I really like the look of the gold foil on the textured leather! I gotta try that sometime!

Buenos consejos todos. Sin dudarlo, el mejor es el de utilizar buenos elementos de seguridad para las manos en este caso pero igualmente es importante para los ojos, oídos y pulmones según sea la necesidad. Gracias

Great tips! I agree the most over looked would be to have good hand protection. That said I think the tip I will be implementing first will be the leather pads on clamps. Thanks!

Thanks Paul! It's amazing how much easier leathercraft can be with all fingers still attached! ;D

Very helpful tips. I may have misunderstood, but are you saying that with the marker one could do the entire edge painting process? Or is this more for applying an undercoat?

Hello Alex. No, the dye pen is for leather dye only, not edge paint unfortunately. With paints the pigment particles would likely clog up the felt tip.

Great video Philip. Thanks! Have you done a video on how to get glue out from between the edges of 2 veg tan pieces before burnishing? I know there is a trim allowance technique where you make a clean cut but what if that isn't possible to do? I can't seem to get that glue out completely even using a rub rub bar and sanding. Thanks!

It's more of a glue choice Tim. Even if your edge is clean cut, the edge will compress and lower as you burnish, which will in turn expose more rubber based contact adhesive (which I assume you're using). This is why PVA glue and the use of clamps is popular with the burnishing crowd.

@@LeathercraftMasterclass Thanks Philip. I am currently using Renia Aquilim 315. I'll have to clamp the edges after gluing to see if that helps.

Love the videos as always! Unrelated, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting that perfect, spotless, glossy edge with my edge paint. After the Fenice edge paint drys, it never seems to be pristine, and there's always a few microscopic divots that I can see if I look closely. I'm using a Regad on setting 6 with the spatula tip going: sand, paint first coat, apply heat to set the paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, then wax. Any ideas / steps ? Thanks so much, appreciate everything!

Difficult do guide you here without showing you, but I do have a video course on my site 'Techniques Of The Edge. Part 2' which covers various methods on how to achieve a perfect finish using edge paint.
