It's such a low priority, but I'd really love to see a musical instrument for Link implemented in BoTW2. Maybe he could play the Sun's Song to clear up the rain, or the Song of Storms to summon lightning to strike down an enemy. Maybe you could play Saria's song to help you locate nearby Korok seeds, or play Epona's song to summon your horse to your location.

The cookbook could be turned into a lore thing because of course local-cryptid-Link could never be bothered to write down anything and just threw whatever was at hand into the pot. But Zelda insists they Write Everything Down For Science and that’s why he has a cookbook in the second game and not the first.

I love that idea! A cookbook given you a shortcut to holding the required items is honestly the item I wanted more than even one that lets you swim under water. But you’re right, Link doesn’t seem to be the type to make notes, unlike Zelda.

Theoretically, you could just add a recipe list into the shiekah stone. I mean, its basically a tablet, so why bother with a real book? Just use the technology, you already have. And along with that thought, technically you can at least take a photo of the recipe posters, you can find all around, so... Yeah, photograph your own cookbook, I guess...

I would like there to be a different category for secondary weapons, like boomerangs, rods, leaves, and torches. You could keep them equipped, but not as your main weapon.

Ahhhh some soulsborn touch i like it, but or you can finally duel wield, not like stats, but it could be like for a blade you could get made like the big goronsword, is to big so you have to one hand it, also hell why not a smithing mechanic so you can cook, and make blades.

I'm suprised nobody has said this, but the hookshot would work perfectly as a function of the magnesis rune. Link is already able to hook on to metal objects and put them towards him, but I think it would be super neat if we were able to upgrade the magnesis rune so that you can anchor heavy metal objects in place and pull yourself towards them. Imagine grabbing a metal crate and placing it at the top of a cliff, anchoring it, and then pulling yourself up to it. That would be sick! And it wouldn't invalidate the climbing because it would be limited by its situaltional nature. Instead of only being used for trees, vines, and targets, the magnesis shot would be limited to metal surfaces and objects.

That would be really cool! Maybe make it a button-prompt to combo stasis and magnesis while you hold a metal object. First the chains come flashing in, then Link flings himself up. Maybe a few meters above the object so you can also combo into gliding. And while we're already using magnesis to hook to objects, make it a Metroid Prime Grapple Beam to swing around.

That'd be awesome! It could also solve the issue of the rain, so that link has a way to get up rainy surfaces. If they make the hook shot late enough in the game or very hard to get, then we fix multiple problems

Immortals fenyx rising, like botw but made by ubisoft, had every underwater area explorable so it's totally possible in the sequel

Yes, but also with much better swimming mechanics too. That’s the ONLY thing I hated about swimming in BOTW was the stiffness of the swimming

Maybe instead of a hookshot, a "magshot", that only can grab onto magnetic items. So out in the wild, it could only be used where there is metal structures, which would be easy enough to limit to control the mechanic. It would also be a very cool way to disarm enemies!

I didn't sit out the rain. All I did was count Link's steps then jump up, 1 2 3 4 jump. He usually slides on the 5th.

I either went another way or used it as a chance to go to the toilet or grab a drink. I’ve never been able to relate to other people’s hatred the rain and feel the game would be worse without it, even if it can be a cause of frustration.

@@joshm9363 I feel like the rain is a really cool feature in the Lanayru/Akkala region, but it's just not necessary anywhere else. Sometimes there is no alternate route and I shouldn't have to wait several minutes just to get past. Luckily, campfires are good at clearing rain but there's no guarantee you can find a shelter

The hook shot could work on only some objects, such as trees and certain surfaces, needing you to climb and find objects or places where you can reach, cutting down trees to use them later as an anchor for the hook shot

I think that the cookbook is a good idea, but I think just a journal with different sections would be much better. Like to log fighting ideas, recipes, to plan out quests, etc.

This is actually a very reasonable list. So many wish lists I see have things that would massively compromise the experience, but most - if not all - of these definitely work well to compliment it

Mostly Agreed. Though most of it feels like end / Post game Material, especially the hookshot. The one thing I see different is the Zora Scale thing. Botws experience works (among other things) because you can do everything in the game more or less from the start... if you are a little Smart about it. Locking the ability to dive behind the Scale would mean that a Portion of the game would only be available as soon as the Player gets the Scale. This would Kind of mess with the accessability of it. Of course, they could well be implementing the skill via another rune (or whatever great shenanigans they are up to this time) but I don't think an Item would be they way to go for this skill.

Given how open/real the rest of the world is, holding an item in order to swim would make less sense than perhaps one that made you more competent so it's more about accessing things/areas quickly/conveniently rather than putting a wall on where you can/can't go. That and the hook shot fell on the out of the 'most' I was referring to. That said, my speculation is that BotW2 will have a progressing plot more akin to Link Between Worlds where you're open to do things in any order but completing a number of things will trigger changes to the world/story; this would allow some abilities or items to make their way of entering to expand the experience.

They could make the hookshot an item that requires collectables from all over Hyrule, maybe even in dungeons. This way, you HAVE to go everywhere before getting it so it doesn't cheat the game. Sort of like the Golden Korok poopoo but not as many koroks and with an actual, fantastic, use for your "post game".

@@aaronking2020 the lens of truth lets you see things that are hidden or obscured. Like invisible enemies, hidden chests, holes in the wall. The entire Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time was based around it and it was SO cool.

My wishlist: - Loftwings/air mounts - King Of Red Lions style sailboat/ water mounts - keep horses/mc0 - Diving/swimming underwater, underwater environments - at least 1 or 2 basic swords that don't break - blacksmith/way to repair/enhance weapons - more/new music of any kind - more romance

These are all great ideas! As much as I love BoTW, I think a lot of these could have made the experience even richer. I was especially disappointed that we couldn't swim underwater in the game. So much potential there. I hope they take advantage of it in the sequel.

I'd never considered a cookbook but thinking on it if Zelda travels with Link in the sequel and learns that certain foods can effect health and stamina , not only is she writing that recipe down ,but having Link remake the same dish 20 times over so she can properly catalogue and document which ingredients are most potent.

@@poke_dragon24 little broken, how bout that they only get disarmed when they attack with a really strong attack or you need a strong shield to do it.

@@ronwapossibly what shield was that? I think I've watched all of croton's stat videos. Pretty sure the hylean shield can disarm almost everything, but no matter what shield you use you can't reflect arrows, talus' rocks, and I think lizal water/lava streams.

I feel like a Hookshot Rune for the Shekaih Slate could work well as a reward for collecting every Korok Seed, or something. You've already accomplished a huge task and explored the world to near completion, so having a quicker way to travel could be a nice reward, especially if it's super broken.

I think it'd be cool if we could find different hooks for the hookshot throughout the world, that could attach to different materials throughout the world. Like one especially made for grabbing onto and zipping over to monsters, with another being similar to the traditional ones clinging onto wood.

That would be an effective way to restrain the hookshot's power, since if you make the stone grapple one of the later unlocks, you'll be forced to get creative in order to use it, like looking for a tree in close enough proximity. Plus if you could use it in bullet time, oh man...

An amazing video with some fantastic item ideas that totally fit within the world of BOTW! Great job again, man 😄 I always wondered if hookshot would be a tiny bit more fair if it functioned like a sheikah rune with a cooldown after each shot. Nothing too long, but still something to keep it from completely breaking everything. But then that would nerf the possible endgame hookshot idea (unless you get both). Who knows :'D

i think it should be something that is limited in use. like, you only have 5-10 uses before you have to remake it or buy a new one. this way, players will only use it when absolutely necessary, like when its raining or when you're in dire need of an escape. this way, the use of climbing and hook-shooting your way everywhere is balanced.

I actually like the absence of some of these items. A cookbook would encourage farming only the items for the best recipes and ignoring everything else. Although I guess there is already enough variety. Also fine with the rain, it makes you find a new path unless you are late game enough to have Gale or enough stamina.

All of the music fits the items so well- The sky for gliders, Song of storms for the rain, Queen Rutela chase sequence for the Zora scale and so on. It’s very well thought out.

Am I the only one who misses the Dominion Rod? I thought it was such a cool item in Twilight Princess, but unfortunately it was barely usable outside of the Temple of Time. However, the ability to puppet master those large statues with huge weapons was really cool to me.

I would like to see more bosses and their own unique boss music. The amount of minibosses is great but there should be more bosses than the ganons. Also, even though master Kohga "died" he could have survived that fall. I mean he can teleport plus his voice actor makes us love him more!

I think it should be the grappling hook from wind waker- could be used as a rain climbing tool, and maybe to swing over gaps if there’s something to attach it to, but it wouldn’t be insanely broken like the hook shot. Link would still need his stamina to use it. Also it could be used like it was in WW for combat, except instead of stealing items from monsters it could snatch their weapons. I think it would fit a lot better personally

It's already possible to check the recipe of meals in your inventory as long you haven't eaten them yet. You can even look at the recipes of meals that you've been given & never cooked yourself.

@@bern9642 There was an outfit that helped you with climbing. The boots were supposed to stop you from slipping in the rain. I don't think they did though. Edit: It was just poorly explained. Mentions no slip toes, but only speeds up climbing

j would like to see, whenever you cook, the game holds up a menu of sorts of what you have already made and tells you the amount of materials you have for each and if you can make it or not. also you can choose quickly to make these meals rather than waiting for it to finish.

At the very least, I hope if it's still around, it can either be altered a lot depending on what you do, what weapon you're using, or what enemy you're fighting.

It was your videos Zeltik that got me back into the Zelda series. 😄 I had only ever played OoT but one day, your video on the Forest Temple found its way onto my suggested list. I watched it, followed by the video on Volvagia and the Fire Temple, and I was hooked! I bought a Switch and BotW and started playing, all because of this amazing channel. 😄 Thank you!!

Loved the video, all of your recommendations are pretty solid and I would love to see them, in my opinion the one that has more chance to appear is the cook book and if it comes with the things you said it would be awesome, the rain and the longshot are the ones that have the least chance to appear, everyone hates rain but its immersive to find a cave or roof to make a campfire, the longshot would be OP, but as a post game reward I think it would be cool, one thing that I think could be added is a craft system, the game seems to have something like that on mind with how you manage items, maybe get something when your weapon break (I saw that on another video, don't remember the channel, he said something about ancient shards), a guy on the comments called Clifford Morrison said about a music instrument and I would love it too, the instrument I would suggest is a Accordion (Kass instrument)

I think it’d be amazing if the player could sneak into the yiga clan disguised as a yiga. That’d make it much more interesting to me. You could include different reactions to the disguise. For example travelers or Shiekah. They could be shocked or respond with an attack or something.

I think that depends on your interpretation. She was freed from the dream as a seagull, which was actually her specific wish. Although our girl Marin is unlikely to reappear in any future games anyway... 😭

Why is there no legend of a singing seagull in any of the other games to prove the "real" ending is not just the one where she dies with the rest of the dreams. And isn't the concept that Marin got her wish to be a seagull imply the dreams were (in some abstract context) alive? So are you saying the people on the island were alive or all dreams live like this? Making the ending less "waking up from a nap" and more "racism fueled geocide".

I think, especially in caves, it would be extremely useful to have a hookshot and to be able to investigate under water. The grip ring would be helpful, too. One item I'd like to see return would be the boomerang.

Subrosian Cloaks - This is a weird sort of suggestion, and there are plenty of ways to implement it that aren't capes, but I came up with the idea using capes, so this is how I'm presenting it. Basically, there would be a secret Subrosian shop in Death Mountain (underground & hard to find, but close enough to a warp point to return later). The shop would sell cloaks at high prices. To be able to buy a cloak here, you need to already have a cloak, but there's a Subrosian who'll sell you a basic Subrosian Cloak that does nothing. The store gets new stock as a coincidence based on Link's successes. Each major thing you accomplish unlocks a possible new cloak for purchase. There would be one cloak each for a triple stat bonus of each kind of food bonus in the game (like one for a max strength bonus, for example, and another for a max haste bonus), and others for bonuses you can't otherwise get, like one that gets rid of slipping while climbing in the rain. The feats to get each of these would be things like... Getting all of Kilton's Medals of Honor, one for maxing out your hearts to 30, one for maxing out your stamina to 3 full wheels, one for getting a gold rupee from each minigame in Hyrule, etc... But they don't tell you what triggers them. (Whichever one is the most powerful would be unlocked by buying one of each other possible cloak.) Each thing you could do to get the opportunity to buy one would be some form of an endgame goal, and each one would be really expensive to buy. (Also, add an extra page to the maximum number of pages of outfits you could wear to compensate for the added fourth outfit slot.)

Ideas for hookshot alternatives: A) Hookshot style rune, grabs onto wood or ledges, but can be upgraded for longer range B) Rope arrows, For the cost of one arrow you can shoot a rope to carefully walk across or grab items, on multishot bows it only fires one rope, but the rope arrows can be picked up like normal arrows

i've always wanted them to expand on the concepts that featured the Zora in the Oracle games (I think primarily Oracle of Ages) Where they have a whole village of Zora living underneath the water, like imagine being able to swim along underwater settlements and go into underwater structures. It'd be so cool to have that level of explorability in a game like BOTW

Pure genius ideas, the Cook book is really a great one, I'd love more than anything a Storage on your home or a vault? Maybe? where you can put everything you want to preserve and not worrying too much to utilize the items you have on the go, I'm really ok with the armor system except in the Master Sword and I even like the raining as it adds difficulty when climbing
