you talked about BMW X5 like they are good cars, i purchased two, the first one started giving me problems after 3 years exactly after 5 years so many sensors problems and other things i made a big mistake i got another one i drove it for 3 years before i switched to Mercedes I had some problems too but better than the BMW (trash) i recently got the rx 500H I never feel so comfortable like that and it has power when you need it. the drive is way better than the 6 cylinder because we still have the 2022 rx 350 6 cylinder which i don't like to drive . i
The best thing about this Lexus is that it is NOT a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi, which can be money pits. Been there, done that. THanks but no thanks. My new RX350 is a delight.
@@jml9550 That actually makes sense because the Toyota plants are all run on the same TPS production methods. The workers all have to follow the same processes, the materials meet the same standards, and they follow the same blueprints. Where workers call home have little to do with quality so long as the workforce is stable.
We bought the 2023 RX350 Luxury. This is such a useless review. 4 cylinder is fine, 0 false alarms on them, interior is amazing, safety features are great, we're getting 25mpg in the city (non hybrid) and averaged 32mpg on the hwy. Towing, lol. Everyone knows, you buy this for toyota reliability, luxury, and the ability to have a vehicle that will outlast its competitors. Ive owned German cars for years, and the minute they hit 40-60k miles, get ready for a ton of maintenance randomly popping up. Lexus, all day
@@joerogan8723 We simply run premium in it. Ive read into the regular vs mid grade, but having owned a few turbo vehicles, its always been less problematic to run them on Premium (be it 91 or 93, whatever you have in your area).
I purchased the copper crest 350 RX luxury model and love it. I gave my 2009 Lexus RX 350 to my young nephew and he loves it. I’ll miss it, but it’s time to move on. Great car, well made and extremely reliable.
I just bought a 350 Premium+ last week. It was made in Japan and the quality is great all around. I didn’t have any issues with power or refinement. Love it. The only thing I don’t like is somehow it looks smaller than the last generation and at a glance could have been mistaken for an NX! 😂
Thats probably because its switched to the TNGA platform (same with the NX i think). Oddly specific, but how is the brake pedal placement? Because I currently own a '20 rx450h and the brake pedal is positioned higher than the gas pedal, a pain for long roadtrips. Also is there much road/wind noise at highway speeds?
I've just bought my fourth RX350. I always buy new, but when I test drove the 4 cylinder, it was a no sale. I bought a 2022 (last of the 6's) with 11k miles and I have no regrets.
Just traded our 2017 GLC (a money pit) for a 2024 RX 350. Cannot be happier. The RX is roomy, smooth and comfortable. A Pleasure to drive, family loves it. And it looks really nice in person (we went with iridium/Macademia interior)
I quickly bought the 2022 V6 when I heard the 2023 was a 4 banger with turbo. So glad I did. Lexus, you let all future RX buyers down. Out of curiosity, I test drove a 2023, less power, louder, and constant beeps when driving were turn offs.
And the 4-cylinder requires premium gas with almost no mpg improvement. SO disappointed they went with a 4-cylinder. I've had an RX for 12 years, absolutely love it. I was going to upgrade to the 2023 RX but I'm going to have to look for something else, or get a 2022 RX unfortunately. Lexus, what were you thinking!
Agreed ... they used TURBO ENGLINE and turbo engine last only 10-15 yrs then u have to fix it ... V6 is better but they discontinued it..disappointed :( ....
What a bunch of low information whiners, first off, the new 2023 is premium fuel recommended/ not required. Take some time and learn that this just means that with premium you will get better gas mileage as always, no matter a v6 or turbo 4. Also this particular turbo 4 is both direct and port injected so the valves won’t have carbon buildup like all the euro competition. Also the torque has been increased, meaning the actual power one feels is substantially higher then in previous RX models. Lexus and Toyota engineers are extremely smart with their vehicles especially the #1 selling midsize luxury crossover that has ever been sold. They have literally wiped everyone else out when it comes to knowing what customers want and how to deliver that product. Even if this comes as a bit of a surprise Audi, BMW,Mercedes, and yes Cadillac have all been trying to find their own RX and have failed for 25 years and running. All they build is something that looks good today and breaks tomorrow!!! If that’s your ticket, by all means get one of their P.O.S. I’ll stick with Lexus, they have the finest, most well built, durable and reliable lineup ever assembled in automotive history. Best of Luck in Your Endeavors
When I heard of the end of the V6, immediately went to trade in my 10 year old 450h to get a used 2019. In 10 more years I’ll see whether Lexus has learned anything
Me too. Waited for the debut of the 2023. Nixed the v6 was a deal breaker plus the hood looks like it should be on a truck. I worked hard to find the 2022 in my color. The last of the v6. All those changes for 1 MPG gain. SMH. Traded a 2013.
I have owned the 2023 RX350h for just over 6 months now and love it. It takes some time to transition and tune the settings to suit, particularly coming from a 2007 RX350 to a car that is full of new technology. The 7 problems mentioned here are, personally, not problems for me.
You forgot to mention that the 1-2 MPG improvement comes at the cost of having to fill up with premium va regular in the V6 which means yoh actually pay more for fuel overall!!
One major problem with this new generation RX for those who live in area who has winter is that the design of the front doors goes way below the floor of the car and it's collect all debris from the road. The result is during winter the inside of the doors at the bottom (the huge portion that goes under the floor) is full with snow, ice, calcium, sands. Absolutely terrible it looks awful when you open the doors to go in the car. We hated that on our RX 2023.

I had that car (450+ model) for couple days an strongly disagree with most things. Power is more than enough, it weights ~2200kg/4850lbs and it feels like compact car to drive, very agile. Super confy, fuel consumption in my case was outside city ~29-30MPG / 7.5-8.0L/100km. And only thing that was truly annoying was that beeping system saying that driver is not keeping attention. Stupid and bad system. But sides of that it was great in all aspects. If you are looking for a fast and sporty SUV then look for something else, RX500 is quick but still not so quick and pleasent i fast driving like bmw M60i xDrive. But it make no sense to compare RX to X5 two different worlds, X5 sucks at bumpy road even with adaptive suspension while RX was great at it.
It is a personal choice. I drove 2017, 2019 and 2022 RX 350. I traded in old one to get 2023 RX350 Premium Plus. Again, personal opinion: 2023 RX 350 is way way better. Transmission is super smoother. Engine is equally powerful and smoother than previous one. I miss old cars, but feel much great for the new one. A generational leap over 2022 model, IMHO. 😊
100% spot on with the body roll, brake pedal feel and the annoying advanced safety features. I've had the vehicle phantom brake when nothing was in my lane numerous times. Made an appt to have it checked next week. It's very comfortable, but the brakes and rotors definitely need an upgrade for its weight.
I own a 2023 rx350 and I owned a 2010; the engine has plenty of power; car reviewers seem to think that consumers are going to race NASCAR; it's ridiculous; top speed limit is 70 and it doesn't take but a few seconds to get there. The 2023 rx350 is fantastic.
I hated 4 cyl engines. They were rough idling, vibration producing machines with never enough power. I bought a 2023 Lexus RX350 Luxury 2.4L Turbo and have been truly enjoying this SUV. It has everything you could ever want in a car, Luxury is exactly what you get. It has plenty of low end torque, and the transmission is like butter. Will I win the Daytona 500 with it, No but I don't care. For the folks that bought the 2022 RX, I think you are missing out on a generational leap forward in technology and refinement.
Since it has the turbo, you need to change the oil & filter frequently and that means minimum of every six-months or 5,000 miles whichever comes first. Oil & filters are cheap (turbos and engines are expensive) per Scotty Kilmer and The Car Care Nut on YT.
@@randy74989 i have a honda accord with the 2.0t and i change my oil about every 7000-8000 miles. no problems yet (but only 5.5 years and 62k miles in)
Good advise to change oil every 5k or 6 mos. This is not your fathers turbo, they have come a long way. I could easily see this engine going 200K without any major problems.
I live in Phoenix and my RX 500h is not garage kept. The AC cools down me and my RX interior with no problem. My fuel mileage has been subpar thus far. My transmission is being replaced due to shuddering at low speeds. Hopefully the replacement will improve the MPG’s.

do the 2022's still have that horrible unusable mousepad setup for the center console or did it eventually get a touch screen you can use apple carplay with?
We own both a 2022 and the new 2023. The 2023 is the better car. Look way nicer and handle much better. Plus the interior that is more modern. 2023 rides smoother and the transmission is better. We love it. No problem with the 4 cyl turbo engine plenty of power and on the highway it's faster then the 2022. Less expensive on gaz. Side by side in our driveway the 2022 look dated.
The 4 is faster and lighter than the v6. I find it funny that people want loud exhaust but are bothered by a slightly louder engine than the v6. All the alerters are not as bad as they say. It does not go off as much as people say unless they are actually bad drivers. Front grill is so much better than the older models. I don't get grills that actual make there way up on to the hood of the car, that to me looks ugly. I find also the car is not under powered with 275 hp. The power is there when you need it. Best of all the car is actually reliable. Which is more than I can say for all the other cars like Porsche, BMW, Mercedes.. Those cars may be fun to drive but you will continue to pay for that fun over and over again...
Yeah I laugh at people complaining about the 4. If they need a lot of power, just get the 500H. I traded my 2022 Range Rover Sport HST which had a 395HP supercharged V6 for the 2024 RX 500H, and don’t miss the V6 one bit! The 500H is just as quick, yet much smoother and planted
I could not find/obtain an NX350h, RX350h or RX500h since November 2022. Six dealers in Texas said fuggedaboutit unless I wanted to pay $2,000 to get on a list with no guarantee of delivery for 9 to 12 mos. (first come first served on the list). So, a leasing dealer found an ES300h Ultra Luxury addition with additional options at one dealership 300 miles from my home, take it or leave it. We took it and have been enjoying it, since mid April and getting 44+ MPG. GLTA trying to obtain one of these fine vehicles. Hybrids are the way to go until EVs and EV battery technology is more robust as well as the infrastructure is built out, i.e., (TSLA Superchargers or like kind).
I been leasing RX’s since 2007 , I have all generation , and I’m getting 2023 one RX350 F Sport , drove it yesterday at the dealer , my current one is 2019 RX 350F , not much of the difference is noted between 4 cyl turbo engine and v6 that I have in my 2019, 4 cylinder turbo a little faster on take off , also I drove few BMW’s both 2024 at BMW dealer X3 and X5 , X3 4 cylinder complete garbage , but X5 is good I love it , you can’t compare to RX 350 , it’s a different class car with 6 cyl turbo engine , it has 100 horsepower more then RX of cause it faster , but value wise ain’t no better used cars that hold value more then rx350 does , all those BMW, MB, Audi SUV’s on use market loose much more value compare to RX, not sure why this happened, I guess may be reliability issues
Lexus reliability will suffer with the new turbo 4 cylinder which will have to work harder than the smooth v6 did, especially since the 4 is under powered-- another miscue by LEXUS. WHO is in charge at Lexus, the bean counters ?
2023 RX350 Luxury at 4,000 miles. $2500, for windshield replacement, is a bit of a shock and the front dash separation is a surprise as well. Almost had an accident, due to turbo lag and the need for premium fuel drains your wallet quickly. The ride is stable and would be quiet, if not for the cacophony of warning bells and buzzers, which turn a quiet drive into a thing of the past. The car almost drives itself between the white lines, but the auto braking from guard rails around curves and when approaching traffic is really annoying. Also, the Mark Levinson sound system seems highly overrated for the extra coin, and so far doesn't meet my expectations of a surround sound environment. Don't get me started on all of the steering wheel buttons and functions which are near impossible to operate in traffic.
This review is off the mark. You need to go and test drive one if you're in the market. This is not a competitor to BMW, Audi, Lincoln, etc... That's a good thing in my opinion. "Car Experts" are not driving the market - consumers are. The # units sold will tell you what's really happening.
I have a 2022 RX450h F Sport Takumi. Im annoyed about the infotainment system and the fact that cruise control allows overspeeding downhill. These factors are never commented on in reviews. Yes its a lovely drive but irritations are hard to ignore and spoil the ownership experience.
I think all what you mentioned is Wright the quality is going Damon. The door bucket is made from plastic and it's fixed the old 2020 was made from leather and you can move it. To hang up the phone is a big problem and takes time few months to adjust to the HuD over the glass. If it's noon time the sun reflection on the back of the car in front of you blind the HUD. GPS cut u off on the road. Or highway, which is dangerous. I like the old model
With the exception of LC Coupe, GX or the classic LFA, any new Lexus I buy in the future has to be hybrid or Plug-in hybrid, no exception. No pure EV please!
@@randy74989 nice. My 2017 ES350 average around 22MPG. Hopefully the next gen ES will offer a PHEV version. Or if Lexus offers a EV with 300+ miles at $55-60K I will be all over it.
Im sure your '22 RX will be great and inventory will be great as well! I Sees alot of untouched '22 in my Seattle area. Good luck and have fun with your '22 RX!
I Put 1200 miles on my 2023 RX premium plus. Engine is smooth and quiet. It will growl a little when you accelerate quickly from a dead stop, but I dont drive that way. This engine is also going into the new Toyota Land Cruiser. This car is nowhere near being under powered. Ride stability is very good for this size car. Is it a BMW X5 ? No! and who cares. The x5 is 15 K more for the same options...not worth it. As far as reliability, the BMW, MERCEDES, AUDI, GENESIS, VOLVO......NOT EVEN CLOSE TO LEXUS. Fuel economy for the non hybrid is just ok, but not horrible. Interior is very nice fit and finish is an A plus. The grill actually looks good now, I hated that mean ole spindle on the last model. It is the Best luxury crossover under 60K.
The video failed to mention that the new RX requires premium fuel that costs on average $1.00 a gallon more than regular & offers almost zero improvement in gas mileage from the old V6 model. The best RX to buy is 2020 thru 2022. V6, regular gas, & has an updated touchscreen.

@@johnthomas3863 Turbos recycle hot exhaust fumes back into the engine, creating more stress on the engine. I also don’t want toxic exhaust fumes going back into my car. Deal-breaker for me.
@@joelthorne7434 I would highly recommend you educating yourself on how a turbo works before posting. Firstly, turbos do not feed already burnt exhaust fumes back into the engine, instead they utilise the momentum of the CO2 in the exhaust manifolds to spin a fan (the turbo). This fan is connected to another fan on the other side of the turbo (separated from each other), which forces clean, outside air into the engine, so CO2 will not re enter the engine. Secondly, while you are partially correct, high psi turbos do indeed cause significant stress to the engine, but those are mainly used in either diesels or high performance vehicles. Youll find the turbo in the lexus RX to be a low PSI running one, so there is significantly less stress on the engine. Hope this helps for clarification.
We have 2017 model and I just drove this one. I couldn't believe how GOOD car it is. Price is a bargain for this. This car rides better than MB and BMW. No German car is better than this one except maybe X5 is 10% only better because of V6 which we don't care. Anybody wants to buy this car, make sure test it .
Some people are dumb .........the engine doesn't run the car ...........it is just a generator for the batteries . One electric motor to run the front wheels and another to run the rear wheels
I got a RX350h 2WD , everything is nice except the cabin noise , its terrible ...when trucks go past its a night mare. Any ideas to dampen this ? Not happy with this aspect at all
I couldn't wait a year for the Rx500 to delivery (Australia thing's) I end up get the BMW X5 i40 and you know what..it awesome, it not perfect all round but it is a great experience one should try.
Very glad we purchased a 2022 luxury edition, We love the old school interior and the smooth V6 engine. I think long term reliability with the 4 cylinder turbo with or without the battery and the electronic door handles will no way be as reliable as the old model.
This lexus rx350/350h fuck up. So weak. V4 turbocharged. V4 + hybrids. Come on not recommend to buy. 😢 Recommend buy 2016-2022 RX450h v6 3.5L+hybrids. 308hp.
Just test drive this RX500H. Although it has more power, it is not as smooth as my 2019 Kluger (Highlander) V6. The interior is certainly upscall compare to my Kluger, but I think the Genesis is better. This RX500H is 2.5 times the price of the Kluger. I decided not to give up my V6.
Test drove one. Very disappointed with the performance. Noisy engine struggling to pull the car. Felt like driving a U-HAUL truck. Also did n't like the front grill design.
This video does a good job explaining some of the issue. Something that is also important is the shifter. It is irritating. You move it forward to go in reverse and move in backwards to go forward. On top of that, if you are like me, and drive a manual also, you tend to keep your hand on the shifter. This is not a good idea with this car. On at least 3 occasions, I had to pull into heavy traffic while making a right turn doing it. In the process, the centrifugal force caused my right hand, which was resting on the shifter, to slightly pull the shifter to the left (just from the weight of my hand resting on the shifter). The car immediately went into Neutral, coz, well, to go into neutral you just pull the shifter to the left. Anyway, in doing so, the engine would rev up really high coz I was out of gear. Traffic is bearing down on me, and I tried to get it back into to drive, but NOOOOOO, it isn't that simple. I had to literally press the break to put the damn car back in drive. This nearly caused me to have an accident. A terrible design. Another driver I know with the same car was rear ended in the car wash, because she could not get the car back in drive from neutral at the end of the wash, and the car behind her slammed into the back of her Lexus. Another issue is related to Park. If you put the car in Park, while pressing the break, you cannot put the car in Drive, until you take your foot off the break and repress it. I've also noticed that the brake pedal feel is terrible, nothing like it feels on other cars. I noticed if I am not careful, even after I stop at a stop light, the car will suddenly start drifting forward making me have to press the brake pedal down even harder. Absolutely terrible. And, of course, when you push the pedal down more, the eco feature that turns the motor off kicks in (which BTW I'd like to permanently disable but can't seem to). Having to pay for premium fuel is a downer as well. The Lexus service department told me I could use regular unleaded, but what sort of problems will that cause in the long run? I'm sure they would be glad to fix any problems that might occur. The turbo charged 2.5L also sucks. It is noisy, sounds just like my Toyota Rav4, which also has the 2.5L engine. Imagine that. Not what you would expect from a Luxury car. It does lag on acceleration as well. I just leave the car in Sport mode. I would have rather had the V6. The over aggressive safety features are an irritation, making the drive experience suck. I hate the car and wish I'd never bought it.
I don't see smooth ride and comfort instead of so called sportines as a problem.. and still no BMW X5 will never drive like a normal sport car becouse of the size and the height of the car.
Just picked up my RX350h last week. One hundred seventy-five miles so far (OK a pittance) but I am averaging a bit under 37 miles per gallon on mostly local with perhaps 1/4 highway driving. Everyone who has seen the car remarks on its stellar looks (Nebula Gray Pearl exterior w/ light grey interior). In addition, I am 6:3 and the driver's position is quite comfortable for a guy my size. I looked at most of what is comparable- Audi, BMW, Mercedes- and eventually decided on this car based on what I expect reliability wise and cost of repair and upkeep. In addition, the styling of all perhaps except the Mercedes GLC was not in the league of this vehicle. I also wanted a hybrid; albeit, I had to wait 2 weeks for it and here in NJ I paid a $2000.00 upcharge (had to suck it up). Bottom line...Every car presented here on RU-vid has pluses and minuses as well as acolytes and naysayers. I must have looked at 50 car review videos! I think I made a good choice and recommend that you at least give the RX350 a look. With cars like Kia and Toyota SUVs in some cases now pushing near or over $50.000, this luxury vehicle actually is competitive pricewise. I am no snob about everyday vehicles as I owned and loved my loaded 2019 Kia Optima traded in to purchase the RX. Hard for me to believe that is where things stand pricewise now but it is the case, at least in New Jersey.
Like you, I researched quite a bit and given what’s out there, this vehicle regardless of how lame the 4 cylinder is made out to be in reviews, is a great choice. Every vehicle has its proposition and it’s impossible to please everyone with technical and creature-comfort features. The new RX is a great compromise.
@@kumarbalan10 Kbn10, you can't even hear the engine when it starts up. I have to look at the gauges for the READY indicator thanks to the electric engine. That being said some people just hate the idea of a 4 cylinder. I get it; so be it. Do I expect it to whine a bit at high speeds- yes. Am I that bothered about the prospect-no because of everything else it brings to the table and the cabin is very quiet up to 50 mpg so far. Yeah, your final comment hits the mark- its a great compromise. By the way, I also have a 2021 base GMC Acadia with a V6 which I got as a demo with under 1500 miles for $32,000. I do like my Acadia, as well. But fitted out new with what I have in the RX (if I could do it), I would looking at $48-50,000 pricewise. Wow. Best.
@@joemysterymusic I rely on spotify to nullify any car noise at high speeds! I have a bigger issue though. I live in Ontario, Canada and we're fighting increasing rates of car thefts. While waiting for my RX to be delivered later this month, I am trying to figure out the best means to protect from an incident. Have you had to worry about that?

I own this vehicle - 2023 RX350H. Several months ago I drove a 2020 Rav4 rental car and I found the engine noise to be loud, rough clanky/buzzy noise, but it had good acceleration. Anyway, I knew the same motor would be in the RX, but I expected Lexus would fine tune and quiet it down... boy was I wrong. As soon as I heard that motor run under load the first thought through my mind was "this sounds just like that dam Rav4!". Yes I was disappointed, especially considering what I paid. The car handles great otherwise, and so far in local driving I'm averaging 31mpg. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but for what I paid this car's engine noise is too LOUD.
