I just lost my 17 yr old ragdoll Skyboy . I'm devastated. He was so sweet and intelligent. Every night he layed his head beside me on my pillow and waited to be covered up like a little man . So adorable . They really do follow you around like a puppy . If you like cats that are aloof and dont require attention DO NOT get a ragdoll . Love to all my Ragdoll moms and dads out there ❤

Alessa Caracci I know what you mean about no privacy in your own bathroom, sometimes I have to race her to see who gets there first!! My girl likes to pick up things in her mouth and carries them off to unknown places, things like earrings, hair clips and even a can of her own food!

My gorgeous ragdoll is extremely vocal. He "talks" to us all of the time. He doesn't know how to use his indoor voice. He is so loud!! Quite operatic!!! He can hold a meow for a good 5 seconds. And he absolutely LOVES to be combed and scratched. He is a true gentle giant.

My Ragdoll Desmond was a rescue kitty at maybe 6 months old. I didn't know he was a Ragdoll, I just thought he was stunning with those big blue eyes . He has turned out to be the most lovable and playful cat ever! He has a Very easy disposition and loves to purr EVERY time I hold or pet him ! And is always near me. I feel truly blessed to have him in my life !

Just last week I lost my beautiful 20 pound big boy Jake after 18 years. He was a wonderful gentle giant and loved everyone. They are more dog like and love to fetch. Sure miss him, I wish I had another 20 years to spend with another sweet Ragdoll. Thank you for this video, it brings back wonderful memories for me.

Lizard - I just lost my 17 yr old male Ragdoll this week and found this video. He was also a gentle big boy. I'm so devastated. I cant sleep without him . We went thru a little bedtime ritual that's gonna take time to get past . I hope you find comfort in knowing there are others out there missing their special bond with their special cat . I am owner of a short hair Ragdoll - it is very easy to groom him and he does not get so hot like a long haired. No matter how old this cat get, the Ragdoll always still a baby - they "immature" compare to other breeds. If you like to have a baby - this is a right choice for you.

I have a seal bicolor named Levi. 8 years old and such a character and unusual really. He does not like being held, hates being brushed, my neighbours I'm sure think I'm torturing him lol. But he's so talkative with a meow for every occasion. Purring is so loud, love it. He's like a supervisor when your doing something outdoors, has to be watching. Such a creature of habit, dinner at a certain time. The list of his wonderful qualities is endless.

I have 2 ragdolls. They are the best!! One is very vocal, you will never have to guess as to what she wants. When shes sleepy, she wants me to hold her.. then she licks licks licks my face. I have to stop her bc my skin is coming off! 😂 Now with my other raggy.. he follows me Everywhere! When hes taking a " catnap " he even hears me if I slowly try to go outside. He jumps up & bamm! Right by my feet. It's so funny I dont know how he hears me. Hes so floppy too & has to sit on you. Then stares 😂 Talk about a sweetheart 💙 When he runs its always @ night & he sounds like a horse coming through the house🤣 They are so much like kids. Yes a lifelong true friendship with ragdolls 💜💙

My wife found our RAGDOLL at a local shelter. Someone had trimmed his hair very short. They told her he was part Siamese--- no mention of RAGDOLL. He had a partial cataract on one eye, so maybe the previous owner abandoned him. He has become a beloved member of the family, getting along well with our OTHER shelter cat, a Male that no one would adopt because he is BLACK. Thanks for the insight on the.RAGDOLL breed! OMG I just got a Seal Bi-color Lynx ragdoll female kitten and she’s is just the floppiest little kitten ever! The day I picked her up I had to drive 8 hours to north Florida to meet my breeder coming from Alabama and as soon as I got her in my car she flopped over and started purring like an engine! It was so friggin cute. Now that she’s gotten more comfortable with me she’s gotten even more floppy.. Especially when I pick her up she stretches and purrs and looks at me right in the eye with these adorably satisfied eyes before doing these cute little half suppressed meows. I’m so happy with my new floppy kitty! Heck right now as I’m typing she came n flopped down right on my foot. her way of letting me know she’s here for attention lol.

I had two brothers. Blake and Boris. Blake unfortunately passed away in 2012 at the age of twelve. Boris is still going strong at age 19. Health and happy. Lovely personality and very vocal. Doesn’t require much more care than other cats except grooming. He will demand everyone grooms him especially when you put your shoes on to go out!!

Our ragdoll is absolutely the curious type who wants to be part of the action all the time. However she does not really like being given attention when she is watching everyone else and often shoo's everyone that tries to pet her away. Sadly she is not a floppy type at all, you can tell when you pick her up that she gets a little heavier, but she is still pretty tense and does not really like being picked up in general.

I have a mutt kitty from the shelter, but I swear she has to have a fair amount of RD genes in her!! Love her to pieces, she has been a wonderful cat, and she is so fluffy, sweet, and laid back. She sleeps on her back all the time, and goes floppy when I pick her up as well.

My daughter is allergic to every hairy animal alive, she also has bad eczema, we have 4 cats, a rabbit ,a hairy mammoth horse, and until recently a long haired GSD, she told the doctors that no way was she giving up her animals and would try whatever she could, she also suffers hayfever ?? 🙄 we have managed a way threw it just, she still has days when things get bad for her , but it's what she wanted to do. I do understand how and why ppl feel they are better to rehome, it's a shame it had to happen but well things just sometimes don't work,so we do what we can . At least you got a little precious time with your fur baby and that you get to keep forever. Maybe a hairless cat? But my doctor always said it was the saliva that causes the allergy? I don't know about that we have one cat she reacts pretty badly too, the long hairs seems better for some reason? She gets an injection then just tops up with tablets when she needs along with nasal sprays and creams for her skin, but her eyes don't close, my niece her fiance can't come into our house, within 20 mins his eyes are puffing, his athsma flares, it's just not worth the torture. And I feel so guilty we have to meet in my mother's house. So I can sympathise with the struggles and sacrifices

My male 12-year old Himalayan Siamese used to play "hockey" with ping pong balls when he was younger. Now, he likes to hunt bugs and look out the window facing the front yard and street. I adore cats and am a huge animal lovers.☺☺☺☺☺

I have a giant, super sweet, rescue kitty, I just had a DNA test done, and she is Maine Coon and Ragdoll mix. She is a loving, 17 lb, floppy, lap cat that follows me everywhere & always wants to snuggle. She is also a skilled hunter. One time she snuck outside and killed a opossum. When she plays it is somewhat scary and she destroys & decimates her toys. She loves people and enjoys being carried around. We love her so much and can't understand how someone could ever abandon her.

I really enjoyed your video on you Ragdolls!!!!! We have two Ragdolls! They are in there senior years now 13.!!!! Still very playful!!!!! When we bought them we were told that Main Stain was the best diet for them...We soon found out that was the worst diet for them!!! The ing. was corn , corn! What stinky gas they had! We went to the local pet store and asked many questions and found out that a raw diet was the best! We have no more stinky gas!!!! We have a 7" climbing pole for them. When Missy was a kitten she stole on of my socks and carries it around like a baby and howls and Wink has a patch over one of her eyes and winks .

My 12-year old male Siamese Himalayan cat Snoopy sleeps on his back, has a very long puffy coat, follows me around like a puppy, and he goes limp when I pick him up. I can carry him around like a baby and he does not wiggle at all Snoopy is a very timid cat who runs and hide when my mother's caregivers show up. They also are amazing hunters outside. Leave them alone at sun down and they’ll claw at your windows. When you wake up, you’ll see they’re donation to the family. That’s how our boy helped us. Amazing. Miss him so much. He was such a pain, but he was 200x the comfort too. Tears.

Beautiful fur babies! One looks to be a mitted blue-point with a blaze. The other looks to be a bi-color seal point? I have a Ragamuffin Blue-Lynx and she is glooorious. Some think she's a Ragdoll, but she's not. Her fur is very long in places. She has a cream ruff and tummy, with grey/blue points and ghost ticking/striping (lynx). Her points graduate to a very dark gray, so she is very striking. And of course she has the startling light blue eyes, almost violet in color. Oooooh I love my fur baby!!! :)

I knew nothing about the breed when I got my ragdoll. I got him shortly after my kitty “Momma” passed away, which has been a little over a year ago. This clip describes him to a ‘T’. I miss mine so much!!!! Their personality is insane. Mine would do a back flip off chairs and play with my child. He didn’t like kids (he would just stay away from them) but he would lay at the end of my bed and watch the crib. Sometimes if my son was in bed with me he’d sleep in the crib. He was the baby. When I left home my parents said he none stop would meow. He’d wait at the door for me to come home. When I’d shower he would have to be in there. He would sit on the edge of something and wag his tail and look back to see if my son would try to get it then pull it up. 😂😞

My boy does that with his feet too (near beginning, where he's chewing on his foot fluff), I think its a good idea to cut that, it might be like walking around with something in your sock, as he grows an impressive length of hand floof. Yes and also VERY similar to the BALANESE. I know a young girl who has 2 Balanese and it's erie how much they look like a Ragdoll and act like them. ONLY thing they are alot of fur and not much cat unlike the Ragdoll which I find pretty sturdy.

Thank you for sharing this video. Your cats are beautiful! Especially the one with the little bit of a white blaze on its nose. I love everything about the Ragdoll breed. My only concern is their health. There are a few different Ragdoll cats I follow on RU-vid and one just recently died and the other had an infection that lasted a while. I do not understand how an indoor cat can have so many health problems. I have always had stray or rescue cats that only saw the vet once a year for an annual check up. My hesitation with this beautiful breed is their health, lifespan, and large vet bills.

Hello. I'm glad you brought this subject up. I've had Ragdolls for over 20 years. In an article on my blog, I talk about 2 Ragdolls I had and what their vet bills were over their entire life times. It was very low. They were neutered/spayed of course. The male had a blocked urinary thingie. It was corrected and never happened again. No health problems whatsoever. However, I fed my gang a homemade raw diet. I don't want to bore you with a super long explanation, but chances are those outdoor cats are getting a partial raw natural diet of some mice and critters. Honestly? Nothing could be better for them. Any indoor cat on a kibble diet is prone to so many things. Kibble causes multiple problems in cats, the most prominent being kidney issues. Kibble keeps the cat in a constant state of low level dehydration. They never ever catch up with being hydrated on a kibble diet. Raw diet gives them what they need along with the proper moisture. Even a cheapo canned food diet is better than the best quality kibble money can buy. This my opinion from decades and decades of owning purebred and rescue cats. :) So don't shy away from Ragdolls as you are worried about their health issues. That is not the case.

I adopted 3 RagDolls 3 months ago, now 9 months old. The shelter thinks they were abused, probably yelling, not much attention from people. In 3 months that have doubled in sized, still practicing social distancing, love going out on the back porch. I can now walk by them without they always running off. They have approx 1200 sq ft of the house, best food, toys, tower, only talk loving to them. Only one will meow, never heard any purr. Suggestions please on what to do for these (siblings) to come to me for petting, loving, etc.Thanks in advance!

I have two sister Ragdolls. They are the most amazing to have. Sheeba is the more laid back one and the boss. Shadow is more playful and more attention seeking.

Just adopted a pure bred rag doll , Moxie, from her Covid disabled mom. Waiting for the traits to surface. I have 3 other Persians. Moxie & my boy are the same age and have become best friends. Perhaps it is the older girls who are Velcro cats. Before she had house privileges and was quarantining, she would snuggle. Now, not at all. Even when I have her alone in the bedroom to make she she has individual attention. She seems happy, tail straight up, excellent appetite, responsive to petting.

my mom found one stray on the highway recently, its going to be my little baby lol. we arent 100% on her genetics, but she has the attitude of a ragdoll, always following you around, needing to be pet, sleeping wherever you sleep lol. but she's got a lot shorter fur, probably some kind of mix kitten, but full ragdoll personality. and the big blue eyes.

I have had Ragdolls for 25 yr., have been a breeder, now just a proud pet owner and each one had their own unique personality. I would recommend getting a second Rag....They love to play together...keeps them young...I have a 13yr old seal mitted male and a 13 week old. We lost my 17.5 yr. Sealpoint female Ragdoll , who my male was raised with in Jan.. and both myself and my 13 yr. boy Ragdoll grieved for a long time. The only one who didn’t care was my 11 yr. old Sheltie. My remaining Ragdoll was depressed, listless, not eating...when I got another male kitten bicolour Rag, he perked right up and plays like a kitten again, they are BFFs

I cat-sit my sister's ragdoll whenever she goes on holiday. Otherwise I really love it, but I get tired of hoovering every day and still finding hairs in my food and on all my clothes 😑

I bought a Ragdoll for my Daughter around her 13th birthday and She was so beautiful. Missy was a flopper and very chill. She was like my Daughter's shadow. Unfortunately Missy got Pancreatitis which She did recover from but then her liver was not working as well as it should have been. Missy lived for about 13 years until my Daughter was told that She would need to be put to sleep. :(. My daughter was absolutely heart broken and still keeps Missy's ashes close by. She was a magnificent cat. I would so love to have a family of Ragdolls'. I can't right now but will one day not too far away.

My rag doll cat, Toby, is extremely addicting (in the right way). He has the classic rag doll trait that if you hold him he goes limp a lot of the time. We were going to name him pepe, but my mom accidentally called him Toby once, and after that the name just stuck. He tends to meow at closed doors and if he knows there is someone at the other end, he will reach his paws under the doors. He’s about to turn 2 years old, and since he’s young he has a bit of a weird attitude. He is potty trained but he tends to be a bit evil with my mother and will pee around some of the stuff she uses daily, especially her sink. He’s friends with my two dogs, and will mess with them when he cares, or cuddle up with them when he thinks no one is watching. He plays HARD and is a bit evil when it comes to bugs he see’s. He has a laid back personality that makes him great to be around and has beautiful blue eyes. He is a pure rag doll, but he did have two sisters of a different breed, so that’s interesting. He loved getting into bags but hates cat nip.

I love ragdolls, I got a kitten and sadly he died at 10 months old of a heart attack, I got another one from a breeder and he died at 10 months, then another one, he died at age 1 of a cat illness that I cant remember the name of. It was so devastating, all within 18 months. These were all from reparable breeders. I wonder if this is common. I do have one now, she is wonderful. she is now 7. Their faces are just so expressive.
