This is the most ridiculous video. Cat scratching posts and beds? Um...seems to me that these are no more female issues than they are just cat issues. I have 3 females and 2 males and they are all intact. All easy going and just want to be where there people are.

I’m watching and can’t believe what is being said. That’s absolute rubbish! Female MCO picky prima-donna that poops and sheds a lot and is prone to hip dysplasia. As if the males were much different. All my MCOs are cuddly, purry and playful. Yes, they eat like horses and everybody knows that what went in, must go out 😂 But demonising female MCOs I can’t agree with.

sorry, but most of these points are silly. This is more like a list as to why any cat might not be for you. I have male and female cats and my female Maine Coon is a gem. She isn't demanding or require any more attention than any of my other fur babies. The only point I see relevant is that she does require more food than my reg. cats. If you are watching this video trying to decide if you want to add a female Maine Coon to your family do not let this video dissuade you. They are lovely cats that are quite social and lovey.

Mine sleeps right beside me. Won't use her cat beds. She's not very scared of things. Eats my food & the dogs. The dogs are scared of her, she's a bully. Very affectionate to me but nobody else. Really hates women, especially my girlfriend. Ex now lol.

My female Maine coon is very chill not diva at all. Only thing is she only wants to be touched on her terms, but will follow me around everywhere I go. I think most cats are like this

I love my babygirl. She may not be full blooded Maine Coon because I'd never buy a pet but she acts like one. She's more like a dog. Plays fetch, sleeps at night and rarely naps during the day. Runs right up to strangers for pets. You do need to brush them a lot but she likes it so it's more of a bonding thing for us. I wouldn't take a million bucks for our little (haha) girl.

My Maine Coon Lilly is a princess and she knows it too!! She alerts me to when my glucose level is too low before I am aware of any problem. And so I am more than honored to serve her highness!!!!

My home was filled with six cats for almost 12 years. Three of those were female Maine Coons and one was a male. The other two were rescues who came to live with us after 2.5 years, and they were little domestic short haired cats of undetermined heritage. ALL four of my Maine Coons required daily brushing, not just the girls. They all ate high quality Maine Coon cat food, kibble and canned. The two very large cat boxes in the hall bathroom were cleaned four times a day: upon waking, right before I left for work, as soon as I got home from work, and right before bedtime. There were most nights I had 5 of the 6 cats on the bed; all the MC cats, and one of the rescues. Each cat had her own personality, none were overly 'diva-ish' or had attitude (catitude?). The only 'con' I agree with is the need for daily brushing or combing, but that also was part of the male Maine Coon daily routine. As for your other 'cons', I do not agree, nor did I experience any other untoward behaviors or issues. All of my Maine Coon cats were sociable, goofy, playful and smart. They 'talked', but it was more chirping and trilling, not yowling or even meowing. The little rescues were more 'meow-ers' but that only happened during meal time. How many and for how long did or do you have any Maine Coon cats sharing your home? I ask this because the only 'con' I would agree with is the need to stay on top of brushing. That can get out of hand very quickly. One of my girls' fur had the tendency to mat after two days, and had to have her belly shaved during the summer. Having the sisal cat trees helped the nail situation, and none had issues with scratching the upholstery. As a cat owner, one must allow for cats being cats and furnish one's home accordingly. If a cat is to be part of the household, they are entitled to their own furniture! Overall, I would l say I disagree with your assessment, especially toward female Maine Coons. My three were absolutely fabulous!

Some truth here, but males have similar traits. To say a female needs more brushing, eats and poops more compared to a male is bunk...

I lost the bed battle. Everything else is working out this far. One of the scratches everything but I am now diligently training her to use the cat post. I think it is worth getting another one.
