Great attitude! Makes me smile to watch you. So enjoy your videos. I will look for a hand bag with a pop of color. Nice idea. I appreciate all your tips.
You look so beautiful today. Your hair is perfect! Thanks for the tips! I always need to be reminded of essential pieces when I start working on my wardrobe for the upcoming season. I tend to get all caught up in all those pieces that are so pretty and new!
Discovered your channel today, you are very sweet, love the outfits , always loved fashion and clothes , but during lock down and during the past few months I have not bothered much... need to live, get dressed up and get on with life .. thanks for the inspiration xxxx
This is my first time finding your videos, and you are so beautiful, well spoken and your explanations of the outfits are helpful and encouraging! It's nice to finally find realistic clothing tutorials that are more conservative and age appropriate! Thank you and God bless you!
Good morning Kay! Excellent video! You look amazing in that green dress!! What a gorgeous color and your gold necklace and earrings are perfect with it! Lovely!! Take good care!!
Live in southern hemisphere, so we are in autumn heading slowly towards winter. Still love watching clothing videos and see what trends hit our shores from the other part of the world. Some do many don't still great ideas. Thanks Kay
I love that green color on you! These are excellent tips, and I do agree that adding a belt adds so much to an outfit. For warmer weather, I usually wear dresses-one and done! Makes getting ready easy when I don’t have to think about anything extra except accessories. Thanks for wonderful video!🙋♀️💝
Your hair looks fabulous! I've learned so much from following your blog and watching the videos the last year. Elevating my look, being more thoughtful when I make clothes and make-up purchases (would they go with my neutrals, are they in my signature color, buying less clothes and making sure it's better quality, is this piece something I will reach for to wear or is it a no, getting to know my body and dressing it with flair,, etc.) Thank you!!
Wow, just beautiful. U look great in green, and it is the right shade for u. Thank u, for all the tips, and I love all the looks. Thanks again. 🙏☘️✝️👍💚🥰👏🌟
You are luminous in that outfit and hairstyles. Thanks for the tips. I’m one who gets distracted by all the prints and want them all!! But I do have my basics too. On the hunt for long sleeve navy stripe cotton top.
It’s still chilly where I live, but I’ve been enjoying spring colors, at least. Combinations of white with taupe/beige, blue, green or pink are my favorites. Thanks for the great styling ideas.
Please mention with your styles where they can be worn. For example, the first set of outfits could be worn to luncheon or shopping. This outfit can be dressed up for lunch by the addition of ---- whatever. This is great for dinner with friends. This is perfect for a romantic dinner with husband or other, etc. I am often unsure if my choices go well with where I want to go. Thank you, Kay!
I am taking your advice and giving belts a second try, and they do make a world of difference, I'm also experimenting with wide and narrow belts, makes such a difference depending on what I wear them with. thanks for encouraging me to try them again
I recently bought those Edison flats from Talbots and they are so cute! I love the nod to the Chanel cap toe shoes and the gold hardware gives them an extra flair. They’re very comfortable too.
Great tips! I love to dig out my floral skirts and shirts in spring. I feel renewed like the season of spring is. It feels like a fresh start. Bold Colors and pastels are wonderful. I feel like one of God’s flowers 💐. When I’m wearing them. I love spring it represents renewal, regrown and resurrection. Thank you Kay.
You certainly look lovely today! Your hairstyle, the v-neck green dress, make-up & jewelry are all very complimentary! Thanks for reminding us of the essentials needed to transition our wardrobes from winter to spring!
I loved this video. My favorites, the green dress with round neck, , the nude shoes , the blazers!!and the printed hand bag. Please tell us whre you got these. Thank you
Love to be reminded of all the things you tell us. This time of year in Colorado, it's essential to have some layering pieces in Spring and Fall. I always find myself looking for a nice looking white tee or tank that is not so thin. I'm also plus sized so it seems even harder to find some of these basics. Do you have a go to brand for tees and tanks that are a little thicker?
Good Morning Kay! Another inspiring video! I love the outfits you put together today. I am so ready for spring and I look forward to utilizing the tips you mentioned today. I always look forward to my morning coffee on Wednesday while watching your video! And I love your hair too!!!
Hello Kay Thank you for those tips! I love your channel. Im french and spring is coming. But its cold! Your hair is beautiful and I love your green dress! God bless you! Marie from France 💖
Love the Kelly green dress. I all ready ordered a similar one from Ann Taylor and it is on the way to me. Have a great time at Abigail's bridal shower. What memories you are making with her and your mother.
Kay, your hair is coming in so nicely. You can really see it in the inserted pics you add to the video. As you can see from my profile pic I like using a linen shirt as a completer piece in spring and summer. It's cool and always looks stylish. I loved your blue cardigan in this video, so cute. Not a fan of the boxy blazers in this video but that's just my opinion.
I love the belt tip. I always wear one if my trousers, or skirt, has belt loops and with dresses that don’t have a defined waist. I love the polish and finish they add. I don’t have a lot of waist definition, so I often match my belt to what I’m wearing, so that it doesn’t emphasize that as much as a contrasting color would (although I sometimes wear them like that, too). I have a rounded tummy and some “extra” here and there, but I don’t let that limit me. Tuck in those tops, gals, it doesn’t matter how much you have around the middle, thighs or butt, it will visually improve your proportions and lengthen your legs instantly. A long top hanging down gives that unflattering “cut in half” look and looks sloppy, but it doesn’t hide anything.
Hi Kay. I love and appreciate your advice, it's stylish yet sensible and not over the top. I would like to be the voice of diversity and make a comment: we don't all have husbands, we may have a boyfriend or we may just be single. Also, we don't all go to church - some of us go are Jewish, others Muslim, etc and some are even atheists. Thank you.
Please suggest a style of light car coat for women like me with larger arms. I am 5 ft 2” size 14 Thank you love your videos they are quite helpful especially now that I am struggling with fashion style for myself at 60.
Green is your color! I can't think of anything I do not have as far as all these tips. Maybe shoes. Of course, we girls cannot have enough shoes or handbags. All I need to do is just go through my things and put them together. I'm going on a cruise in May and I am thinking about things I need or want to have. I said to myself that I was not going to buy one more piece of clothing. I got into some of my things on Sunday and put together a few things and I really don't need anything. Maybe a couple of dressy dresses for dinner.
Great video! Dumb questions here-- Do you wear your shoes without any socks, hose, etc? When you wear a dress do you ever wear hose? I have been wearing pants for so long now, but I think I would feel strange in a dress or skirt without hose-- but I don't think anyone wears them anymore. I am a redhead and so skin is pretty fair. Your videos are helpful, but I am still overwhelmed when it comes to clothes shopping. Where are some good places to buy dresses and skirts-- clothes for church? Thank you!!!
I do wear hose occasionally, especially between seasons like we are right now. Just choose hose that are very sheer and in a color close to your skin color.
If you live in the US, we generally don't have a culture that has color rules for different times of life. There are color preferences by region, but not color by age much. Yellow is fine as long as it looks good with your complexion. I can only wear very pale yellow, since any darker and my skin reflects the color too much. I end up looking like a canary-face. 😁
My new pieces are new denim shorts and some new shirts. I didn’t buy t shirts. I bought some new styles. I haven’t worn them yet. But I will. As soon as I buy some clothes for the weather. It gets cold again. I want summer now cold, or at least spring. Not constant rain either. I know we need rain. But it’s not my favorite. I’m all for the sun and it can’t get too hot for me. That’s why I only bought shorts and shirts. If I go out anywhere I have some linen pants and I can wear one of my new shirts.
I used to be a tunic and leggings girl, but since watching you for some time now, I want to get back to that classic “Talbots “ style. I have found a pair of loafers and started wearing bold colored socks. I want to start wearing belts again. I had gained a lot of weight, but am starting to lose some of it. I’ve been looking at the belts and can’t believe how expensive they are. Can you give some recommendations for colors and widths for belts you choose?
You are so right. I’m always shocked at the sticker price. Ha! But I guess they are leather, so there’s that. I generally like a belt with a little substance so about 1.5”. But that works for my 5’8” frame. It you are shorter you may prefer a thinner belt. I’m actually on the hunt for a pretty skinny belt to wear with dresses right now. You can find cheaper belts at Target and Walmart, but if you’re really going to wear it I suggest biting the bullet and getting a good one. Mine from the bargain stores have all started separating and looking bad eventually. Also look for reversible belts so you can get double the bang for your buck. I generally like the belts at Talbots and they are 25% off right now. rstyle.me/+kTbi4LqdZZ-bmTZAbcpH0w
Thrift stores! I’ve started building a small collection at very reasonable prices. I add them to my jeans and a thrifted button down shirt with a front tuck. I’ve even started front tucking some tunics, for much better proportions. At 75, it makes me feel with-it!
Love the green top you're wearing. This green and the red you wore in another video are your best colours. I know you have pale blue eyes, but blue isn't your best colour, not even close
Absolutely! The gist of the video was learning tips for putting together outfits with the separates in YOUR closet. These are the separates in mine, but you do you. 😉
Please keep in mind that some of us are too short to wear the new high water pants look. Not one of these looks was something I and many others could wear.
😉 Many stylists respectfully disagree on ✂️cropped pants. Trinny of London believes all heights can wear 'em. In fact, she thinks a cropped pant can reinvent a pair of old trousers. This cut can bring a sense of renewed freshness + vitality for us older ladies too. 🤗No matter your height, when you have a longer torso & low waist, your legs seem short. Showing your ankle off in floodwater pants gives the illusion your legs are longer. The fact they literally pop out of your pants psychologically reinforces that idea. The key is making sure the hem of a pant (or skirt) always ends at a slimmest point of your leg. 1-2" above ankles usually suits most women. Experiment: Bring a nude pair of shoes to a fitting room. Try on a full length pair & cropped pair of pants in the same color. Do a French tuck w/your top. Snap a 📸photo in the full length mirror. Compare the photos side x side. 🤔 Think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results. 💚 Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
I think animal prints are classic now, it’s just that our wardrobes are all well-supplied with them now, so we’re not buying as many as in previous years.
