A video lecture on the history behind the fascination with the number "7" and the origins of the mysticism behind this special number. (My first video with high production values--special effects by Tim Amko, Digital Media student)
7 neck bones, 7 tarsal bones, 7 orbital bones, 7 holes in the head, 7 colors of the rainbow, 7 primary odors, 7 basic sensations, 7 basic sound notes, Golden ratio (Phi) 1.618 (adding all numbers reduced to 7). Jesus 7 prophetic parables in Matthew, 7 parts of the Lord's prayer, 7 healing miracles at Sabbath (3 congenital 4 acquired) , 7 metaphors to describe himself (bread of life, light of the world, gate to salvation, good shepherd, the resurrection, the way, truth and life, the vine), 7 last words on the cross...Seven is truly God's favorite number!
I was told 7 is a mystical number because it refers to the state of physical limitation, you can't fold a sheet of paper more than 7 times, it is literally true, whether its extrapolation actually has legitimacy in any other sense is debatable, I wouldn't know
can you explain "Golden ratio (Phi) 1.618 (adding all numbers reduced to 7)" ?. I am trying to confirm this as true, but i have been having trouble calculating it (not the best at math lol). thank you.
You’re one of the best at this. I know how many joules it takes to make one of these videos, and I can see that you put a lot of work into this one... I really hope you don’t give up, as there are so many people like me who need this. You don’t need perfect production values to explain these beautiful ideas. Dan Carlin doesn’t even need a video form, he uses words to create images in your mind, and I see you as the Dan Carlin of Philosophy. You have a talent for using your voice to explain things in an engaging way, you take us to that place, and your love for the subject is completely obvious. Just write and get your voice out there. You can always come back and remaster your content into a more perfect form.
I've always had a faszination for the number 7. You are a blessing for putting out this video as well put together and well explained in a simple yet insanely informational way. I learned so much and sincerely thank you, never stop, this is art. Kind regards - a stranger
7 is an amazing magic number. On my written list of things to do each day I always list 7 tasks to complete sometime during the day. I rarely do not finish the 7 tasks. This is a good video.
Love and blessings to you George mixed with fun and laughter and joy with infinite wealth and wisdom throughout the generations ❤️ ✨️ 💖. 7"em hunnit blessings to you and your views
The Septanary is inescapable, for The Ancient looked to the Stars. There are 7 Eternal principles, and the are 6 absolute directions and 1 piont in the center. Making 7 Spatial pionts. There are 7 natural colors as well.
The quality of not only the information but the video itself is unrivaled by companies with 7 figure budgets. Please make more lectures and content in general and thank you for your contributions to knowledge.
A lot of people assume that to be the case because the story in Genesis is all they know; but a deeper dive into the evidence reveals a more complex story. Cultures around the world develop a fascination with the #7 as soon as they develop astronomy and note the seven special lights that don't act like the rest of the stars--there is a clear link between astronomy and mystical association with the number seven. But there is zero evidence the pre-conquest Hebrews observed a seven-day week, we know with certainty that the Babylonians did, and that when the Hebrews left Babylonian captivity with their newly written codification of what had been an oral tradition, a seven day week was part of it in one of the two creation stories in Genesis. You might want to watch my video lecture on the Creation Stories of Genesis (yes, there are two, not just one) as it explores the evidence for Babylonian influence on Gen. 1 in more detail: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tiXnczrEd2c.html
seven is surely a magical number. I love subjects like this. In mathematics, seven has many interesting properties. Seven does not divide evenly into 360 (degrees in a circle). I think it is the only number that cannot.
It also doesn’t divide into 60 with its answer being a recurring sequence of decimals. This was extremely mysterious to ancient mathematicians in China who based their numerical and economical system on the number 60. (You might want to research this a little more though cos I could have misremembered slightly)
@@kingraul9272 I use 3-6-9 in my practices...it is powerful. It is true that what you do comes back to you three times three times three, so I be good! 😊 and tesla was someone they all should have listened to and respected. Instead they went with the 'other' for greedy purposes. What a shame. And now the earth's inhabitants are paying for it three times three times three. Can we escape it? - Us? The ones who are not greedy and being used? Who knows. I expect there is a tiny bit of greed in all of us which we must be mindful of.
i have a theory were if someone throughly studied every religion, philosophy, and mythology overtime they would come across various synchronicities that could trace back to a lost religion or “The Truth”
And many have done just that. In the Italian Renaissance, the humanist scholar Pico della Mirandola read literally every book available to him, from standard Christian theology, Muslim and Jewish religious texts, and books on magic, alchemy and astrology, along with a lot of obscure esoteric numerology, and came to the grand conclusion that human beings have no innate nature at all, but "seeds pregnant with all possibilities"--whatever we choose to cultivate, that we shall become. It is for him the true meaning of "free will." Track down his "Oration on the Dignity of Man" and read what he has to say.
@@georgebrooks7775 you are a source for young philosophers. stay true to your purpose. i am doing my due diligence on the “Oration on the Dignity of Man” i notice the synchronicities. i believe the most high is in simple terms, energy. positive energy.
Very interesting!....but what do you think about this explanation: if you consider rational numbers a/b where a and b are natural numbers between (or equal to) 1 a 6 , all are musical ratios , but if we allow 7 in this list most of the ratios involving 7 can not be music ratios. So seventh day "should" be the end of the week and only for rest!
Because this video was on the ancient origins of 7 mysticism, and ancient and medieval writings on the rainbow only recognized four colors. There wasn't even a word for "orange" until the Italian Renaissance--before then, they only vaguely recognized "red-yellow" as the in-between state between those two colors.
@@georgebrooks7775 Medieval plainchant did not use the tritone interval; using B flat instead of B in a C scale avoids it. So B flat was called "B" in that scale, leaving B natural in need of a different name. This has stuck in German notation all the way to the present.
I think there's a lot of evidence that the number 7 represents a particular point of stillness, inertia, axis, nucleus, void, formless, center of rotation... Like the center of the Storm at the N. Pole of Saturn or the first circle in the Flower of Life... ⚛️🔯
Hebrews did originally come from the land of Shinaar, the seven day creation account could have easily been written originally as well. Besides, Moses was trained in all the learning of the Egyptians, who were also known for their mysticism, wisdom and stargazing.
Great video, however if I can recommend, I do think that you should get to the topic sooner and not stretch the intro too much, an intro is meant to capture attention and you did that, but the longer you wait to dive into the importance of 7, the less attention to keep, I say this with consideration and I intend to help you improve 😅❤ great detail, and you don't have to show yourself, your voice is fitted perfectly already and great content is more than enough 🙂
Questioner: Then this light which forms the seven densities has what we call color. This color is divided into seven categories. Can you tell me if there is a reason or explanation for these categories of color? _Ra: I am Ra. This will be the last complete question of this session as this instrument is low on vital energy. We will answer briefly and then you may question further in subsequent sessions._ _The nature of the vibratory patterns of your universe is dependent upon the configurations placed upon the original material or light by the focus or Love using Its intelligent energy to create a certain pattern of illusions or densities in order to satisfy Its own intelligent estimate of a method of knowing Itself. Thus the colors, as you call them, are as straight, or narrow, or necessary, as is possible to express, given the will of Love._ _There is further information which we shall be happy to share by answering your questions. However, we do not wish to deplete this instrument. Is there a short query necessary before we leave?_ *Ra Material* (1981)
1st day we create intention 2nd day we quantify 3rd day we bring to form 4th day we nourish the form for expansion 5th day we teach 6th day we set free of the creation 7th day we close and open the new now. 8th day, repeat.
The true celestial calender, above us, provides an Approximate 24 / 7 division for the establishment of "days". All anchored to the light phase of the moon. Which corrilates to the 7 day week and the 28-29 day Moonth. A clock and a calender, freely available to all of creation. Any day... Any time.
Solid stuff. This is a fun and well made overall video but I think the narrative is that the idea of seven doesn't have anything to do with nature and sacred geometry and then it was exaggerated and fetishized. Evidence for this is in the end of video where he uses the word mystical. Right before that he has to admit that the 7-Day cycle is something that actually exists in nature. This is a very powerful and profound understanding. The point is at 7 has a lot of patterns and rhythms in nature because there is more to this planet than we know. I believe people that Elon musk, Google will identify this in the next 50 years or less. This informative video is a blending of seven and how exists in our actual reality in nature, not a hyper dissected scientific version but in the version we actually experience on a day-to-day basis and the fetishization of it in cultures. A lot of scientists and scientific type of personalities like to do is they love to blend these two ideas of it as if fetishization and nature are like one in the same and that's just not true. Have to say there is one major flaw in that is that the author is factually wrong. He claims that there are not many patterns of seven in nature. Towards the end of the video he makes this claim. Again there are seven frequencies swells that are easily identifiable in music. You cannot chop them up into four you cannot chop them up into 14. These are minor blended frequencies and even if you chop them up they are not swells. This is really important because you can identify this with the computer and you can see the swells. For example when I sing a it comes into a type of Harmony and I know this because I've studied sound healing and I have analyzed the notes plus I've done music my whole life. The actual note of a is a specific thing. It is not a micro thing and it cannot be chopped up. It has a larger than life identity therefore it stands out in the pattern of seven not in any other pattern. This is the same with color it's the same with planet and like you said the planetary cycle of the week it represents frequency. Everywhere in nature seven harnesses frequency. It is not a debate it's a fact. So he gets this wrong. It is very easy to identify the difference the major difference in colors and in music. You can view them through the scope outside of seven but from a factual standpoint they're going to have swells and characteristics that make them stand out vibrantly at 7. I can equate it to is concept of the seven days of the week and the seven visible planets. We also have an afternoon and we also have an evening but they're still within the power of seven that is controlled by the planets and the Sun going up and down. We can dice them up and we can identify different parts of the day and just guess and I know people who do that and they're really good at it maybe they're looking at where the sun is.. but that doesn't mean we don't have 7 days. It's the same with music
The obvious answer never comes up in these interweb videos supposedly dishing up answers. Quote-unquote reality is based on four cardinal directions, including up and down, but what people tend to overlook is everything has a center.
There is considerable debate over how 13 came to be thought of as unlucky; and there are several traditions/beliefs that hold it to be a lucky number. The Wikipedia entry for '13' summarizes most of the theories and uses of the number. Sorry--7 can be pinned down; 13 remains mysterious!
Curious that you introduced Pythagoras and astronomy, but still don't understand how and why there are seven days in a week, twelve months in a year and twenty four hours in a day. It's more ancient and basic.
I explain quite clearly how Mesopotamian astronomy led to the seven day week...you must not have been paying attention through the whole video. 12 months and 24 hour days are off topic.
Great video, but there’s some inaccuracies concerning when the Hebrews believed, knew or regarded certain things. Lack of evidence is not evidence of lack. Also, there are other planets mentioned in Job.
Seven. So that out of ten, like the fingers of human hands, three remain, one for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy-Spirit. All Glory be to God.
You mean why can we only see 5 planets? I've heard that we can sometimes see the sixth, Uranus, in certain conditions. The others are too distant to see without an optical aid.
@@RobertMcCaffreyFilms , yeah, sorry that I haven't well established my question, nonetheless, you got it, why those 5 planets are visible under normal conditions while the others are only in certain conditions / with an optical aid?
