Focusing on just two or three platforms is definitely something I feel will be important to me in the long-run, and I'm *so* glad you included that in your tips. I used to have accounts on pretty much every form of social media, but lately I've been nuking the ones I *know* I'm never gonna use or am turned off of, for one reason or another. Purging the accounts I don't need/never use/don't like is definitely helping to narrow my focus, in terms of what content I'd like to create and it also makes me feel better just to have that weight off my chest.

Today I worked on creating a personal brand by streamlining my profile picture and banner art across my social media. As someone who is preparing to start a RU-vid channel, your videos are super helpful! I've been following you for years because I find your content fascinating, and I think I'm finally ready to do something with all this info now. :) One question I have...you talk a lot about the importance of consistency and niche for growth, but you've also said not to worry about growth too much for the first 100 or so videos of the channel, since that period is really all about finding your voice, your style, and what you like. All of these were helpful, particularly how you talked about your social media presences since that’s something I’ve been struggling with nailing down. And I REALLY related to the professional vs. authenticity piece. Sometimes it feels like if I’m being professional in my delivery I’m somehow betraying my authentic, gamer side if that makes sense. As for the QOTD, have you ever struggled with collaborative opportunities with other brands that don’t align with your own?

If I have to be honest, I've always loved the idea of having a personal brand, but I just don't have any faith in my skills. Hell I don't even know if what I've been doing for the past 15 years is actually what I want to do for the rest of my life. I just don't know exactly WHAT though. I take a LITTLE beef with you on one thing. I believe that you have to be willing to meet people at 60%, half way isn't good enough. Will you have to go 60% every time, probably not, but you should be prepared to make that leap if need be. Otherwise, great stuff as always bro.

I was just watching a video that you uploaded 2 years ago on “Building Your Personal Brand from Scratch” and I heard you speak on (your own branded mini series or episodic content. I did have an actual TV show on the Cable TV channel here where I live through the Access Network which was a program that residents could put on shows free of charge. I’m wondering if that would qualify as an episodic program like you were speaking of. I know that I would like to make some money from these programs and and to be able to also pay my guest that we’re on the shows something and I would love to take your course however I am an older woman and am on a fixed income of barely over $1,000.00 a month. I did however have my guest to sign contracts to be on the show and in the contract it was stated that I would also put them on any kind of platform on the internet, known as of that time or to come in the future. The program is called “Christian Poets’ Spotlight” and is a Copyrighted program where I would have guest come on the show with whatever poetry that God had given them and after I found out that most of the poetry was not long enough to make a half hour show so I started having others come on to sing, praise dance, play music, or do skits, also I’ve put a couple of videos on there that were made from some of my poetry which was set to music. At the time that these shows were produced I had no idea that money could be made on RU-vid or any other platform on the internet. I have one video on RU-vid and it’s been on there since 2010 that our Manager over the studio uploaded for me if you’d like to take a look at it. You can find it under Mary’s Video MP4 or Jungledove1. I tried to upload another one myself but could not, I think because they got my stuff mixed up with that of the studio so I never tried again. I do know how to edit but I don’t know how to upload anything. I My intention was to just break up some of those shows into segments and put them on RU-vid but now that I’ve heard you talk about putting on whole shows I’m thinking that maybe I can do this. Do you know of any free information that I can get on how to put the shows on? If I can ever get around to selling my T-shirt’s then I could afford to take one of your courses. I’m trying to get shirts now to sell.
