@therealgarygnu I completely agree with you - depends on the industry. The key point is you sending the image you want to send - not leaving it to chance.
Thanks for all the help that you are providing. exactly what I have been looking for. Any color suits me , but since I am a bit short, I find it difficult to find off the rack suits for me, but I am generally dressed well.
@Real Men Real Style Thank you for these videos. As an audio visual technician for a resort hotel, appearance is incredibly important: it sets tone and impression from the moment you step in the building to the minute you step out.
Love the video! I brought this up on Facebook, (now you can connect my accounts) but I do think that it does depend on the type of conference or its its industry. You responded with a great point about controlling one's image. Your example of a blogging conference, the dressing expectations are not high, but one can control their image and set themselves apart. That might not work with other industries, say some sort of outdoors industry... where formal wear is really too much.
Antonio , Greetings from Chicago... Your image is your business is key.. Nice.. Its all about the way you dress the way you speak, Can you sell your ideas. Keep up the great work keep posting videos...
@yamato99935 If you can find a decent fit in the shoulders and overall length, an off-the-rack or even second-hand jacket can be altered in the sleeves and waist for a pretty sharp-looking fit at a decent cost. A fully bespoke fit is definitely going to be more of an investment, though, you're absolutely right!
"You are meeting a lot of people who think of you as an expert, for the first time. Live up to that image" I could not agree more. This essentially sums up everything. Do not disappoint people and let down their expectations by being just another 'bum off the street'.
Hi there! I appreciate the videos and awesome tips. Lol I'm a 25 yr old lady & new subscriber. Woot woot! This video & "why wear a watch" was a revelation to my spirit! Keep the vids coming.
Hello. I just want to thank you for the tips. It would be great if young people of my country (martinique) understand that dressing sharp is an important point . A lot of them don't pay attention on the image they transmit with their clothes. It's awful to wear jeans or kicks at a conference, a meeting or a job interview. It shows a lack of respect toward people around you. So thank you. Your videos are really useful! Samy
ran out of characters... but my point is, as with any communication (and one's clothing is a form of nonverbal communication) is that the audience needs to be considered. Overdressing can send the wrong message just as under dressing can. (That's a shame..) On a personal note, what I love about dressing with style is the almost instant respect it gives you. And that goes a long way in say a rural area where people don't dress up often. It says that I'm serious, please treat me that way.
Hey man! I've really appreciated a lot of your tips! My question is do you have some tips for me in terms of something warm for winter. I live in Australia so our winters are fairly mild, not usually below freezing. Age: 19 Height 5.6 feet. Thanks so much!
Question ; I have several made to order suits that simply do not fit any more do to my weight loss from diabetes. Can I bring them to a tailor and have him re size them, They no longer fit in the shoulder and the body is to big. Thank you
+Linda Oliver great to hear from you - this should help: www.realmenrealstyle.com/gaining-losing-weight-mens-clothing-menswear-alterations-adjustments/
It's good advice, but for real sharpness you will likely need either alterations to retail wear, or entire clothes made to measure / bespoke. Some people may not be able to afford that or have access to that. Sure you can just buy a suit off the rack but that will in most cases not look very professional because it does not conform to your body. Being sharp, after all, seems to be a quite expensive affair. But that's just me.
I'm already a subscriber...and by inviting me each time to subscribe when the video start is kind of turning into a unsubscribing reason...why don't you ask it at the end? If the person who is watching the video likes it, then he will listen to it completely and at the end will think about subscribing...just saying (sorry for my bad english, it's my second language)
