Jack, Jack, I want you back! I really think he would have LOVED these collaborations of yours Joe and seen it as a wonderful success far far down the road from the musical pairings he used himself. These video tracks must take an immense amount of work and I thank you for keeping Jack (oldest and best friend in my head) with me in this perfect way: Thanks Joe - more power to you
Thank you man. No I don't have an agent and I can't just contact them as a nobody. Plus I would also need Kerouac estate consent. But yes that would be swell. Apreciate your suggestion though
I never knew there where so many great recordings left to us followers of Jack Kerouac. Thank you so much. So uplifting. Pure soul you can rely to, go into and be your self, and feel the nerve in pure art and life and death if you have the courage 😮
@AJoe: What makes these so great is that you have matched the perfect music with Kerouac's words and attitude. You really paid attention. Thanks loads!

Early in the morning ... 1st thing it be known Jack 1st thing in the misty morning sets one on the daypath quite perfectly timeless wonderfull pieces joe.... (The Sad Turtle by Jack Kerouac) In the ocean there a very sad turtle (Even tho the SS Mainline Fishin Ship is reeling in the merit like mad) Swims longmouthed & sad, looking for the Impossible Except Once afternoon when the Yoke, Oh, the old Buddha Yoke set a-floatin is in the water where the turtle raises his be-watery snop to the sea and the Yoke yokes the Turtle a Eternity -- "Tell me O Bhikkus what are the chances of such a happening for the turtle is old and the yoke free and the 7 oceans bigger than any we see in this tiny party." Chances are slender -- In a million million billion kotis of Aeons and Incalculables. Yes, the Turtle will set that Yoke free, but till then, harder yet are the chances, for a man to be reborn a man in this Karma earth
it’s may and little cody and old man go cutting together into the adventures of a hard won evening and one which of course like all life is doomed to tragic, unnameable, to-make-you-speechless and sad faced forever death; just as I used to hurry with my father in May dusks of Saturday, towards unspeakable seashores, with lights before them, and swooping spaces fit for gulls and clouds scuds, towards ramps of yellow sulphur lamp light Useless! Useless! -heavy rain driving into the sea
Just found this again... i love this... & i need u to kno, im not some crazed person with to much time on my hands. Im an illustrator, & composer, no more out than some. I do enjoy my time between. Its when im at play & entertaining myself with other things; like listening to the hours & hours of uploaded mixes that i dig.. Yours seem to be the mixes i keep coming back to. Im thanking you for doing this so fucking well Joe... dammit man, Just digg'n thats all. Its as simple & as complicated as that... ☆Avodia
That's awesome! Glad my pieces are keeping you entertained. I didnt think about it at the time, but they are turning out to be quite timeless. The Ocean was the 3rd one I ever did. After Beat, Frisco. Its one of the most popular on here. Thanks for the heads up. Not that I thought you were crazed haha, but good to know. The Internet can harbour such peeps. Love that your a creative yourself. That makes sense that you are a composer/ illustrater as you defo have a deeper appreciation, especially for the Jazz and prose. It's my pleasure "for doing this so fucking well" as you say haha. Love Joe
This mash-up works particularly well in places, like at 6:02 where the music builds and quiets right when Jack speaks...perfect! but as in the others, it’s hit-and-miss, sometimes the volume of the music over-rides his voice. Still, great idea, all of these. I’ve been listening to the Kerouac recordings for over 30 years, so it’s interesting to hear them with with various music, some familiar (Miles/Flamenco Sketches) and some not familiar, like this...
Blessings, yes my early work is a little untidy, but I got better as this project evolved, these were not originally intended to share with the world. I did think of cleaning the early Volumes up before I uploaded, but I kinda like the mistakes and inconsistencies now, thanks for clocking it though, It shows me you listened intently and dig.

Truly amazing!!! How you got the readings and music to match up so perfectly is astounding!!! I have only listened to this and "San Francisco"!! Mind blowing!! Sure you did not cull it from some other source??
Ha-ha Blessings. Nope, I heard it in my mind one day, and realised Jack's Ocean Prose would sit perfect with Cinematic's Ode to the Ocean. I just needed to suss out how to add all the jigsaw pieces together.
Well now, this is just what the Dr Ordered... Ahhh, & what a relief... Just done with 'American Nightmare'... You couldnt have done it better. Considering the current sitch. & now... @@avodiablackheart6131 Hey there Avodia, Thanks man. I thought I'd try another Jim one. Might create more if I can find the right tunes to compliment Jim's prose. Moline? I've heard of that place. Midwest, cool cool. Greatful Dead!! Wow!!Nice nice. Their artworks very recognisable, that gives me an idea of your aesthetic. I was into the Haight-Ashbury scene back in my late 20s, so many great bands from US man. 120 years between us!! I bet you've got some stories to tell?!! I always think people should write a book on their lives. And each generation adds to it. Like a family tree book that retains all the stories. After all it's only 200 years until we are forgotten that makes me sad to think. I love stories of everyday people's lives, things they've witnessed, thoughts feelings how things change etc. I'm rambling now...haha speak soon. Great to here from you - Joe
@@AficionadoJoe Thankyou for getting back so quickly... I realize youre busy. I knew yould get somthing posted over the 'event'. How could you not?!.... & theres all that, It makes me retreat into better things, such as any number of your posts. Your intense attention to them as a whole is always a healthy dose. & Theraputic as it could possibly ever be. & there are some things... my across the ocean culturally anthropological friend, that we should stay on... & i would bet yould enjoy what ive produced as well...dig, if i Could get my audio recordings to you, it would be for your personal listenning. Just think you'd enjoy it on a level man. Its Instrumental. Catch u on another side... Have a blessed day.... ☆~Avodia~ O, were not old, were Season'd~~
@@AficionadoJoe& a good morning to you Joe. hope this finds you doing well, & most likely conjuring together somthing stunning to add to your already incredibly thought out collaborations. & Yes, from the midwest, but lived in or near Berkely officially from 76 -90. The Original GD 'Purple' Tshirt design for Berkeley 'Greek Theater 82' shows. Is my original design (it has a Crescent Moon) deadheads named it the "Temple Moon Rose" shirt.. GD reprinted it @ least 4 times using different colour'd shirts & off colours of ink, (they destroyed it doing so) my original vintage shirts have sold for $800 on ebay, & i myself bought 1 from the GD office staff for $250.. I was paid $725 total. Its been bootlegd all over the country. Its currently on a sweatshirt in Kansas w/a full moon. < adulterated & awful, yet selling.. wow... If u google; 'Melozone 1982 Bekeley Greek Theater Purple Tshirt' it should come up. Only the deep purple one w crescent moon is mine. 'Melozone prod' was my prod co then. Original will have Melozone/GDP in blue under temple @ bottom. so theres that... as far as my audio production goes... My compositions are different, for the times, so named it 'Its Different Now' Recorded in 87. Very Jazzy & Emotional. Yould like it im sure... I truely want to get a copy to you. So... could i get it to your friend in Md who could get it to you?.. Im serious Joe, Im sure you need to listen to it. & wow, there are many amazing stories to tell.... have a productive & great day.. catch you on another.... ♡☆ Avodia~
@@AficionadoJoe & I spaced adding... Yes, you should do more Jim... Im quite sure youll find the correct music for that collab somewhere... you always do, as infinate as all art forms are... its out there. You know & i know... ♡☆~Avodia~
Is this only on RU-vid? I'm going to do some work on a charity radio station and contemplating using it if that's cool? I still need to see the set up they have and go through some training but if I can get access to it who should I reference? Aficionado Joe? I might not but just writing up a set and really like this and believe it will flow into my next song choices. Thanks.
kerouac sure suits modern jazz -i done stuff like this with my james dean mercury on my u tube channel but not like serious stuff anyways you could never get musicians to do a session then accept this kinda spoken word over it i tried and they are just too uncreative but you could never do this live in a venue but maybe in a theatre and everyone says to a film but it can suit short films
This is so good its astounding!! Joes mixes are so incredible that its like theyre actually meant for each other from the start. Just Perfectly Matched. Thanx again Joe.... ♡☆☆☆☆☆
