One thing I can appreciate about him is he seems to be a man with excellent skills...buy NO EGO. Doesn't come across with the "I'm the baddest" attitude and as a martial artist, I appreciate that very much. Always smiling...it's a breath of fresh air.

This is legitimately the only video I've ever seen that shows practical application for tan sao. Awesome stuff as always and you've given me some great ideas of how to further evolve my skills. Keep up the good work!

Great music and a glass of wine; perfect for Bong and Taan Sao practice. All we need now is a video on perfecting that evil smile that strikes fear in any adversary.

Dunno about Taan Sao, but that Wing Chun master from London is also a splendid performance artist & comedian to me. Fun watching & learning.

GREAT IDEA to include the slow motion Sifu Phillips! Perfect to see the hand unity and combinations you use once you have contact and or control. Really, really like that! Soundtrack is dope too lol 🙏🏽

I frequently use something like number five while sparring my friends but recently they've started to instinctively catch on a little bit lol. These variations will help me mix it up a bit, maybe even inspire more variations. Thanks for the upload, have a good day man.

Hi Sifu.. I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina.. I train Traditional Wing Chun here with Sifu Drazen Pantelic, and he is William Cheungs student, and my Sifu and you have almost the same approach to this martial art, I would call it the Realistic Wing Chun, and just to let you know that we appreciate your work here and hope some day we will meet .. Best regards ..

Hi Sifu Mark. Thanks again for great tips. Could you please also produce a video of an effective use of Jum Sao and/or Gaan Sao?
@fightscience
@fightscience 7 лет назад
+Kashif Amin you read my mind. I plan a follow up video on Gaan Sao as there are even more variations that will make a really interesting Wing Chun video. Thanks again for watching my friend.

Nice vid, some interesting variations. How about how chi sau relates to real combat, also the dummy and interpretations of the elements of the forms? (for future vids)
@fightscience
@fightscience 7 лет назад
+dbwrc good idea. Actually I did plan a video on how the wooden dummy really helps you to fight. After all it doesn't move and there's a lot of misconceptions about training Wing Chun for fighting on the tool. As for elements of the forms? I can do, but there are so many different interpretations of the Wing Chun forms that it will open a Pandora Box, which frankly I can't be bothered to argue about. Thanks for watching. Have a great day my friend.

I was thinking about 'un-provoked attacks' - I think it all depends on what signals you are sending out.. ..might be a good idea to wear fake glasses (depending on what you know) otherwise you may just spook some people out and they'll maybe take their fear out on you in an aggressive way. Forgiveness is an acceptanc of our fate: I think it is up to those of us who are wise to be more wise and become calm... happy holidays.

Nice video! Doesn't #2 compromise your structure? Wouldn't a Jut Sao be a better option, like in the second part of first form?
@fightscience
@fightscience 7 лет назад
+Jack Marcham not likely to compromise structure as you keep the integrity of the Taan Sao shape with the withdrawal. This is standard practice against pressure. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the response! I will go test it (and all the others) with my sifu! :)

what if he had a brace knuckle because I had fight my bully classmate he had a brace knuckle in his hand but I defeated him but I have a wound in my Ear and head
@fightscience
@fightscience 7 лет назад
+Glennmer Estrada I'm not surprised you have a wound. Knuckle dusters are dangerous. It's essentially a weapon. So you should react the same way as you would any weapon. Avoid it. Thanks for watching.
