Personally I hated playing my 7 string when I had it in standard tuning. It’s a full step down and it plays like a dream.

a 7 string in standard is just as heavy as drop A. Plus it’s awesome because if instead of open chords you can strum the 7th string and have a much different sound and effect even while playing the same notes.

I play master of puppets solo included on a 7 string v standard tuning amazing! Then if I wanna shred alittle harder my self imma lick it up with the 7 string and who knows what else 🤘🖤👏 good video man

I have 3 guitars, a dean from hell dime signature 6 string tuned to dime signaturequarter step down, or 432hz normal, a shecter 6 string for drop C and a schecter 7 string for b and below. I love my 7

Try Northlanes drop A# 6 with a low F on the 7, drop but including the 7th makes it standard shape. It’s a ton of fun

That guitar had been my only dream guitar left for a longgg time. One day soon. Never was able to decide if I wanted to get it 7 or 6 (I already have a good 7 but a strat and a shitty 6 so I'm only really missing a good 6 for non strat shit obviously

I'd already wanted a 7 string, then i saw this, and like many others here, served as a catalyst to speed up the ol GAS. Well, now that i have it, learning this is super cool.

What about a 7-string in pure 4ths, then tuned a whole step down? D standard is so badass, and to add a string deeper than that seems kinda perfect even if I don't really like the sound of Drop B, let alone "drop A" since it's too muddy.

It only sounds muddy if you don’t adjust the EQ to account for the lower frequencies.

My 9 string stays in standard, mostly because drop tuning that just sounds goofy.

Hands down the best tuning of all time, anything lower than that is just too much(no hate for y’all djent lovers but you gotta understand that dropping the tune doesn’t apply for: “dropping the bassist”).

@@ilay829in my opinion you don’t really start dropping the bassist until you get into F standard and lower. You can still make anything work tho, just tune the bass up to match the F, or get a sub octave bass so you can still be an octave down.
