I've been playing bass for 51 years. You sir have been one of my primary influences. That you are sharing during this difficult time has brought me more joy than I can describe. Thank you!
Mr. Leland Sklar & Mr. Daryl Stuermer, Wisconsin must produce great musicians because both gentlemen obviously met Phil Collins' exceptionally high standards.
The remastered cd: 2007 vs 1994? My review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ifqPF0kycrs.html New fan, old fan, new listener, you want to listen to Phil Collins and his talent on drums ? My suggestion-review ! f
My english is no good, i prefer write in spanish: gracias por tantas canciones, por tanto talento, amo y admiro tu trabajo, un abrazo lleno de luz desde Santiago de Chile!.
Thank you so much for sharing your time and music with us Lee. I'm 64 and have listened, loved and learned from your recordings for a long time. This is such a treat!
Leland, many blessings to you and yours. I have never played guitar, much less bass. Flute and piccolo player, if you can believe it. But I do so love the instrument. Many thanks for so generously showing how it's done.
My favourite song by Genesis and your bass playing is and always has been an inspiration to me. Along with the likes of Mike Porcaro , Bruce foxton , and Garry Tallent , you are one of the best to ever grace the bass. Thank you for sharing and keep safe.
Lelands RU-vid Channel is so great and I'm so happy that he began showing us a lot of his music. Mixed up with so many nice stories! I "know" him since I bought the marvellous album "JT" by James Taylor in 1977. It shaped my taste in music so much - and Lelands bass lines played a very large part in it. Many thanks, Mr. Leland Sklar!!
Mr Leland, Sir. Your choice of notes are most unique, with great feel! Your lines are very cool.Well thought out, concise, and bulging with harmonic structure! ...Shit! I'm inspired! Thank You!
Leland, I've listened to so many of you videos- to me this is wonderfully creative and takes the song to somewhere special. I always liked this track, but with your bass lines, I now know why it's still enjoyable many many years later. Thank you!
Lee - watching.and listening to you talk and play always makes me feel happier :-) this so one of my favourite songs of all time and sounds even better with more prominent base :-)
What an absolute legend!! Could watch you all day man. Was at the royal albert hall back when the tour started...amazing! Cannot stop going back to no ticket required full film from the 85 tour, wow that was a line up man!
Thanks Leland, your youtube channel it's a very good idea ... and especially at the moment. ...And I love Phil Collins... . Sorry for my english... I'm french ! from Paris...
What a wonderful surprise to see you playing here Leland! All the best for you man! Thanks for share all this bass knowledge with us! Greetings from Peru!
I think if I was to get lessons with a legend like LeLand or any of the other great Bassists I wouldn't be able to control my emotions. Autism already makes that very difficult and I'm an empath I feel things too deeply. And if I managed to make these fingers work and it clicks in my brain how to play I'd break down. It's because it's the greatest feeling of accomplishment ever. And I can't handle it. I would need time to process it and when I pick myself back up I'd be unstoppable. I have a 4 string I'm practicing on. Thing is neck heavy like crazy and it isn't the best quality so the sound is far from perfect but hey we have to start somewhere. It would be a dream just as a hobby to play like the man himself. Maybe upgrade to a 5 string and really ramp up my playing abilities. I've been in love with the bass guitar since I was around 15 years old I'm almost 38 now. And only picked up my own bass about 2 years about. One day... I know I'll win this.. And live my dreams. 👍
Love it, Lee. Keep it up, and thanks for the entertainment and stories. I've loved and admired your work through the years. Especially on the J.T. album - "Smiling Face"! So glad to see you're still on top! Good luck over there.
It´s interestig. Daryl usually plays the bass part on the stage. Here he plays Mike Rutherford´s part. I love to see and hear different versions. Thanks for sharing your bass playing with us.
