you so much, Bridget. I definitely hope that these ideas help you during this time😉 and I appreciate your positive words here. You have a wonderful rest of your day💛💛
I love your sayings at the side of your stove and enjoy them changing each time. You have a super cute personality and I enjoy how simple, cheap, and easy they are!
I just now got home from grocery shopping for one. I usually go to Aldi but today I went to Walmart because I had a $50 gift card that I had been holding on too. I made a list from the Walmart store website. It still was hard but I spent $46.82 for about probably for me two and a half weeks. These recipes are helpful.
That is awesome that you have two weeks of food now to work with. Thank you so much for sharing that and I am so happy to have you here. Have a great rest of your week😊🙌🏼
Thank you for all your videos. My daughter-in-law grew up in NM and went to college in OK, so sometimes I’m not sure what to cook for them because her tastes are different than mine and my sons. And your recipes are always a big hit with her. ❤ I had replacement knee and hip surgeries so I had to move in with them while I recovered. So I try to keep their home clean and cook their meals since I haven’t been able to work.
I am so very happy to hear that my meals have helped you so much and that your daughter-in-law likes them too. That is awesome! And I’m so happy to hear that you have them to live with as you are rehabilitating. That sounds like you had some difficult surgeries! Take care of yourself and thank you so much for your positive comment💛😊💛
Hi Julia! Thank you for the great meal ideas! Grocery prices are crazy so it's nice to see new healthy meal ideas that fits anyone's budget. Have a great week! God bless you!
Good morning Julia how are you doing today 💞❤ I hope you and your family are having a wonderful day ❤️ and by the way that was a wonderful grocery haul❤
this is second or third video i watched and i just want to say thank you as a student with limited access to kitchen utensils (dormitary) and time.I appreciate almost all of the recipes are one pot,on stove and healy&balanced ,they are actually doable for me unlike most of youtube meal prep videos just subscribed, thanks a lot julia ❤
Well I am so very happy to hear that! Thank you so much for sharing what you will do with my recipes. I’m happy that they will be so useful for you in the dorm. I hope you have a wonderful school year and thank you so very much for subscribing. Welcome to my RU-vid family!😊
Everything looks amazing! I have your recipe book, I’ve made several of your recipes. Yesterday I made your Honey Bun Cake, it was so delicious, my family loved it!! Your carrot cake recipe is the best one I’ve ever eaten. I love how easy your recipes are to follow. Have a super blessed day and enjoy your beautiful family!❤❤❤❤
Thank you so very much, Barbara! And I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying my cookbook too. I’ll have to let my mom know about how much you enjoyed that carrot cake😉 You have a great week and thank you so very much for your wonderful comment!!
Your recipes and budgeting is helping me, my neighbours, friends and family and prove that cheap can also be nutritious. I've managed to cut my eldest's family food budget in half, and their fridge and cupboards are now expensive ultra processed convenience food free.
Wow! Thank you so very much for that great feedback and I am so happy to hear that your family and friends have benefited from my meals. That just makes my day! Thank you so much for letting me know and I hope you have a wonderful weekend😊💛
I'm always ready for a new video. Love your enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing your recipes and taking us along when shopping. Most of all the time it takes to cook, film edit and to raise a young family. 😊
Oh, Sharon, thank you so very much. It is a lot of work for sure, but I love it. And I sure do love all of you and your great support. You’re awesome and I hope these ideas help this week💛💜
You definitely could add to any of these recipes to make it a heartier meal for him. Thank you so much for your feedback and I hope you have a great week😊
I bought the cookbook and followed the meal planning you put together. Thank you so much! I’m excited to try your recipes this week! You help so many families with this video ❤
That is just wonderful! Thank you so much, Leah for your great feedback about my cookbook and my meal plan. I really do appreciate you sharing it here and I hope that some of these meals help you this week too💜💜
@@conniehahn4577 Connie do you get a high off of harassing people who are just trying to help someone not try to sound wrong for mispronouncing something and I spelled it that way for enunciation but apparently you just like to harass 60 year old people who were try to be nice Connie. They said Connie was the new Karen and now I completely understand why. You are just mean and have to try to make yourself feel above others. Hope it worked. Have a blessed day.
@@conniehahn4577 you know what Connie, I am going to do one better, I am just going to unsubscribe even though I really like this young lady and her recipes but since I thought I was being helpful and you just came at me I hope you found yourself helpful to Julia, losing her a subscriber. You are totally wonderful aren’t you. Enjoy your day.
So I followed this meal plan and every meal was delicious! BUT I genuinely thought the Mediterranean bowls would be my least favorite so I made them first to “get them out of the way” and let me tell you.. I just made them again for dinner because they are absolutely phenomenal! So glad I decided to try them. Will be a regular for me. Thank you for all your hard work and kindness❤
Wow! That is awesome news. Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback about those Mediterranean bowls. And I’m so happy to hear that my meal plan has worked for you. Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback and I appreciate your kind words💜💜
Technically...baby carrots are not cut from larger carrots. They are just pulled before they grow to maturity. Baby-cut carrots are cut from full size carrots. And macaroni, those pasta sides and biscuits are NOT healthy...misleading title. And Walmart canned soups are known to have metal in them, also not healthy.
Originally baby carrots were created to help misshapen carrots get sold. They weren't selling so they turned them into "baby carrots" and boom, they sold. Not sure what the process is these days though
You will find most everything is contracted out for most all products. Most all large companies make products for the other labels....its not wal mart ! They are distributed by them...not made by them. Read labels! You will find ...low in sugar...then high in sodium and fats. Low in fat.. High in sugar and sodium ...its just a big circle. I'm diabetic...numbers are under controll. It's portion sizes ...I buy wheat pastas when on sale. Everyone has to buy and eat what budgets allow for. This girl gives a lot of options for cooking.....they help me plan meals!
@@conniehahn4577 The study I read specifically mentioned Great Value (Walmart) had a high amount of micro metal in their canned soups. Other brands weren't found to have this high amount. You can blame it on whatever you want, but if they were all packaged at the same place, they'd all have the same amount of metal in them.
As a single person, this looks like way too much food for me for 1 week, but i think I could make most of these for the week and have left overs for lunch every day. Thank you for the grocery list and recipes. Its budget friendly but this is also very friendly for someone like me who has ADHD and has a really hard time planning these things out. I always appreciate your videos, I use them a lot and has helped make cooking and meal planning easier.
I i’m so very happy to hear that these ideas will help! And yes, they’re great for lunch for the next day. And I know my mom only cooks for her and my dad and sometimes cuts the recipes in half and still can have leftovers depending on what the meal is. I hope this helps and thank you so very much for your wonderful support😊🙌🏼
Anyone who doesn't want to use Knorr cubes or equivalent can make their own chicken stock or Boullion cubes from scratch. It's not difficult, but not everyone wants to do it. They don't negate the recipe or meal idea. A lot of Julia's meals are meant to be quick and use minimal ingredients and the Knorr cubes don't take away the nutrients in the vegetables, meat, et cetera in the meal.
