Thanks for this tutorial! As someone new to Trello I've been swimming in cards lists and boards unable to come up with a clear system. it's super helpful to have a step by step to follow .
@@Simpletivityis there a way for the cards to be group for say a 2week cycle completion. And then still not loose them after the project ends in 2weeks?
I just started to use Trello. I am a rookie. I use it for Personal to help me remember. I have 3 list. 1. What book I am reading. I use the label green. 2. What chapter I have read. That label is yellow. 3. Finish. That label is red. Excellent advice!
I use Redbooth before and this is the best alternative so far. I'll definitely recommend this to my new work/workmates. As graphic designer My board setup is: ● NEW TASK ● TASK IN PROGRESS ● TASK READY FOR REVISION ● TASK COMPLETED
This was very helpful! The interface has changed some in 4 years, but I was able to hunt and find most of the features. Updating the video to match the current interface would be nice.
Thank you! Nicely done and good clear message. What programs/tools did you use to create this video? I especially like how you have separated topics which is visually traceable. Thank you on advance.
Hi. Thank you for a beautiful demo. One question: I am handling five projects simultaneously. Can I have a snapshot of all the projects status on a perticular day at once? OR do I have to open each board to know the status?
Great video. Thanks. Question: What's the difference between a board and a card? Can a single board be used to track all issues between two companies? Can cards have sub cards? Or do I need a new board to track each major task, using Cards to track the sub-tasks?
Thanks Scott - very new to Trello, just this week and have greatly appreciated your tutorials. Found you initially through the Delete a board video - -was a huge help. Thank you again Carole
I saw. you used labels to identify numerous concerns or attributes. In a different video, you used labels to align To-Dos to specific projects. My concern is that putting too much information into a label construct makes it difficult to understand and use consistently. So for instance, if I use labels to imply urgency and also to identify projects I may have a project with an urgent to-do so which color do I use? Other than creating a list for each project (then I can't differentiate the info you have across the top) is there another easy way to differentiate projects so that labels can imply urgency or some other critical attribute?
We have multiple users - and multiple boards. How can I 'freeze' or protect a card from being changed other than notes. I don't want a card (my card) to have its custom fields, etc. changed if it needs to leave my board for a while and go to someone else process board(s). I hope that makes sense, and I really hope there is a solution. Thanks
It's a great question. But unfortunately, I don't have a great answer. You could use a tool like Unito to sync cards between boards. With this app, you can choose what can be changed or edited on the original card.
I am a new user to Trello and following your video I have tried to add the "Custom Fields" Powerup but it does not seem to be available. Am I missing something here?
@@rawaldpk That's correct. Trello does not allow you to protect or restrict cards to just certain members. If you're a member of the board, you can see everything within.
Hi, I find your videos very helpful and I love your way of seeing things! I just bought the "Business Class" program of Trello only to understand that Butler is currently not available. Can you suggest any alternative power-up that can do the trick (all the tricks)? Thanks
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback, Ariel. I'm so glad you enjoy my content! While the integration to Butler is currently 'in progress', I'd recommend that you check out the Projects by Placker power-up.
This would definitely solve the progress tracking - I although love the sub task as item implementation with the automatic close of the parent when all the children finished. Any power up except for butler can do this?
OH! Forgot to mention- until Trello gives us the option to PIN cards to top of list, I suggest using Color Blind option for "Description" (in addition to a consistent label color, like you suggest (blue in your example)
Hi Scott, I was wondering what you use or would recommend to plan your tasks. And with planning, I mean, how do you make sure that all the cards that you put in the "Confirmed" list (to use your example) can actually be done. How do you make sure you are not over-committed, that you have the resources available and that other tasks (maybe in a "Confirmed" list on another board) are not interfering with your tasks on this board.
Great question, Dimitri. I try to limit the total number of tasks that I pursue in a given day. While I could use the estimated time of tasks to complete, I find this takes too much time and is also too variable. Therefore, I'll purposefully pursue a smaller number of tasks per day so that in the late afternoon, I can start tackling things I've scheduled for tomorrow (nice positive way to finish the day).
hi there, trello allows you to invite different team member to review task. But does the trello board allows the creator to invite and remove team members from time to time? Also, if the creator wants to leave the board, can another member take control as the master of the trello board?
Yes and yes. The board administrator can control who is added and can remove members if needed. They can also promote other members to be an admin and take over the board.
All of our members are in Viber, is it possible to add members via Viber rather than email. Your tutorials are very helpful but of course they cannot cover every scenario. Thank you.
Hi Scott, I have a question: when there are too many cards on a list, or when there are too many lists on a board, the cards at the bottom or on the right hand side dissapear from my screen. Is there a solution to this problem?
IS THERE A WAY TO MERGE TRELLO CARDS? You get one email to start the first card, then you get other emails etc follow ups, that you want to keep connected to the first trello card
I am new in Trello , I want to add my Daily Task in this tool like Task Name, priority , due date, complete date, status and comments , can any one help in this regard what step should i use , your early reply will highly be appreciated.
Hello Scott! Thank you very much for the GREAT videos and super-useful tips! I have a question regarding multiple power-ups on a team board. Let's say i setup a new board and i bought the business version. Then I enabled 2 or 3 power-ups on this board. Can i invite new members to this board? Will they be able to use the Custom Fields and buttons that i created with Butler on this board? Are there any limitations? Thanks a lot.
There is a "home" button that shows you "what's next" and "recent activity" across all the boards you own or have joined. And, there is the Board list that shows all your boards. These are sorta dashboards.
I agree that the Home area is the best option right now (without installing a power-up). I'm hoping that Trello will be adding some better high-level views of multiple boards soon.
Much more expensive than Trello, and doesn't have a free version of the product. Premium features may not be worth the cost when Zentao can do most of what this can do for free.
