When she was sleeping and Milo touch her he was just trying to see if she's still breathing cuz she is usually flinging her arms and legs around making noise hilarious and precious!
(5:08) Also cats do this with any of their family members (human or animal) to feel their company and sense heart rate. Often if you're sitting your cat will subtly be touching you. That way if you have a rise in your heart rate/breathing (something bad happening) they will know straight away.
@@ejanocrowsnatcher6785 Yep, my cats if they are sitting/sleeping near me, they are usually touching me with at least a paw tip, if not fully in the lap :') it's so sweet I love it
That’s what I was thinking. Animals often perform “checks” in different forms. Especially if the baby isn’t breathing heavily. I would go so far as to say the Milo probably knew she was sleeping but either noticed a disturbance in her breathing pattern or felt her breath was getting faint. Cats are very inquisitive and intuitive creatures.
2 tiny points: When a cat washes a baby, it's acceptance of the baby as a genuine kitty... There is one further stage: cat standing guard over the baby, protecting against strange people or dogs..
The difference between cats and dogs is that cats think they are gods and human are servants, while dogs think humans are the gods and worship them loyalty and love...
I love how they didn't let Milo feel left out. They're a family and they were patient and kind to Milo. This would be a great teaching video for new families!
The cats are wanting to see if it is something to eat, or something to torment to death. And to see if it will fight back. It'll be fun watching how it progresses. 😄
That is a very good argument for having pets in childhood. I was raised with a cat from the time I was newborn. I have no allergies, no asthma. Same with my son, who is now 37. We both have very healthy immune systems.
@@erynlasgalen1949 I dont think that's true at all. I'm 27 my family has always had 4 cats from the day I was born. I am allergic to cats and have asthma, still love and live with cats though. Allergies and asthma have nothing to due with built up resistance.
Me and my cat met when I was 2, she immediately adopted me as her own. The moment we met she flopped down next to me and fell asleep claiming me as her human, we were an inseparable bond ever since. We loved each other as family for the 16 years she we knew each other from then on and I will never be able to form a bond as strong as me and her did with another being even if I tried, it was an understanding that transcended language, species, and everything people think they know about having a cat in the family
I had the same bond with my first cat. We got her as a kitten when I was a baby. My mom said she’d curl up on my tummy in my crib with me as a kitten. Slept with me almost every night for her whole life, and was a grouchy girl but had endless patience for me. I miss her very much still 10 years after her passing.
Got my 1 year old son a kitten for his first birthday. They were bonded brothers till the age of 20. We will never forget our baby he helped me raise my son by helping him wake up in the morning for school, keeping him company when I worked, always the most loving cat I ever had. He was also a mainecoon. We miss him dearly, this June will be one year since he passed.
@@mysticshawty1234 You're right. My mind was wandering when I wrote my silly comment. My own giant cat sleeps on his back, also. Fur is so thick. These two are so adorable. Thanks for correcting me. 😏🙂
We have so many photos of our eldest with our cat. Never once did he scratch the children even if they tickled his tummy, which he hated. He'd just get up and walk off if he'd had enough.
Yes. My cats even tolerate when children rides them or a bit rough when playing. Tho I guided the children play softer, it always amaze me how calm and gentle cats are with children! 😍
What a enchanting family; how lucky this child is to have great parents and wonderful furry friends. Another benefit is that her immune system will be vastly stronger than babies raised in sterile environments. One day, your daughter will watch these videos and never question the love she was raised within. Love grows were pets go...
@@ghostspore3163 Sorry to hear about you medical condition. Dogs did not cause that. If you were raised with dogs, then you know how loyal and loving they are. Only dogs that have been abused are dangerous and will protect themselves, just as any human would. I suggest you see a doctor for your immune problem...
@@msprettygirl984 I did not say he hates them, only that dogs are not the cause of his medical problems. He intimated by conflation that dogs somehow caused his medical issue. He also seemed a bit indifferent to dogs, so, I noted that dogs, like people, are a product of their environment. I know from experience, that anyone that had a dog that they loved, they would not see it from the perspective that he did, they would always include, one way or another, that dogs are a man's best friend. His opening statement was, "I was raised with dogs and I'm allergic,..." Maybe he just worded it poorly?...
@@markmaloney8154 You gotta learn to relax friendo, I know dogs are great and I still have two that I love more than life even tho they make me sneeze and itch. My pet allergies arent life threatening like others. It was more of a joke, at least the other guy seemed to get it. Kinda weird to start preaching about abuse and dangerous animals when the conversation didn't call for it
He wasn’t using his claws...so gentle and loving. This relationship between a beautiful Mainecoon, malamutes and their baby girl is unbreakable. She’ll love furry siblings the rest of her life. People do the world a disservice when they don’t try to work this thru with their first babies...the furry ones, and their human baby.
Nah cat tongues are very rough and they tend to lick for a long time which can hurt the babies skin😥 ive seen to many videos were the parents just keep letting the cat lick the baby😬😬😬
The only time I have seen a cat not be loving toward and protective of a newborn baby brought into a home was when the parents gave all of their attention to the baby and just ignored the cat. Cats understand the reason for their sudden neglect, just like an older human sibling would. Love them and they will love you, as well as the new arrival.
"This thing makes weird noises, uncontrollably kicks and swings limbs without any consideration, passes out without warning, and has stolen the Throne of Cutness from that which is I. Oh well....... I guess I'll pass out with 'em." 😾
When a cat decides to love a little human they will do everything they can to help, protect and care for their baby. While I was watching I started to wonder who's name Mia would says first??
haha my first word was the name of one of our dogs, and my first sentence was "[name of our dog] is sleeping!" so good chance of the pets influencing this baby as well. although it might be hard to tell whether a baby is saying mama or milo in this case :D
My dad bought me a cat when I 5 days old. Mom aren't you jumping the gun. No they will grow up together. Mom yes they will. Sammy lived to 13 years it was so awful for me I lost my best friend. When I had my boys we had cats. Those cats were so gentle. Whe` the boys cried. They run to me like hey their broken. Now fix them.
My cat found my family when I was 5, she was about 3 months old and lived till 19. We both were girls with issues (I could play rough so she played back) but in the end, I was her main favourite human. Best friends indeed. We're so lucky to have experienced that. :)
Stage 1: Wat dis? It scary! Stage 2: Dis new thing have some nice soft things. Stage 3: Dis new thing okay. Stage 4: Dis new thing need bath. I help. Stage 5: New thing nice. Stage 6: Want new thing! Stage 7: LOVE new thing! New thing mine!
This reminds me of what my parents told me when they introduced me as a baby to our poodle, Chelsea. Chelsea couldn't figure out what I was at first, though we eventually became very close when I got older.
My Siamese did that with my all three of my kids! He would watch them while they slept, and if they were napping on our bed he would lay at their feet.
No. When a belly of an animal is up that is the most vulnerable they can be. He is showing his trust, comfort and loves as you can see with how he likes to keep his paw or tail on her. Also a sign of protection. This cat would defend this baby if it came down to it.
Cats are usually very wise.. They know, by instinct, how to be careful and loving with a baby or a toddler 😉 Beautiful baby and cat.. Blessings of happiness to your family 🙂
Awww he's mirroring in the end! That's something cats do to spend time with us, they mirror what we do. That's why they like to sit on laptops when we work on them, and he's mirroring the way she sleeps. That's so precious!
Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, Siberian Forest Cat - "natural breeds" not created by man, big, calm, loyal, social with humans, will trek outdoors with owners. There are quite often cats of these breeds available online at shelters, not purebred but with lots of the good stuff still inside. My NFC was a stray, she looks and acts similarly to Milo. I'm helpless against her.
@@mariebernier3076 Maine Coons are fantastic and beautiful cats, but normal, everyday cats can be just as sweet and wonderful. It really depends on the individual cat and how you bond with it more than its breed.
@@cmay7429 Caroline, 💗your comment. I've had 5 rescues over the years, mostly Calico and Tabby cats, each one unique and amazing. I see them as spirits and with love n respect they reveal their inner personalities. All different! The Norwegian F C I discussed above was also thrown into the streets, lucky that I got her. Never seen a cat with some of her markedly different physical and personality traits so I had to do some research as to potential genes. Wow, never had heard of her breed before! Some breeds tend to share some traits, but you're right - it is so dependent on how you interact with them, and their prior life. This one was found in a Brooklyn car repair shop hiding. She's my kissy face but my true heart is the intense Tabby girl who's trying to stare-control me right now to play with a string. Irresistible, all of them!
I love this cat, and of course the baby too. I really loved the way the owners treated their cat with the new baby, always showing love for the animal so sweet, and the new baby getting her share too What a lovely video.
I love how thoughtfully, lovingly and gently you guys introduced your cat and baby and more importantly *included* your cat into your new family. So many people get so absorbed in their babies that they completely abandon and neglect the cats, depriving them of attention they deserve just as much as any child.
When my parents were preparing a room for me they had a cat named Merlin and he thought that it was his room and all his toys. He would bring them all over the house and play with them. Let's just say when I arrived he wasn't exactly thrilled.
I found one rule: The day before yesterday's leading actor is Phili. Yesterday is Niko. Today is Milo. Grandparents is on the way~ What a lovely family
I wasn’t a baby when I got a newborn kitten, but I was in preschool. I met my cat the day he was born. Helped bottle feed him. He passed in 2019 at 18 years old. I doubt I’ll ever have a bond that deep with another animal. He’s in every memory I have. I don’t remember a time without him. This kind of bond is truly beautiful.
My parents adopted a tabby the day they discovered they were pregnant with me, and of course when I was born, that tabby wouldn't leave my side. That cat let toddler me pick her up and carry her around like a ragdoll under my arm. Cats are so tolerant of babies.
Milo is a very chill, sweet cat. I’m 59 and always have had a cat in my life and love cats. But my aunt (RIP❤️) had a MEAN cat that would attack everyone except her. He once jumped down from the refrigerator onto the washing machine repairman’s head while the man was bent down fixing the machine and attacked him. LOL. Blessings to Milo and baby. 🙏😊
I never get tired of seeing these cuties it never get old. In this trying times with the world is experiencing right now. A big smile on my face. Love it.
Thank you for posting this video. I work at an animal shelter and I can't tell you how many bring in their cat or dog because "we just had a baby." Your supervised introductions are spot on. Here's to a happy and loving life for all!
What a beautiful baby girl! Her patience with all the animals is outstanding. There is nothing that can be said about the three pets... because they are Gods present to you and your daughter. They are wonderful. The understanding they have for the family is remarkable. You are blessed in so many ways. Kathleen
Mia’s filling out beautifully🤗🌻💕 Will be in 3 to 6 months soon🤗🌻💕 Lovely compliment Milo gave Amelia when he purred and kissed her, Yeah!!!! You give them all so much love there’s no room for jealousy.
I find this interesting considering I’ve never had cats. The only cat that ever interacted with my eldest as a baby was my MIL’s. That cat loved my husband but didn’t care for me until I was pregnant. Once I had the baby she went back to not caring for me and preferred my husband again. She liked the baby just fine until she got old enough to grab her. Once that happened she preferred to trail behind her at a distance.
