I would just like to mention that having disorders don't justify being a ruthless killer. Many people have disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder and don't kill people. These people were just sick and twisted, and there's no justifying it. 🤷🤷🤷
Seriously I deal with several psychological disorders bipolar type 2. Adhd and tourettes. I've never once hurt or killed anyone during any manic episode. I've also have suffered multiple concussions over the years. I've never once purposely hurt anyone or thought about murder. It really bothers me when I see people say " well they deal with mental illness... so" or " they have cte so it's not surprising this happened". I'm not saying that for some people it doesn't play a factor, but dealing with mental illness does not pre dispose you to violent tendencies.
But big part of his personality disorders is his deviant paraphiliac disorders, and there are few of them, among which are necrophilia, cannibalism which are both sexual in nature in his case. Paraphiliacs are addicted to this rush when they get to satisfy their urges or even by thinking about it. Many people have fetishes, that are probably out of normal set of sexual preferences but rarely or never act on them. Paraphiliacs, especially those with sexual deviant behaviors are always driven by this desire so that appear as psychopaths on the outside. Empathy leaves the door completely. It's selective and suppressed for the extreme desires and extreme conditions needed to satisfy them. So many of them aren't technically psychopaths, may have sociopathic, antisocial traits, but for the most part their lack of empathy isn't due to complete inability to empathize with others - it is that this empathy or emotional warmth if there is any leaves completely when paraphilic urges kick in - people who are target of their urges no longer are receivers of empathy, they are like objects for these people. For psychopaths, people are always objects, and all emotions that are deemed normal are faked in all cases to resemble normal human functioning (to gain advantages of being pro-social). For paraphiliacs, though, objectification is just a means to an end and it's selective.
I am so very glad the judge allowed BTK to keep talking in the courtroom and giving his run-on speech! The use these people provide for us is to be able to study them as how much as humanly possible! To exegete from them every single bit of info, speech patterns, how their mind works, etc.
I just want to believe that the father's forgiveness is a poison to Gary. (Probably is as he is an evil mofo). So while hopefully that POS will be out of the Dad's thoughts and life. With pain that deep , sometimes forgiveness is the only way you can heal. He is a much stronger person than I would be. W Love
@@BIG_Gordo yeah many of them would hesitate to kill in prison, most of the time a "serial killer" has a very specific MO. They kill someone under a specific context for a specific gratification, often sexual. That does not mean they are going to be some hardcore violent inmate. Often times these people are truly cowards and get victimized/murdered in prison. They don't try killing if the conditions aren't specific to fulfill the exact gratification/fantasy they are looking for, especially if it's a large, strong man they are up against who will defend himself. As well as the fact that there are complex social politics in prison that come into play. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if one ended up being extorted or abused in some other way while incarcerated, it happens already.
For the golden state killer, giving him the death penalty would only give a large financial burden for somome who will likely die before its carried out. Life makes the most sense in his case.
You're absolutely right. The death penalty is a farce when the vast majority of murderers on death row, die of natural causes before their execution date ever comes up. I never forgot an article I read once. It stated that over a period of 18 years between 1976 and 1994, there were 350 thousand homicides committed in the U.S. Out of those 350 thousand murderers, 253 were executed.
This quote of Bundy's from WIkipedia is the creepiest thing I have ever read, and eerily similar to what Demented Dennis say here about "knowing his victims". "Bundy also confided in Special Agent William Hagmaier of the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit. Hagmaier was struck by the "deep, almost mystical satisfaction" that Bundy took in murder. "He said that after a while, murder is not just a crime of lust or violence", Hagmaier related. "It becomes possession. They are part of you ... [the victim] becomes a part of you, and you [two] are forever one ... and the grounds where you kill them or leave them become sacred to you, and you will always be drawn back to them." Bundy told Hagmaier that he considered himself to be an "amateur", an "impulsive" killer in his early years, before moving into what he termed his "prime" or "predator" phase at about the time of Healy's murder in 1974. This implied that he began killing well before 1974-although he never explicitly admitted having done so.".
All sex is rape. If you [have sex with others], do you generate thoughts if willingness in those you [have sex with]? Before, during and after? Does that mean the rape will willing?
@@DannoAviation sex is a marketable term. Do you think what is marketed as sex is not rape? Act that way too? Have you had sex with someone? Did you check if they had the central nervous system required to decide? Its not required to appear to decide.
I think a life sentence is worse then death. Like if you get death, you're killed, and its over. A life sentence you essentially are locked in four walls with no purpose or goals. The rest of your life in hell on earth. You're essentially a ghost.
Yeah...but its still Life. "The dead know only one thing, it is better to be alive" - Short Timers, the Book Full Metal Jacket was based on and is said by Joker in the film.
They get fresh food, smoke, tv, sex, you name it. So no a life in prison for those people is not alright. Those people don’t appreciate life in the first place they don’t mind sitting in a cell
Kansas currently has the death penalty, unfortunately it was reinstated in 1993 or 1994 (I think), which was after the BTK killings. So, he wasn’t eligible.
Unfortunately in what sense? BTK is nearly 80. He would have died in prison before the execution anyway, so there's really no difference. This way the Americans save a lot of money.
I'm going to be honest here I do not like the thumbnails because they are deceptive which implies fiction which men are generally not interested in. I hope my comment helps.
She did, but it was with their help. She surely didn’t have a dna lab and the authority to search and arrest and such. I agree, it’s not just important to give her the credit, but it’s also a very interesting bit of information in that, not to mention an honorable thing to do since her passing. Missed opportunity. But not everyone knows everything. Even someone researching that killer could easily find themselves in a world of information she brought forth and still have no idea it was her.
Jeffery Dhamer, might of had a sincere apology, but he was still very much insane so his actions would still be the same since he hasn't received any help
I never understood why people get prison sentences for pleading guilty to crimes that would have been punishable by death if they were found guilty despite pleading innocent. Even if the crime is so heinous that it's punishable by death, you'd better be damn certain that the defendant is guilty, because if you find out otherwise later on, it's too late to pardon a corpse. Pleading guilty is the most reliable way to remove all shadow of doubt, so why are they being rewarded for it?
because an innocent person faced with a possible death sentence may choose a lesser conviction and jail time than risk face death., especially if the cant afford a good lawyer
@@scottmartin9041I'm not opposed to the swift enactment of the death penalty knowing that there may be the possibility of an innocent being taken. It's a rare occurrence that shouldn't prevent justice from taking place and at the very least for those who have admitted to commiting the crime and have their DNA attached to it. They're is no valid reason for these particular cases to draw out over years or even decades. The death penalty should be swift for these.
@@reisekeller6859exactly... you made a very good point... Innocent until proven guilty is not always the case... coz if you truly committed the crime, you're in guilt either way
The death penalty isn't dealt out instantly most people spend years waiting an old man is more likely to die in prison than on death row or more accurately die waiting on death row in prison hes in prison for life he died in prison makes no difference he's dead regardless
What they miss in his statement (their statements). They are everything, everyday, everyone, just like you. The difference is they lack the internal strength to not act on their baser instincts.
Golden State Killer caused more trauma, loss and terror than any of the others. His protracted rapes were like horror films. I'm sure hundreds of women were never the same ever.
point of order: the word 'psychopath' is not a term of mental health, it's a criminology term. It has no formal definition anywhere, and it's usage is so broad that it almost has no definition, rendering the term useless.
Sometimes a life sentence only amounts to 10 or 20 years. If you stack em up it ends up being more than 100. Bad guy will never get out and it's basically Life Without Parole.
The serial killer Ridgway, and the reasons for his evil deeds, as stated in this video, are more than likely to be the same as Victorian London's Jack the Ripper. A hatred for prostitutes, power and control that shockingly gave him a High, and a list for killing. Also, the power to create fear and shock cities and the general population gives him more power and notoriety. A sick game of cat and mouse. Similarly, Ridgeway and The Ripper, chose prostitutes, not just because of hatred, but it could be said they, were more vulnerable, inclined to go with complete strangers usually at night when it was less likely to be seen and he could hide in the shadows. I suppose the same traits and motives, could be linked to a lot of serial killers, who hate sex workers. However, I still find it hard to believe people can be so evil and destroy so many lives, including victim's families.
I so hate that one. The fact he targeted vulnerable kids/woman makes me sick. He purposely went after runaways who had a bad home life to begin with. Hope he rots in jail and afterwards.
Why? Forgiveness is for the forgiver, not the forgiven. It releases the forgiver from a life of darkness and despair. If the forgiver chose not to forgive, they wouldn't be a forgiver but rather another victim.
Even, in the world of meat eating predators, also including those that swims the sea, Orca whales etc., Zoologists have had documented observations, where such predators killed not for foods, but actually appeared to have enjoyed the killing process of their preys or victims. Thus, it is definitely also the same with the higher form of living creatures, eg. homo sapiens species to manifest such enjoyment in the killing process, likewise. Fortunately, only a very limited number of homo sapiens possessed such desires to kill their preys and victims for pleasure and enjoyment. Additionally, luckily, homo sapiens would kill for needed foods and also for religious ceremonies .. using domesticated animals, specially breed and reared for such purposes.
@@-Witty you know why ?. ..becos, Homo Sapiens ..unlike all other living creatures, that do prey and kill for foods and also for pleasure, the Homo Sapiens specie, is capable of total annihilation and complete destruction of all living things, plants and animals ... of the entire Planet Earth.
Each crime has a separate sentence, and if one conviction by some chance happens to be appealed, there's still multiple others that they still have to be fought
Usually its only doctors sharing medical details that is illegal. Look up any criminals name and you'll get their entire criminal history and where they're currently incarcerated.
It's also a safety issue. If they are making a shiv or attacking someone, and are charged while in prison the video footage can be used as proof. Or if someone is found unconscious it's important to know what happened, like if they tried to kill themselves or if they were attacked in their cell.
And that's why I will never give my DNA. I might offer it for one purpose but it can be used for other thing without your permission or knowledge, and cerrtainly not for the purpose it ws offered originally.
the first one was just wanting to get out off prison all the time he would talk, about al his victums and saying how wonderfull they were but whyd he kill them then
I just don't get why the punishment is always something that is absolutely not scary to worry about, wat would happen if criminals would be confronted wit actual scary torment and suffering bevor dying,, 🤷
I'm not sure if life imprisonment is punishment for some of these guys...seems like they get to exist without having to work or contribute in any way, shape, or form in my opinion, but that's just me.
