Saber0003 I’m actually really enjoying Quina mechanically, the blue magic spells are actually kind of worth it at times. Amarant though I’m not really sure what to do with, I don’t quite understand what his utility is even supposed to be. I can’t think of a single final fantasy, or even a JRPG in general where I used any sort of “throw” ability. The damage isn’t anything special, you lose your equipment using it, and I can achieve the same ends with much easier means without missing out on any meaningful strategic potential. I just don’t understand the point of that ability. I guess it’s okay in Final Fantasy 10 because the different stealables can inflict status ailments on the entire enemy team as opposed to just one enemy like Wakka can, but even then I still don’t use the use ability all that much (even if I really should.)
@@Xane875 I'm not a fan of the Blue Mage Archetype. Sure, moves like Mighty Guard and White Wind are almost always great, but I just don't like the methods of obtaining Blue Mage spells. Unless you're following a guide, or have played the game before, its easy to miss out on good spells and in some cases, never have another chance at them. To top it off, Quina's design has always been off putting to me, so I just never bothered with s/him. Amarant on the other hand, is hands down the worst Monk Archetype in Final Fantasy. No excuse for how bad he is in comparison with other Monks and the rest of the FFIX cast.
@@Saber0003 I actually ended up getting some of Quina's better spells without using a guide on my first playthrough, but I did end up using a guide to finish him/her off. Relative to how Blue Magic has worked in earlier games, it's actually quite a bit easier to do in 9 because "Eat" is a more consistent and reliable method than hoping an enemy hits the blue mage with the specific ability. Kimahri from Final Fantasy 10 is an easier blue mage to get the abilities for but he's also a much worse character in general because his blue magic is only available in Overdrive and his damage output is really hard to salvage. There are ways to make him work (unlike Amarant for instance), but my point is that Lancet is an even easier way to learn blue magic than eat. The one thing that works in Quina's favor is that she can get all of her usable abilities instantly and don't have to grind out individual weapons to get abilities, so grinding her abilities generally takes a lot shorter than getting every ability on every single other character. Normally I like blue magic more on paper than in practice, but Quina's an exception for me.
@@Xane875 I can understand that. Blue Mage definitely has its perks if you put in the time. I do enjoy Enemy Skill in FF7, but then again, its not something you have to commit fully to. Just equip the materia and it becomes another option instead of everything the character is good at.
You gotta level everyone, my favorite situation is talking to people who are having trouble with a boss and saying "swap to X, their Y attack is really good against this boss" to find out they've left them 30-40 levels down because they're "not on my team."
How about when the main characters get split into 2 teams and the team members that you haven't been using are super weak and can't do any damage what so ever
That fkced me in some games I played lol, but glad that I sabe often and as soon antes area split my team I would keep characters evenly leveled in that game.
Snow was actually almost always on my team. The harder the enemies, the more I used him. I think it was more about the combination of the team. A saboteur and sentinel together would let me speed through the game.
Over 80 endings. Recruitment but certain limitations. You can't that character if this one is already there. A hard learning curve. At least for me. Yes one of the great underrated RPGs. Just Vagrant Story. One of the all time greats. In my top 1o. You can't even go to certain areas until your 2nd playthrough. Plus one of the best GET OUT twist of an ending.
@@ricardolujan4791 Well, general consensus were Glenn (Second best, also have dual skill with Serge.), Karsh (best damage if Serge and Glenn didn't get Mastermune and double Einhanzer or second best if you save Kid since you didn't get Glenn.) and Fargo (Best stealer in the game.) Yeah, that's it. Those guy are like the best for their job and you gotta choose NOT TO SAVE KID just to receive the best secondary character from the game.
lokasocba Morgana literally never leaves my front line, he has the best healing moves in the game, and when your fighting bosses or enemies with no weaknesses, Miracle Punch is.... Well a miracle
That Miracle Punch also comes in handy against Treasure Demons, especially the ones that don't have weaknesses. Also, maybe it's because I played Persona 4 and had to deal with Teddie, but I never found Morgana that irritating.
LegalAssassin Ooh, I feel you. I remember Yosuke and Teddie being among my favorite characters in my first P4 run, but when I came back with Golden, their perversion got to me. Particularly Yosuke, who kept getting me in trouble with the female party members for antics I wanted no part of.
Rule A : 1) Thou shalt level grind until capped level or until such a time that one can whack the final boss into oblivion using even the most basic of early game abilities for they deserved that thrashing and thou shalt always feel like a god when playing JRPGs.
Grinding is actually the thing i actually DON'T like in rpgs. I love rpgs, don't get me wrong, but i almost always avoid encounters when possible. in Final Fantasy 8 i used encounter none for nearly the entire game.
I can still remember in a Friday Feature from a while back...can't remember which...you Rob was trash-talking about Cait Sith and finished by saying and I quote: "WHO THE HELL HAS CAIT SITH IN THEIR PARTY!?" and then Delsin appears at your side, ashamed since he does use Cait Sith. I miss the little bugger. Where is Delsin anyway? Hope you didn't run him over with your car, Rob.😾
Silver I'm basing this off the fact that I was 12 when I first played FFX. And when you see people with lances and swords and magic, the last thing you wanted to do was hit someone with a ball
Bobby Bobby I can remember many of them, be it because I liked them, or they were just odd enough to stand out. Many did feel like fillers, but at the same time it did add to the replay value. It took three runs, making different choices in each, to recruit them all.
Still there were really idiotic characters there, like Korcha, or the Fungus bloke, or the sheep thing that could change forms. I usually went with Serge (duh), Norris as the leader, and Luccia or the Viper manor Princess (I don't remember her name).
That's because Cait Sith is a pretty decent character. High HP with a decent magic score, so you can load him down with magic material without crippling him. Yes, his Slots Limit can be annoying, but the Dice Limit just gets better and better as he levels up....
Cait Sith is one of the most broken characters of all time. His Game Over limit break can one shot anything in the game and works on bosses, including the Weapons. There's a reason FFVII speedruns have no slots categories.
If you were a gambler, then Cait Sith was your man. If you cast his grim reaper slot, it would one shot anything, including bosses. He's technically the most powerful character in Final Fantasy history.
I'm on my first playthrough and honestly I benched Morgana for a bit but by level 22 he was a mainstay basically to heal everyone each turn, and use lucky punch when needed, but just having him there saved me so much annoyance, especially when he gets the 2nd heal all ability and revival
1. Amarant is a badass, also aura, chakra and revive are all super useful if your just playing through the game normally without grinding thievery, dragon crest, levels to get Steiner's hp super high and so on. Also his damage is actually excellent if you throw rising suns and wing edges. Not to mention hes god tier vs flying enemies. 2. Really can't stand Shana. And yes she is objectively the worst party member in combat in the game. Period. 3. Ershin as you said *SPOILERS* becomes an extremely good character once Deis fully awakens within her and you get all of Deis' absurdly powerful spells and abilities. They did a good job making everyone viable in BoF 4 actually. 4. Morgana is probably the best character in the game. As much as I am loathe to admit it, lol. It seems like more enemies in this game are weak against wind than any element. His stat spread is excellent, similar to yukikos, who was also the best character in her respective game (for the main story and obviously minus the protagonist). Learns literally zero useless moves unlike every other character learning at least one or more throwaway skills. Also lucky punch is kind of op and broken, especially on harder difficulties. Lol. 5. Snow is the best tank in the game. Pretty beastly honestly. Super vital against alot of the harder bosses if you want to make things as easy as possible on yourself. His main three crystarium roles are again probably the best spread in the game for the majority of the main story. Agreed though that I am not a huge fan of his personality though. 6. This is pretty accurate. 7. Roger again sadly is a pretty good character in combat. Only sadly because I agree that his personality is pretty horrible. As an aside. Mainspreading, really? Zzz.
I remember how Amarant single-handedly won the boss fight in Oeil Vert by throwing and dealing 7k damage in one hit right away. I don't see how he is "bad".
Shana's Dragoon is actually broken in the late game, when magic and aillments are more prominent. With her gargantuan magic stats & speed she can wipe the floor very fast using magic throwing items, but yeah leveling her is way too boring..
Snow got on my nerves but he and Fang are the best tanks so it boils down to who you like more personality wise and or stat wise. Depending on your play style, I used Fang personally.
I feel bad for you. hopefully you were just using monica with some ABS plus weapon near endgame, killing an enemy, and immediately swapping to the monster to get the abs? would suck trying to level them and use them for actual fights. Hell, i liked doing that just for leveling secondary weapons, for whatever purpose.
leeman27534 That’s exactly what I did to get up to thunder gemron in the palace, then used that floor with all the card soldiers in the mine to get to fire gemron
Kimahri, Final Fantasy X. I love the character, and his overdrives can be amazing, but... I only use him for that very first Sin boss fight on the boat.
@@misterbxiv See, I always take Tidas down Auron's path and Auron down Tidas' path, and Tidas ends up the stronger character (I do this switch-up after taking both a ways down their own paths). Then I do the same switch-up between Yuna and Lulu, and I basically end up with two black mages, one of which can summon and has a high capacity for white magic as well as black. By the way, having two black mages and a Tidas that is both Tidas and Auron as your line-up can get you surprisingly far.
@@Vigilante8841 Can confirm this. If you use Ability-Spheres on Yuna in the earlier game getting Lulu's magic she gets riddicously strong, because all of her magic points originally intended for healing and aeons are now offensive magic. Lulus path gives you around 50 magic at the end, while Yuna has on her path 65. In combat it means that Yuna does around 5000 with Fire2, while Lulu needs Fire3 to achieve this.
Morgana is the best possible choice for your white mage in Persona 5. He's the only one besides Joker who can learn both revival spells and Salvation. Ann's healing only goes up to Diarahan and not Mediarahan. Makoto has other options for her skill slots making it ill-advised for her to focus purely on one play style. Haru only heals status ailments and not HP. You only have Akechi for a single Palace. And you don't even have control over which skill Futaba uses next.
Err, no you don't. Money is too important in this game to be spent just on Revives when you could be doing that for more Executions and better weapons. Morgana ftw.
True, Morgana's really useful as both a healer and a wind mage. And if people whine about the defences, then they really need to get some better gear on him. Nekomata + Armour, Crystal Skull accessory, Claimoh Solais sword and you're golden
Technichally the only truly useless character is Yusuke. Ann and Ryuji deal the most magical and physical damage respectively because they learn the respective focus skills and the most powerfull spells. Makoto is a tank Healer for grinding and just going about all the dungeons. Haru can use Heat Riser which is always good for rapidly killing sub bosses or strong foes and Bullet based skills so thats good in certain areas. Morgana is a good healer for the bossfights since you can get rid of ailments and revive on the spot. Just needs the good armor for endgame and it will do better than Makoto for those specific scenarios. Yusuke just looks cool...that and hes a poormans Ryuji that doesnt do as much damage. If he had learned Debilitate then he would be Key for a Glasscannon strategy but they gave that to Akechi :/
Cloud, but in Final Fantasy Tactics ~you recruit him at level 1, while every other guest character you recruit level is equal to your average party member level at the moment ~you need to find his sword in the top of volcanic mountain before you can use his special "limit" skills, otherwise he is very much generic and not special at all ~after you found said sword, his "limit" skills count as charge skill, meaning you'll need several turn before actually unleashing his limit skill ~most of his skill are scaled with bravery, if he dead a lot while you leveling him up, well his damage output will be garbage pretty much, recruiting him while all others party member already maxed out is like babysitting.
suicidal thought 4 today But that's a SRPG, your whole argument is invalid...just kidding. Cloud in FFT sounds like an archetype from Fire Emblem called "Est": a really weak character found almost at the end of the game that can destroy anything if you train him but it's not worth it because your army is powerful at that point.
Except that parties are more than just one character. I loved T.G. Cid, but i also always got Cloud. In fact i always recruited Named characters, and if i ran out of space i would delete a user generated character, since Named characters are simply better. My elite party consisted of Ramza, Mustadio, TG Cid, Cloud, and (Meliadoul, Construct 8, Beowulf)
really? my team has always been Ramza Agrias and 3 female knights chantage+ ribbon+ excalibur= immortal (honestly Agrias is terrifying when you give her Math skill, a rune blade and wizard's robe in addition to the above)
Yeah I never used Snow either. Given Lightning's high and well rounded stats, Hope's high magic stat making up for his pathetic HP later on and Fang being a better Sentinel, Snow never had any chance.
Amarant or however u say it is actually a support character , his trance is absolutely amazing he can auto life the whole party and restore lost MP with chakra.
I really like Morgana in Persona 5 and put him in the line up almost the whole time. That Mediarama healing the whole party was super useful. Also, Morgana win animation, priceless :)
Have a feeling this guy didnt get very far or understand the game very well. Probably put it in the video cuz he has only played FF Titles and needed a jrpg.
I actually liked Snow in my party. He has the most health and is the best sentinel in the game. Great for when you need him to turtle through annoying bosses
Morgana is annoying because of tutorials? Huh never felt that way with Morgana, I mean sure there are tutorials in the beginning but after that not really. What I *do* find annoying however is when I want to go out and hang out with- Morgana: "Aren't you tired? Let's go to sleep for today." Okay nevermind I'll just make some lockpi- Morgana: "Aren't you ti-" NO MORGANA FOR THE LAST TIME I'M NOT TIRED, YOU'RE NOT MY MOM JUST LET ME DO WHAT I WANT!
I too felt (and still feel as I'm yet to beat the game) terrorized by Morgana P: and yet, it's one of my favourite characters in the game, the best cat character in a video game ever!!! BTW the japanese voice over actress is the one behind Pikachu's voice.
Morgana is so stupidly useful though, as a healer. My party ended up being Yusuke for ice/buffs, Makoto for radioactive and her defense buff and morgana for healing and i would fill in the majority of the elemental weaknesses. I never used Haru because she's given to you so late in the game that by that point, i've already found my party and style i like, so why would i suddenly ditch one of my party for her? I still wish we got Futaba as a full support who uses passive buffs, heals and then buffs/debuffs/misc effects like maybe increasing reward drops or inflicting statuses. Was really disappointed seeing this brilliant Eldritch UFO that would only show up randomly to give out a buff once every 10-ish fights :/
DMind Gaming I never had problems with Morgana telling me to go to sleep. Those complains never made much sense to me. Its Jokers decision to listen to him. Its not like Morgana is forcing him to anything. And If Joker wants to sleep than he should sleep. I know how a lack of sleep effects well being and work quality. And if I want to do something I just do it another day. Morgana is honestly my favorite Character both as well a Character aswell as partymember. A lot of people prefer Makotto but I found here overrated. She rocks pretty hard in the end game but fore the majorette of the game she is pretty forgettable beyond the scoop of hitting nuclear weak spots.
@@sofaris576 No, actually, when Morgana asks you if you're tired, you can't do anything but sleep. That's what's annoying. I always MAX Kawakami first (Temperance Confidant) so that I can get her message and get extra things to do.
Okay, so Snow is just on the list for petty reasons only! 'Cause that man is the best tank in FFXIII and is a way better Ravager than Fang! (Also, Snow is so nice, if not a little oblivious - if you make it known about his man-spreading, he would totally apologize and close his legs; would even start a nice conversation with you!)
They should've left his character out entirely from the budget. He contributed to nothing as a character and was dry on character development. Vincent was far better in combat even though he was so minor to the story.
jczlcheeze Every single FF7 game I've played, I told myself I would make Caith Sith one of my main party and learn to like him. And every single time, I would just give up after a short period of time. I just hate him so much!
Wow the legend of Dragoon I was starting to think I was the only person to play and love that game the combat is so much fun I wish they would remaster that game......
Amarant is kind of lame as a story character, but if you're using him as an attack character, of COURSE he's going to suck. He's a SUPPORT character. Chakra, Aura, Curse and Revive are some of the most useful support abilities in the game. Equip him with the Power Up Ability have him use Chakra on Vivi or Eiko and just watch them spam Flare and Holy at the enemy like pez candy. Have him use Aura and save characters from needing to waste power stones on expensive abilities like Auto-Regen and Auto-Revive. Run into an enemy without an elemental weakness that Vivi can exploit? Curse will fix that right up. And I don't think I need to explain why having another character that can RESURRECT a dead party member is useful. And that's not even getting into his Trance powers, where he can use his support powers on the entire party at once. In other words, Chakra gives everyone in your party pretty much infinite MP until he returns to normal, everyone gets Regen and Auto-life and all KO'd party members can be revived at the same time. How the ever-loving HELL is that useless?
EvilSandwich I have a damage build with some buffs added and I can easily put him vivi/Freya ( interchangeable do to a no white mage run) and steiner to demolish the opponents mainly from using his throw ability with the items your suppose to let him throw as well as him and Freya can basically make everyone never run out of health or mp
EvilSandwich Amarant was a key member for me when it came to Necron. Was Zidane (of course), Amarant, Quina, and Eiko with an emerald equipped (Haste with Carbuncle), all with their best stuff. Aura and Chakra were lifesavers, as well as giving Auto-Life. Also had that on Quina, but having two with it? Certainly helped
Benny Susanto on post game, spell casting speed is more important than raw stats, as Snow develop more on Ravager role, his spell just increased in speed. This is mostly because he cast spell with one hand and alternate between left and right hand when casting multiple spell in ATB queue. Lightning spell casting is just second to Snow, so Snow much more useful on staggering opponent.
Benny Susanto incidentally, Snow learned Ravager skills that Lightning doesn’t learn. Snow also doesn’t learnt any of Siphon passive from his Commando tree while Lightning doesn’t learn Adrenaline passive from Commando tree.
Amarant's actually a really good character to use. He is a support character who hits hard. He can use abilities like Chakra that can heal a lot of HP and MP, especially if you equip the 'Power Up' ability, and Aura, which casts Regen and Auto-Life on one of your characters. This means he can be both on a Mage-centric team, where he uses Chakra to restore MP and on Warrior-centric teams where he can hit hard as well as heal his teammates. As for the 'Throw' command and 'Spare Change': 1) Buy items like 'Rising Sun' and 'Wing Edge' to throw at enemies. 2) Don't use it. In my opinion, if you think using up tons of gil to use 'Spare Change' is an acceptable use of your gil, then you're mental.
Well you could use Caith Sith's "Game Over" and Selphie's "The End" to insta-kill the superbosses like Omega/Emerald/Ruby Weapon...which I totally did not do.
NI NO KUNI SPOILERS: For me, it has to be MARCASSIN from Ni No Kuni. I mean, you spend the whole game getting so used to your three main characters, leveling them, balancing their familiars and then...like...a 4th?!....why? Who the hell switched their party around to accommodate a vastly under leveled tag-along little brother?!
Basch, Ashe, Balthier and Fran were lvl 99 for me before I even crossed the gigas gate in the feywood. (Mostly because the game was bugged for me and wouldn't let me past the gate so I had to grind my boredom away. Then I lost my memory card. PS2 tragedies.)
Vaan and Penello were so pointless for the story... Ashe, Balthier, Fran, and Basche all had large, important roles to play in the story... after the first half of the story, Vaan is litterally just tagging along for no reason, and Penello is just there to be with Vaan. If you notice starting at the second half, at the start of every cutscene where something important happens, Ashe, Balthier and Basche (and sometimes Fran) will get together and have a serious conversation while Vaan and Penello are off doing something in the background. The conversation at the beach comes to mind where they loudly shout that they're running off to go play in the water. They ruined the game for me -_-
If Balthier was Jack Sparrow, Ashe was Elizabeth, Vaan was the pirate crew I used Vaan tho, I kept thinking he was the main character who will save the day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Morgana is unfortunately necessary in the early game since he has healing and resurrection before you can get higher level personas on a second playthrough.
IKR?!?!?!?? still my favorite RPG, using usually Dart, Lavitz, Rose, and if I needed a more capable healer, Meru would usually replace one based on the boss or situation or if I needed a more stable physical attack setting, I would replace Lavitz for Kongol or Hashel (latter mostly because he had no element weakness and his Dragoon MP skills were the most balanced damage wise)
i always use meru (high speed awesome final addition and one of only 2 useful dragoons late game) my other character varies but usually its haschel because of the huge damage ouput he and meru have (correct me if im wrong but i think that when accounting for speed they have the highest damage output in game)
How could you Rob!?!?!? Snow had a permanent space in my ever since I met him. He's always put in work as a sentinel or ravager and I absolutely love his role in the story. His fiancee was turned to crystal and everyone dislikes him (Hope even wants to kills him) yet he still tries his hardest and keeps on moving. His theme is also the best in the entire game and just screams awesome. If you're going to bench someone in FFXIII it has to be Hope or Sazh
True, Fang always did insane damage for me. My end team at Orphan was Lightning, Snow and Fang. They had all the damage and both sentinels to take big hits. Also, Fang and Lightning's full atb abilities (Highwind and Army of One) were just so visually impressive.
Lascell Taylor Very nice! I my first playthrough was lightning Hope and Vanille so i had very good rav damage for staggering but we couldn't take any hits
As a ff7 fans i also did not used cait sith that much but considering all the exploit that been discovered all this years he/it is the strongest characters in the game to the point he/it is ban to speed runners
Mine was Haru from Persona 5. It's not that she is a bad character, it's just that by that time in the game I already made my Joker a Psychic main since no one in the party had that ability. I already had the strongest Psychic powers and then came Haru with just Psio, yeah no thanks
That's because on speedruns you are not trying to save resources and explore all the game has to offer, is mostly underleveled and his habilities do not suffer that much by it. If you are not speedrunning any other characters outscales Amarant in a way.
I agree with you for most of these but...I like Snow. Smacking things with my fists when everyone else is (mostly) decked out with weapons is just cool
I wish I could exclude Hope earlier in FF 13. But hes the only character that gets both Haste and Protect very early making him so invaluable it would take two characters to replace him. I swear he gets knocked down so often in the first game I'm amazed he didnt show up pregnant in the second one omg
to be fair I dislike lightning personality. alright here the leader of the group what she gonna say to them all "leave me alone you all will just slow me down" truly a unifier if I ever see one. meanwhile snow was the only one optimistic out of the group.
FF7 never used Cait Sith, Yuffie, or Vincent. Out of fear that at some point a game will separate my main party and make me use the side characters, everyone is always within a few levels of each other. But I begrudgingly do so.
No I'm very much the same. I spent ages maxing out all the characters in Legend of Dragoon and finding their ultimate equipment. Same with FF VIII. I feel bad leaving out people from the party.
Thing is, it's almost like the game wants you to drop Mona in favor of Queen which I ended up doing. By the time Oracle joins up Mona starts feeling useless which guilted me into using him again just in time for miracle punch, diarahan, samarecarm, and magarudyne making him my go to healer.
You monster 😩 Shana is useful, I promise! She’s just not a great choice at the very beginning game. Peep her STATS, she has the highest speed and often attacks twice (until you meet Meru who is an overbroken OP monster in final STATs) not to mention the highest Magical Defense which becomes very useful in the later phase of the game where many bosses become increasingly less physical damage based and start flinging end game magic spell at you, Shana (and Meru) are magical survivors, able to weather massive magical damage for sure. Now Miranda, due to her personality, I can totally understand benching. Meru outclasses her Statistical strengths by then anyway. Another note, her weapons tend to be status-inducing, pair that with the double attack well, and you’ll learn Shanas strength in battles for sure.
On mulltiple playthroughs he prived to be, Joker aside, my best ore second best partymember only rivaled by Ann. Used right he turns the fight against the twins in to a cakewalk.
FFXII is my favorite too! It's highly rated but was pretty much lost in time because there weren't many bad things to talk about it. (I think. Which is for the best anyway.)
I actually never have a "main" team in party based RPGs. I would much prefer rotating my characters around as equally as possible. When I play RPGs, I see them almost like an episodic TV show series. So I try my best to make sure all the "cast members" have as equal amount of "screen time" as possible. I typically select my party members based on story-purposes (e.g. what characters make the most sense based on the location we're about to go into or the story elements I predict will be involved). It keeps things "fresh" for me since I get to play with different characters in different combinations throughout the playthrough instead of the exact same party over and over. This is part of why I didn't particularly care for Final Fantasy 15 - we had the exact same party members (with the occasional guest character, but that doesn't count). I totally understand why many people prefer to stick with a main team, but my mileage certainly varies.
In FFX-2 it's a matter of class choices not character choices. My #1? THEIF! I would often have the entire team switch to thief just to pickpocket a boss monster. My least faves? the other starting classes. All of them. They're not BAD, just weaker than the later classes you get. So I mastered them ASAP(for the passive stat boosts) then stopped using them.
Well in sukioden 3 it actually pays to level up a lot of characters and equip them well as you use them in the battles. You can absolutely wipe the floor with the enemy once you can build your squads.
Honestly I never found him annoying all that much. I am at my 3rd playthrough (Second time on hard both times without new game plus boni) to play without right now at the beginning of Madarame but I actually found it pretty cool how he teaches the Phantom Thieves while they venture through that castle. He is actually my favorite Character in the game only rivaled by the twins. I really love this guy. He is my favorite companion in gaming thus fare. Looking at just the combat he is easaly the 3rd most useful partymember next to Joker and Ann. Joker is ofcours better because Wild Card and Ann rocks with here status aliments and attack debuffs. Non Boss Enemys that have no element weakness are weak to status effects which leads to technical damage. And in the end game she becomes a magic power house. Now Morgana is a great healer. We get Makoto but she is always behind Morgana in terms of healing skills. Even once she learned to buff the defense of entire party, AKA when she become useful beyond hitting nucleare weak spots, I still prefer Morganas superior healing. His lack of defense never really bothered me that much. But I also like to have both Morgana and Makoto fore the sake of turtling my way through a Boss fight with 2 healers. Morganas Lucky Punch/ Miracle punch I found amazing. Its essentially a low risk high return gamble. More button passes and more hold ups. What do you want more? Now at the end of the game Morgana falls a bit behind. Once Makoto learns to completely heal the group she is better in boss fights no matter how you look at it. However it does not happen in my last playthrough until after I beat the man with the black mask. And even than Morgana remains awesome in normal fights and while not optimal he is still not a bad choice in a boss fight. Its funny how his infiltration tools shine in the one fight where he is undeniable a bad choice fore the front line. You can only fight Caroline and Justine before Morgana gets his second awakening and that means no avoid electricity. But the Limelight Infiltration tool makes this fight so much easier. It was because of that I was able to beat them on hard mode.
Ann does more magic damage and gets healing spells makoto is well balanced and gets healing spells ur character can get healing spells and yusuke has the best physical damage in the party.....btw ann makoto and yusuke r statistically tje best team mates
edmg7 the survivability in boss fights and damage output is the best now jack of all trades makokto is arguable at base stats but the variety is the good part since she can be whatever u need and tho she gets few physical skills yusuke more than makes up tor it plus if u get a special accessory plus her ultimate gun she gets +20 to all stats
I refuse to use Yuffie (from FF7) after getting screwed when she stole all my matiria and then having to do a long boring side quest to get it back she was benched for the rest of the game and all later playthroughs.
Yuffie is one of those characters I level grind for her Limit Breaks and side story then forgot about for the rest of the game. Her and Red XIII to be fair.
Whoa, back up. Morgana is leaps and bounds better than Teddy from persona 4. Famous for vomiting endless bear puns that weren't funny once translated to English.
I liked teddy at the beggining he seemed innocent and cute enough, but boy when he tried to be funny did he fail. I also disliked when he suddenly became a pretty boy, it just felt weird :S
Feliciano Vargas each to their own I guess 😊 I found him useful with the party setup I had but I'll admit he would be swapped out more often than the others.
1- I agree, he sucked. 2- Sad to say I never played it. Is there a digital copy on the PS4 store? Will happily play through it. 3- Never played that either. Love RPG's but never got into that one. 4- You're tripping HARD on this one Rob! Used Morgana in every fight I could! Morgana was unsurpassed when it came to healing and wind magic! 5- I definitely used Snow as well. He was my favorite of the whole cast but suffice to say, he was no Lightning. Used him every chance I could though. 6- Never played it. 7- Played it very briefly. Game's battle system turned me off quickly. Excellent video Rob! Enjoyed it and looking forward to the next Friday Feature!
And Basch and Fran and Ashe and Penelo and Gabranth and Drace and Zagabrath and Bergan and.... .... and Larsa and Nono and Girdy and... Pretty much everyone in FFXII is better then Vaan.
I laughed 😂 my friend said that Vaan is the stupidest main character in FF universe and I just can’t seem to disagree. She thinks he’s cute tho (and we’re both agree that the bro is hotter)
Yuna and Auron were much better than Tidus in FFX. Even though Yuna's voice actress sometimes sounded as if she had asthma and needed an inhaler. Way better characters.
Rob i hope you know that theres a good percent of people who are subscribed to play station access only to watch your friday features , your stuff is golden man it always makes me laugh nothing better then to kick back relax & watch a friday feature
When I choose party members, here's my priority order: 1) Which class/archetypes do I need. 2) Is there a hot female character who can fill that archetype? 3) Is there a cool-looking character (preferably female) who can fill that archetype and isn't annoying? In the case of FF13, Fang is a hot tank, Vanille is a hot healer/debuffer and Lightning is a cool female damager, so it worked out. I found Snow, Sazh and Hope to all be pretty annoying in different ways. So choosing the 3 females was a no-brainer and also happened to give one of the most balanced parties. The thing I hated was that a very large part of the game forces you to use characters you don't really want to play.
Loremipsumdolorsit Amet no is not?? I never used snow except the times he really was forced onto me. And i never really had trouble beating enemies. Its not evem about the defence sentinel provides XD Literaly having the 3 girls in my party. Using Sentinel at the right time halves the damage already. Switch to triple medic and that damage is gone in no time. Debuff, buff, stagger and kill~ I never had real trouble battling enemies without snow. :P
I love playing with Aerith! Strong magic attacks and the most convenient, ironic limit break of all. Plus she's one of my favorites character-wise. It's Cloud, Red XIII, and Aerith all the way. Well...part of the way. But you know who I don't like in my party? Beat from Eternal Sonata. Partly because it weirds me out that a bunch of adults and teenagers are like, "Hey, tiny kid! Fight for me while I sit back and cheer you on!"
