If you can and want to work with me to work something out, maybe on one of your videos ( I know that might be a lot to ask for) but it would truly mean the world to me brother
They really are. There was a video a couple days earlier that made it look impossibly small by moving ALL the other seats ALL the way back. They disable the comments on that video, no surprise. Big fan Dave!
When you sit on the 2nd row seat, you were looking at the front seat right in front of you as if you are getting a time out from your parent :-) I wouldn’t sit in the 2nd row more than 10 minutes. And 3rd row seat? Head hitting the window? I know the Hylander has a really small 3rd row seat, but at least you don’t hit the tailgate with your head.
This is a great video. Seeing how excited your son was to get in the back makes me realize that so many of us are thinking about this area all wrong. For children this 3rd row is like having a pillow fort. It is their own world. It will also serve for small adults (my mother in law is 5'2") for short hauls. Clearly it is more functional than we thought. Beautiful family!
So nice that you included your family and friends in the video. Warm feeling... and educational! This might be the video that sells my wife on the Model Y. We shall see. Thank you!!
@@TwoBitDaVinci its the best part. You spend most of the video on rear storage and seating which I have such a hard time finding on any car. We all know about the car otherwise I am glad you were able to give so much detail and repeated attention to all the ways you can use the space.
@@Finn-wm2no Yes, but if you regularly wear blue jeans on it then forget it, they turn blue and that doesnt come off as easy. Unless maybe they've fixed this problem on newer iterations
@@TwoBitDaVinci lol my wife and i were watching and literally commented on how it must feel for you in airline seats cuz we are shorter and its a pain for us.
Also!!!!... Best model Y 7 seat review this far! Great job. You not only showed us seat config. U also showed us different sized adults, car seats and stroller fit. This should be the official standard model Y 7 seat info video.
Might want to add "seven seater" and "3rd row" to your title, it's absolutely astounding that this video hasn't exploded. Great stuff, and so gosh darned wholesome!
Finally a video about the third row of the Model Y from a person who is not a total douchbag trying to fit a 1.9m person in the third row and complaining that it does not fit.
Remy has to be the happiest little kid I have ever seen! So great! And you beat Ben Sullins to be the first to post a video with the Model Y 3rd row seating too! I think we may have a RU-vidr war on our hands! Haha!
The video everybody has waiting for! I wouldn't put anyone in the back whose head contacts the glass instead of the headrest, but it is an impressive amount of room, nonetheless.
By far, the best 7 seat review. Exactly what people need to know. Congrats and thank for sharing! By the way, not as bad as I tought, perfect for short trips with whole family and grandparents in just one car.
Best video I’ve seen so far of the 3 row model Y! Awesome video guys!! I would definitely get the 3rd row. You don’t hardly lose anything but you gain so much especially when that situation presents itself and you need to fit extra people. I love it especially with the white interior. Beautiful! Thanks so much!!
This is an amazing video! My wife really insisted on the 3rd row, look like it's going to be just perfect. Arrives Jan 25 - Feb 22 apparently, can't wait!! Thanks so much for sharing this!
Wow, finally a practical and informative video about potential real world usage of the third row. Obviously this 7 seater was designed primarily for use by children and and small adults and you demonstrated how that might work that very well, thank you. As a short adult male at 5 foot 5 inches this looks like it would work fine for me or my wife - though with 7 people in the car it might get claustrophobic for anything but short trips. Again, thank you for the straight forward no BS video and I wish the best for you and your family.
Excellent breakdown of all of the features and cost/benefit analysis! I don’t see why someone wouldn’t get the 7 seater because you almost lose nothing when they’re fully down.
Great job. Finally someone who knows how to handle a camera, edit and go through all the use cases. It looks like they maximized the space. Great job Tesla. Definitely hits a demographic of families with young kids and once in a while our adults under 5’5” in the third row. Which there are a lot of.
I really appreciate your DIY Home Charging video. I was able to purchase EVERYTHING you said and have it ready for the electrician to use. Instead of $1k for a Nema 14-50 install I only spent $92 for parts and about $300 for the electrician (he did other work around the house for the $300). THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was so afraid I couldn’t get the plug installed for a reasonable price in LA. You are my Tesla Hero 🦸🏽♂️
wow that is so cool, and you are so smart! even if you aren't going to do the work, breaking it up like that is super smart! you made my day, thank you!
Did the same at my condo with an electrician just realizing all i needed was a washer dryer plug and paid the same as yourself. I dont know why people go through such expense for a whole level 2 station when all you need is the plug and level 2 cord.
I tried the 3rd row at the Tesla store 3 days ago. I'm only 5'7.5", but my head hit the glass and I had to scrunch my neck/back down. I had plenty of leg room though, which is different from the video. I believe this is because of body type (a) I have a long torso short legs, this guy has the opposite, (b) I have a large derrière making me sit up higher. That said, I ended up ordering a 3-row, and I only plan on using it for my 3-year old, and maybe in a few years my newborn when he's older (grandparents will sit in back row with newborn, and we only have 1 car between all 6 of us).
Ah finally the right hands-on. Kid and adult on the third row right at the start. Chair folding included . Thank you! Spot on. There are far too many clips around that just don't do the title of their clip any justice.
Are you going to trade in your M3? I want to order a MY 7 seater, but I've heard the new administration will renew the tax credit. Not sure if Tesla will be included.
Best video of the MT 7 seater to date. Thanks for sharing. I shared your video on FB TSLA stock discussion page. I want to order one, but I've heard the new administration will renew the tax credit incentive. Hopefully Tesla will be included. I am holding off for a few more weeks.
@@TwoBitDaVinci let’s see it! I think I’m happy with my current Model Y. Third row is nice but I think I need the cargo room more even with my three kiddos.
Yah I hear you we go back and forth. Your confit would be better for us 95% of the time... then there’s that occasional time you need that extra seating. It’s awesome that we have such great choices though! What color is your Y?
Two Bit da Vinci we went white with the upgraded wheels + white interior along with the 3rd row. Standard range. We’re pretty close to everything and commute locally. + when we do road trip we wouldn’t mind stopping more often.
Hi Two bit davinci, I was really concerned before your video that the 3rd row would be essentially unusable. And I have a similar family as you and for 3k more this may make sense vs additional 50k for the family x vehicle.
Totally Convince on the third row seat thank you very much for excellent presentation I was concerned with no leg room. now I will be ordering my model Y with additional seats. Thank you and congratulations on a beautiful family
Put the car seat on the passenger side of the 3rd row. Then you don't have the foot space issue for an adult in the 3rd row, the adult is on the driver side.
I have the exact same Diono car seat for my 5 year old. Would you feel safe putting your child in the 3rd row full time? I don't think there are side curtain airbags. Do you think a kid in a car seat can see out the window at all? I want to think this can work comfortably for my family of 5 instead of buying a gas guzzling Telluride.
Great questions Ed. For us this would be only on occasion. As for a full time third row kids seat, my advice is rent one on turo for 3 days and really get a feel for if this will work for you!
this is by far the best model y 7 seat video! Love how you show the configuration with people sitting on all levels. No one really does that. And showing the car seat in the 3rd show is great. I just wished you would have shown the double stroller in the trunk if it would have fit or not. But otherwise, great video! Thank you!
So, is Juan in your bubble? Just concerned about COVID protections. I would honestly suggest that as a good example, you should be masked when you are out and about. Like how public figures are changing profile pictures to masked pictures. I love your channel, I just hope you will consider these things. Thanks
Thanks so much for the video. Very informative. You have a wonderful family!!! I'm not so sure these are ready to replace the minivans yet...but...if I can scrounge up an extra $80k or so, who knows. ! LOL
Road in the back of one 170miles it wasn’t that bad. It can be done I’m 5 10” 250lb. You wouldn’t want to go across country but small trips is dueable. It’s great for small children
Thank you so much for very informative and valuable videos. I watch your almost all videos for solar panel and it was great great help to make informed decisions for my 10 k solar project specially choosing panels and little details.
Great video! I was always wondering how the room in the back would be for the 3rd row. Of course it's not for everyone or even long trips, but it is as functional if not more than I have seen in an Acadia or a Traverse that we had in the past. The leg room is I think a bit more and I believe that might be pulled off by the seats being elevated.
i am pretty sure that even your editor who is 5.2 will be annoyed in a long drive lets say 3 hour drive in a 3rd row seat. His legs will pain as well coz he can't move them like he could in 2nd row. It's a cool thing to have a 3rd row though in case if you do need to fit more people and 3k is not much..
Great Video - we have 2 small dogs, 1 large Great Dane and we are trying for our first child. I initially thought this car was going to be far too small but with all the compartments and adjustability the 2nd row gets with this option I am heavily reconsidering. Lol luckily i am only 5’5” so i think i should have it even easier.
thanks for getting in the back.. great to understand the dimensions. I can imagine a family trip with my younger sons on a booster fitting in the back. but when they hit teens, they will be too tall with that glass angle. And no windows in the back makes it a bit dark on the longer trips.. might get travel sick with all that torque!
Tesla should have released a 3rd row when it launched last year. 2021 should have been about range increase but by making this a big deal, they won't release anything else with the Y this year. Nice video though, the kid laugh needs to be a ring tone lol
Seeing the headrests poke out beyond the threshold of the trunk lid pretty much sums it up. Its a nice to have for kids but not adults. Headroom was an afterthought on this thing and seeing the feet shows that was an afterthought as well.
Great video! It's not as good as a Mini Van or larger SUV, but if you only use the 3rd row occasionally it works great. There is really not much loss of storage space. Seeing it with you and your family gives a much better sense of the size. 😀
Wow, the very first video I’ve seen on the Model Y 3rd row seats! Not sure if anyone else will give a more detailed look at them going forward, so congratulations! So many months of speculation and just like that Tesla delivers! Looks like enough room fir someone short like me(but I would be claustrophobic back there for a trip longer than down the street) , but more than enough room and perfect for small children even for a long trip!
I am confused between getting an Highlander and this 7 seater Tesla. Which one you think will be better? The Tesla seems to compact on the third row right? Other than that I loved it
Thanks. I’m a technician and I work in the seat department. Grate review. As a company we always want to see how our cars perform in the field. This Information Age gives us direct feed back that we need. We try to always see where we can improve. Thanks from Telsa.
