Calgary is the best city for future generations Canadians and Immigrants. I am already seeing some of my friends and family members who work from home moving to Calgary. Calgary has fastest growing tech, finance and film industry. Calgary is also world’s cleanest and most livable city in Canada.

Two other things worth mentioning that I wasn't ready for: 1) the air is VERY dry, especially in winter. Coming from the coast, I used to think that body lotions were silly and pointless. In Calgary, they are critically important :) 2) the tap water is very hard. You will need to remove mineral scale from EVERYTHING that gets wet (kettle, coffeemaker, shower heads etc.). Buy some CLR in the household cleaners section. DO NOT put tap water in your humidifier (you will need a humidifier) or else your house will look like it was used to package cocaine. Overall it's a lovely city. Yes the winters are cold, but it's also Canada's sunniest city so even the cold winter days are beautiful.

I had the pleasure of visiting Calgary was a great trip. Went to the mountains did the tour. Went to a bar with bull riding out back. Had the chance to go the manager at the bar called me with 2 tickets that were hard to get but flew out next day. I'm sure that date would have been very exciting. Cheers 🍻 to her and the staff they were very nice indeed. Hoping to head back that way at some point. Have a great day. Peace 😎 ✌️.

I've lived in and around Calgary for over 50 years. I'm 59 now. On his first issue of needing a car. I don't have one. I don't need one. The Calgary Transit system IS really good and you can easily get around other parts of the city on the LRT (Light Rail Transit. A rapid train operated by the city.) Currently the fare for transit is 3.60 for 90 minutes. You just need to plan your trip to account for the times the buses take. And remember....buying a monthly bus pass for roughly $120 a month is still much cheaper than paying for the parking fees the city asks for. With the current price of gas everywhere that's another bonus to public transit. And no, I don't work for transit. I'm retired. Thanks.

Hi sir, just watched your great video and subscribed to your channel about Calgary. As you know there is a war in Ukraine. I and my family applied for the CUAET program for Ukrainians. We got approval to come live in Canada but we haven't decided yet where to live from the beginning. I have had 8 years of experience in Texas/USA. We are between Vancouver and Calgary. I like Vancouver because of the warm climate than Calgary, but Calgary has more opportunities than Vancouver. First of all sales tax and other taxes are way behind BC and secondly, rents are cheaper than in Vancouver. I see that Calgarians look like more Native Canadians and agriculture is grown around Alberta so I am also dealing with agriculture. Just wanted to know which place will be for us better to live in? Schools are very important to us which district should we live in to send our child to the best elementary school? Thank you very much.

@livingincalgaryalberta Год назад
Hey Faith, thanks for subscribing, so glad you are reaching out. I would definitely recommend Calgary for you to start with mostly because of what you already mentioned. The cost of living is much more affordable in Calgary and the economy here is excellent. The schools are also very good, and even though we have a snowy winter, it’s much more sunny (average number of sunny days us 333 per year). Also, if you you decide to buy a home, Vancouver house prices are about 3 times more expensive so very difficult to be a homeowner. Hope this helps and welcome to Canada 🇨🇦 😊

(doesn't really snow where I live) I heard internet speeds are pretty good in calgary, I depend on that for work so I'd like to know a bit more People all over Canada seem extremly friendly, but a lot of people seem to hate on Alberta, are people in calgary different somehow from other canadians? Loved the video!
@livingincalgaryalberta
@livingincalgaryalberta 2 года назад
During the winter months in Calgary it snows and the resident of a property is responsible to clear your walkway in front of your property of snow with 24 hours of a snowfall. All you need to do is have a snow shovel and you are set. Most the time it's not very much snow and not too much work, but sometimes there is a big storm and there could be 2 ft of snow. So, bottom line, you need to clear the snow off public walkways in front of your walkway. Internet speeds are excellent in Calgary and people are very friendly in Calgary for the most part, Calgarians are known for being friendly. I hope this helps 😊

@@deboraabh If you have a healthy liver and do not take it regularly, Tylenol is fairly harmless ( I understand Reye's syndrome does exist but it is incredibly rare and affects children). Acetominophen is not going to just spontaneously cause liver or kidney failure or damage. Don't drink while taking it and you'll be fine... Chinooks happen but not so often that this would be a concern if you could not take OTC drugs. Also, the headache is not debilitating so you could just work through it. I'm sure there are treatments you use to treat headaches when they occur so just use them I guess.

@livingincalgaryalberta
@livingincalgaryalberta 2 года назад
Excellent question. When the bank of Canada interest rate rises it will slow down the buying but I believe there will be continued pressure on Calgary house prices because there’s so much demand still from people moving from Ontario and Vancouver as those house prices are still quite a bit higher than Calgary prices. So I predict the prices in Calgary will continue to rise probably for the next couple years maybe not at the same rate but continue pressure.
