Benetton had another weird launch in 1996. It started with Jean Alesi driving through Sicily in an unbranded B195 and the actual launch of the B196 took place in an old Roman Theatre
"I have no idea what is going on here" can sum up alot of these launches pretty well. Also, it just occurred to me Jenson Button was involved in 3 of these. Wonder which one he feels was the weirdest one for him.
So what I’m hearing is if Button is the driver for a team, the launch will be weird Edit: Disappointed in Matt and WTF1 for promoting the use of nicotine with this new competition they’re promoting. After everything Matt’s said about F1 selling out and taking the money by going to Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia I didn’t expect him to promote a competition you can only enter if you’re a nicotine user Edit 2: Thanks for removing your like WTF1, I don’t smoke so probably wasn’t allowed to have it in the first place
What has musk to do with F1, also then they'd have to mention that it was all done out of petty spite as that roadster was the model that should have gone to one of the original people who actually started Tesla, Musk being the juvinike child he is, when he took over the company he shot one of the cars that contractually obligated to go to one of the actual founder is into space and then had to give him a different car.
They teased the car in the beginning they teased like they were going to show the car. 50-60k people were watching, excited to see a new branded team and livery. Instead, DJ drops the beat, 20-30 min Fashion show ensues. Endless "F" in the chat as live viewing dropped within a couple min to like 12k
According to an interview from Mike Earle, when the Onyx ORE-1 was launched with the infamous Moneytron sponsor, someone in the media said it was the most "tasteless thing he has ever seen" 😂
Last year's Ferrari SF1000 launch - In an Opera theatre, with music freshly written for the occasion, an incredible display of marketing and media attention. What makes it weird is that the car itself eventually revealed itself to be a disaster where it actually had importance - On track. Wasting all of that time and money for the launch makes it laughable when compared to how uncompetitive the car actually was.
What has that to do with F1, also then they'd have to mention that it was all done out of petty spite as that roadster was the model that should have gone to one of the original people who actually started Tesla, Musk being the juvinike child he is, when he took over the company he shot one of the cars that contractually obligated to go to one of the actual founder is into space and then had to give him a different car.
3:09 F1 fans: wow thats so weird I have never seen 2 different liveries for the same team! Nascar fans: wait...you mean...you don't do that every race?
Unpopular Opinion: I Like the new McLaren No really, I Love it The Rainbow stripes could be a bit bigger but I loved the 2020 one and I love this one Definitely a 9,5/10
I am still at a loss as to why Pierre looked like he walked straight out of a Murder mystery while Tsunoda looked like he just came from a Christmas comedy.
How about the R24 ? (Well it was the R23b but with the new livery (telefonica presentation as sponsor) , one of de drivers binned the car in the streets, and the story goes that the car got “dissasmbled” by the crowd for “souvenirs” ...
Reasons why McLaren 2021 car reveal was another weird one:- -Car looked 95% the same -Reveal looked more like an interview with the team -there was literally no car during the show
1:39 pretty sure this is a gumboot dance. Unless there is a style of dancing that is very similar, in which case I am incorrect. However if this is in fact a gumboot dance, which I'm pretty sure it is, then it has a seriously tragic and interesting history. It is a style of dancing that was created in my home of South Africa. It came about due to the oppression of black people during Apartheid. They were forced to work in the dark soulless mines, on top of that they were not allowed to talk to each other. So as a way of resistance and communication. They started hitting their rubber boots (gumboots) and stomping as a form of communication. This eventually evoloved into the dance showcased in the video. In South Africa it is preformed as a form of unity. It looks a lot more powerful and loud when preformed here. If you are interested you should look it up. If you read this all, thanks for reading and I hope you learned something. If you have any questions feel free to ask
1:40 oh boi, time for a history lesson. That's gumboot dancing. It started in the gold mines in South Africa, where the slave miners were not allowed to communicate with each other. They devised a very clever scheme of stomping and slapping on their gumboots as code, which the overseers didn't understand and didn't even realise was a form of communication. Over time they became so adept at this language that it that it practically turned into a very characteristic dance. It's no longer used as a language, but as a dance it's one of South Africa's big cultural heirtages, and you're putting your ignorance on show when all you have to say about it is _"I have no clue what's going on here."_
Has no one yet named the 'fishtank' launch of the Renault or that time when Alonso raced the car through the streets of a Spanish city (can't remember which one it was)?
The story about the 1999 BAR livery isn't true tbh. People were already aware of BAR's plans to race with 2 different liverys in 1998. its even mentioned on a pre race show on dutch television in 1998
Guys. I think it would be better if you showed more footage of the car launch instead of memes and other stock footage. The last one with Toyota and the Bennetton in Venice didn't have any pictures of the actual F1 launch.
