Weather in Mallorca in December, Jan is not great. This year in November, we had a huge amount of rain and storms. In February, the weather improves and you see lots of orange and lemon trees full of fruit. However, you have to be careful to dress properly as it can be quite cold in the shade and also once the sun sets and this is the case in March and April too (and sometimes in May). You can easily catch cold or flu and in March and April it can get quite windy especially in the evenings. Many people actually get flu and even pneumonia in winter due to the poor construction of apartments. Many people live in small studios of around 30 m square with no heating or AC and no double glazing (single glass windows) and it can be absolutely freezing.’ Many Mallorquins and locals are used to walking around their apartments with heavy wool blankets in winter. To be honest, personally, I can’t stand ensaimada! I’m glad you enjoy it. Personally the smell and taste of the pig fat makes me feel ill. What I do like are empanadas which make a great snack. They are actually Argentinian. In fact, many of the nice cafes and restaurants in Mallorca are run by Argentinians. I do like trampo. It actually makes a good breakfast.

I've seen many videos about living in Mallorca and I must say I really like yours al lot. You clearly have been living there for a while and you gave valuable first hand information. I will try the dishes you advised! I also love your finca as your escape from the city, that's a great idea!

Do you know if there are cheap-ish Spanish classes or groups to learn from? I know that natives speak Catalan, but I will be going to a different part of Spain afterwards, so I really want to learn Spanish

Hi! My partner and I are thinking of moving to Mallorca from Barcelona. I have been there once for a short time, but don’t have a good idea what are nice neighbourhoods/towns to live? I am planning on getting my driver license when I am there. So don’t have it now. Where would you advise two 26 year old people to live? We are leaving Barcelona because the busy city life is becoming too much. We looove nature, green, water, mountains, good local food :)
