Wonderful way to intercede when you don’t know what to pray or say. Also a great way to realign with God is praying in the spirit and focusing our mind on God. Isaiah 26:3 (TLB) He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!

Amen and Amen! I'm so happy you spoke about tongues. Not many do. This morning, as every morning, I sat out on my patio reading God' Word. I was battling any evil force's around my City. I sat quietly listening to the bird's singing praises to their Creator. I started praying in tongues then a song broke out through the Holy Spirit. God is so Good was going through a lot and Lord reminded me to speak in tongues yesterday infact he reminds me of dream I had 2years back ....I was walking in the road 2 witches flew over my head on broomsticks and the one told the other that she doesn't like me especially when I'm praying in tongues. Undebatable. Praying in tongues is the best thing God has given me besides salvation. It has revolutionized my prayer life like nothing else and I can't thank the father enough for it. I got my tongues in my room alone in 2006 just starting my christian walk and it's been a pure joy and has been a life saver for my and many peoples lives from the revelation I've gotten through praying. When I don't feel like praying or can't find the words to say I speak in tongues and it revitalizes me into worship and stirs up my spirit like nothing else to keep going. If I get anxious or feel stressed praying in tongues no matter how long calms me down with a godly peace. Especially since I have a seer/prophetic gift/call tongues has helped me decipher meanings to things I've seen. It is the best gift and I don't take it for granted.
What a powerful and wonderful gift the Lord has given us. He has made it so easy for us to pray when we know not what to pray about, or how to pray. So full of grace.

I truly believe you already have your prayer language. When you sense His leading open your mouth and let that language out. Don't compare it to earthly language. Also, do not be ashamed or afraid. Just relax into the LORD.

Many times when I am in the midst of public crowds and the spiritual warfare is high, I find myself speaking in tongues, inwardly and outwardly, as a protective covering over my mind. But more than anything it brings a peace and joy and heightens my discernment in the spirit. I love this video!!
Speaking in tongues is simply speaking the Truth. Hearing the Truth, some will understand and some will not. Question is, do you speak the Truth? And how do you know?

Desire spiritual gifts, then ask. Have faith like a child. My little girl asked for it one night once I showed her, when she woke up she was so excited to do it! I never met anyone that didn't get it who wanted it.

Hi, it's for every believer and is a sign of having the holy spirit. Ask God to baptise you with the holy spirit and ask him for the gift of tongues or have someone pray with you to receive it.
Brother Tongues is for Believer to Grow in Faith and in Spirit. However Apostle Paul says that we should desire for the Gift of interpretation of tongues because as much as it is important to grow in Spirit it is important to grown in Understand, I desire to interpret tongues as I can understand what The Holy Spirit is leading me into when I prophesy, bless in tongues. We know from Paul’s other writings this is likely “the unintelligible, mind-unfruitful/unproductive, mysteries [to us] grace-gift of tongues unto God” (e), which is “proseuchomai conversationally-praying secrets/mysteries, revelations, and thanksgiving unto God” (f) that is the way we “build ourselves up (g) in our most Holy Faith” in order to “carefully guard ourselves” in order to “keep ourselves in/by The Unconditional-Love of God, [and this keeps us] looking forward to the unconditionally-loving kindness of Christ that gives us zoe genuine-life forever” (h). Thus proseuchomai conversationally-praying in tongues may indeed be what Paul had in mind when he said: “put to death the misdeeds of the body by the means of the Spirit in order to zoe genuinely-live” (i). Kenneth Hagin said: “I have found in my own life over a period of more than 60 years that the more I speak in tongues-the more I pray and worship God in tongues-the more manifestation of the other grace-gifts of the Spirit I have in my life too. And the less I speak in tongues, the less manifestation of the supernatural grace-gifts of the Holy Spirit I have operating in my life.” a) pas usually doesn’t mean “the whole or entirety of” but like here, “every of a portion, class, category, or kind of”, b) the monologue of deesis supplication is unique from the dialogue of proseuche conversational-prayer. Here Paul wants you to do both but because of kai, in a linked, integrated way, c) by adding the present participle proseuchomai, Paul is clearly pointing out the emphasis of prayer: not the monologue of deesis supplication in our own native language but the dialogue of proseuche conversational-prayer in tongues, where the Holy Spirit gets to speak in intercession as our Paraklesos Advocate and with praise/thanksgiving to the Father, d) Ephesians 6:18, e) 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 9, 14-15 - see Grace-Gifts, f) 1 Corinthians 14:6, 17, g) 1 Corinthians 14:4, h) Jude 1:20, i) Romans 8:13.
The Word of God only speak about two benefits from speaking in tongues: 1. When we speak in tongues we speak mysteries to God. «For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.» (1 Corinthians 14:2 NIV) 2. When we speak in tongues our life is edified. «Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.» (1 Corinthians 14:4 NIV)
Paul is speaking about the gift of tongues with interpretation. The holy spirit speaks through a person and another gets the interpretation for us to understand. It's for the building of the church. Eric is talking about the personal gift of tongues which God gives to us for personal use to connect with him and to build ourselfs up in our relationship with him. It's as easy as just asking him to release it from your spirit. If you are indwelled by the holy spirit, you have a personal language. It's the spirits language. Ask for the baptism of the holy spirit with the gift of tongues following;) The last blockage to just speak is the mind that tries to interrupt it. But how he will benefit from it. If you ask God for it, you can do it without fear or doubt. Or maybe he will stirr it in you in a moment that you don't expect. Both is possible. I started to experience the gift in small syllables. And over time the language grew more and more in depth.

It ushers in the spirit of God's Peace. It is the best and fastest way I know to calm down and trust that God is in control...and that helps me everyday.
I’m very frustrated by tongues. So many people talk about how wonderful and uplifting it is but it doesn’t do anything for me and I just find myself making the same sounds over and over again. How can it be a conversation with God or from the Holy spirit if it’s so repetitive when He is creativity. I long to get what others do about it.
praying in tongues is good but believing and rest in the finished work of the cross is ultimately the goal. It is finished and done, now believe. It’s ok to not understand some things or experience other things, but it’s best to rest and believe in His work done for you.
If the Holy Spirit is giving you this gift, it will consume you. The air coming in and going out and the formation with your mouth is controlled by "something other than yourself", and it many times begins and ends without your control. If you have to force it, I would assume it is of you and not the Spirit of God.
There are times I am awakened in the night praying in tongues! Times throughout the day a wrong thought will enter in my mind and immediately I pray in tongues without thinking and it brings me back to Christ centered thoughts. I am sooo grateful to God for my prayer language. Glory to God!
Amen! Praying in tongues is so powerful. When I was spiritually attacked in my dream, I woke up praying in tongues! I watched the evil, demonic spirit leave me immediately. This happened during a time when I wasn't very comfortable praying in tongues. It was very powerful - it is your prayer language with the Lord.

Now I know what "tongues" (glossa in Greek - 1 Corinthians 14:14-15) are: This morning early I woke suddenly because I audibly heard the most incredible sound and it was loud but strangely didn't hurt my ears: It was a vast sea of people before the throne all praising God in their own languages along with the angels in their own languages. I could not see them but knew this was happening. Then I found myself compelled to join in but it was in "tongues" that sounded similar to the composite of all the languages. Periodically I could hear the meanings of phrases spoken by individuals. You could hear pops like twinkling of stars and rumbles like thunder. These were shouts of victory and stomping in feverish dance. There was strong reverb as if all these people were in a great hall of stone. I hope I never forget this sound! It is very beckoning. The "composite" aspect reminded me of an episode of Star Trek Next Generation where Data had to filter a recording of the entire crew of 1000 voices and we got to hear the effect of eliminating one type of voice after another. The "tongues" the Spirit gives people are various filter-clips of this "composite" sea of voices, thus "tongues of men and angels" (1 Corinthians 13:1) unto God not men, the understanding hidden from your own mind unless revealed (1 Cor 14:2). Tongues builds yourself up and so Paul says we should all do this (vv. 4-5). This "composite" contains thanksgiving, revelation, prophecy, teaching (vv. 6, 16-17) and you can ask for this to be revealed, as I heard different phrases, especially to build others up, so in Church take turns with tongues interpreted and also prophecy (vv. 26-27) The funny part of this is that when I woke up, what had triggered this was very loud motorcycles racing down a main street near my house. Since Biden's lawlessness has taken over America - Jesus said in Matthew 24:12 that near the end "because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold" - i now hear them and cars doing this at all hours of the night and morning with no fear. THEY SAY: If the government doesn't follow the law (though Supreme Court just ruled against Biden policy, and more coming) and can lie about everything to cover their tracks, then WHY CAN'T WE? THEY SAY: there are no police left after the Demon-crats have DEFUNDED them and so many are resigning or being fired because they refuse to be violated by vaccine mandates. WE ARE FREE to do as we want regardless of others - after all, that's what are government is doing. We only need to "love thyself". 'Rules for Thee But not for me,' just as with our leaders. So we are heading toward anarchy and then attempted mob rule unless: A miracle of heaven comes by "conviction of the Holy Spirit of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come." Charles, reject everything that isn't faith in Christ's finished work for you and yielding to the Spirit. We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. Come to Him. What we do in the time of victory is the same thing we do in the time of failure. Just come to Him. He will set things right in your heart and kiss away your doubts.

I have been asking God Father to allow me to speak tongues for a while now , I have been prayed over about it and I have not received. I feel inadequate or something is wrong with me. Some say just open your mouth and speak, well I do not want to "fake" it. Can someone please help me.
Ok, honest question. Is praying in tongues a spiritual gift that bot everyone has?? I have been praying for the gift to speak in tongues more times than I can count and cannot. I became born again when I was 21. I have heard the Holy Spirit soo many times. I don't know why I cannot speak in tongues.

Eric, if you could find a recording to post of the sound of a lot of people speaking/singing in tongues without music covering up, I bet it sounds like some of what I last posted. My dream "compilation of men & angels" sounded similar.
How does one convince someone..like Chris Rosenberg, for eg. That really knows the word..but I did hear him say, pretty much it's just jabbering? Itself speak in tongues but very rarely.

I spent a long time thinking I couldn't speak in tongues. Then I just felt like I should try it for half an hour a day, by day two I'm like yep, feels good and that's not just me. Don't remember a moment before that when I clearly "received" the gift.
Hi Eric, I have been listning to your teachings and it has inspired me to go deeper with God. One thing I am struggling with is this image of "his kisses" you speak about it alot and I can't picture myself being in it. I have tried to put myself in the picture being so close but can't seem to get there and maybe cuz I'm a guy. I know it's in the spirit and not physical but even then it seems impossible. any suggestions? Thx
I don't know how to just speak in tongues like a switch turning it on and off. My tongues come once I'm out of my flesh after praying in English. If that make sense
