That poor woman was scared out of her mind yet the operator showed absolutely no compassion just utter indifference,I hope she remembers that every day for the rest of her life!!
I think that she would have faced an investigation afterwards and however careless she was at the time her behavior possibly haunts her now, even if she tries to justify herself in her own mind
what makes me even more fustrated about that one is even in the time of need and being scared out of her mind she was being soooo polite saying "maam" to an operator who clearly shouldnt have that job and being completely rude i hope karma found its way to that woman and still chasing her... very sad rip to that woman man
He really was a hero. It’s so unfortunate though because it should have been prevented. The space race was never worth acting so cavalierly with people’s lives.💖
I'm sorry to say but she sounded like a woman who didn't give a crap. And I'll bet to this day, that former operator is still saying that Debbie sounds have known better.
Nothing happened to her. She had already put in her notice. She did dispatch help, they just didn’t make on time. An investigation cleared her which I think is ridiculous. She made her final moments even worse!😢
The cosmonaut that didn’t fly was Yuri Gagarin, the first man in Space. The cosmonaut that died thought Yuri was too important to the nation to risk, and they were best friends.
The first to come back alive. There's a lot of suspicion the Soviets had been chucking cosmonauts up and them not coming back before Gargarin managed to. For propaganda purposes it was kept quiet!
The 911 operator is Donna Reneau. The person who led the review, Dean Pitts, said “they wouldn’t have fired her anyways”. The Fort Smith police department is a disgrace to human kind.
She had already put in her final notice. An investigation cleared her because she did still dispatch help. They just didn’t make it on time. What kills me is how much worse she made her final moments. She had zero compassion. It is so heartbreaking that she was so terrified and was being scolded like a child.😢
No, she didn't kill the woman. That woman killed herself when she decided to drive through the water. The 911 operator made her death unbearable and no one has the right to do that. I cannot understand how she lives with herself now.
she was working the final shift after putting in her 2-weeks notice. Arkansas officially found no wrongdoing. So many reasons not to live in that state.
Unfortunately, from what i found, she was not charged because she technically didnt do anything illegal, just morally reprehensible. She also had put in her 2 weeks prior and that was her final shift, so they couldnt even fire her. And from the CNN report, they would have just reprimanded her, not fired her.
The fact that the 911 operator was BLAMING THAT POOR DISTRESSED WOMAN IS SO FREAKING CRUEL! Did the operator think that she was simply being dramatic and had a death wish? It feels even more horrible that the lady was APOLOGIZING **To the person who was supposed to help save her life** about something she (Debby) didnt have control over. She didn't know. Yet she was apologizing to the OPERATOR WHO LET HER DROWN. It really does make my blood boil.
From what I found, she had put in her 2 weeks prior to the call and was on her final shift. She literally did not care. No charges filed against her because she didnt do anything illegal, just morally reprehensible.
I'm not even related to the girl who drowned. But hearing this pissed me off so much I want to find that 991 operator and beat her ass myself. She should have been fired, charged and jailed for life.
Gus Grissom was my dad’s best friend and fellow test pilot. They all knew that the oxygen atmosphere was very dangerous and filed objections which were dismissed by the program director. The responsible engineers are all dead now but the families like Mike and Scott live on.
I love in Star Trek III, they named a Federation science ship the USS Grissom in honor of Astronaut Lt Col Grissom. It's fitting that is a ship of science and exploration
Something about sounds seems to linger and cause more trauma than visuals. I’ve seen horrible videos online and a lot of the death wails and such will never leave me.
Omg the operator on the phone with the drowning lady needs to known! How dare she talk to anyone who needs help that way. She should never work again for life! I hope family sued their ass off!
Nothing happened to her. She had already put in her notice. An investigation found that she still did her job and dispatched help. They sadly couldn’t get to her on time. Hopefully they at least did some sensitivity training after.💖
Donna Reneau Scolded Debbie Stevens for Not Seeing the Flooded Road & Told Her She Was Going to Have To “Shut up” “This will teach you next time don’t drive in the water,” Reneau told her during the 22-minute call. Fort Smith interim Police Chief Danny Baker defended Donna Reneau, said that she has had to endure things as a dispatcher that no one should have to! Do you wanna know what happened to the obese dispatcher, nothing . In February 2019 she was named Fire Dispatcher of the Year. Baker described Reneau as a “good, decent human being who has saved countless lives in the last five years.” ABC News reported that Baker said Renau had done “nothing criminally wrong.”
Its "Debbie" Stevens and the call was not disconnected, she was still taking to 911 when the car moved and completely filled up with water and she sadly drowned. Her actual death was edited out of a lot of the recordings that are online.
The 911 operator from the Debra Stevens flash flood drowning was actually on her last shift as she had submitted a two week letter of resignation prior to this incident. This was her last shift and it really shows. she should at least have some sort of punishment or fine or at least something administered to her. Disgusting
After home fire that our dog died in, I received audio CD. EMT radio dispatch and sirens was terrible to listen to and trying to figure out what was going on . My 83yr old mother told me she couldn't take it. It is a bad memory.
My heart goes out to Debby who drowned. All sad deaths but She was terrified. The 911 dispatcher was found to have correctly done her job. Heaven help anyone when she did it incorrectly. Even if you believe someone to be at fault, in that role you can’t voice it or let it affect how you speak to someone. She had everything in her power to help her at least be less scared even if the outcome couldn’t change. I hope she can live with herself. Then again, by the sound of her on that call she’s not an empathetic person so doubt she’ll suffer 😢
I have listened to that entire 911 call of the lady who ended up drowning in her car... she was absolutely petrified, as anyone would be. She was terrified of water and scared beyond belief. The 911 operator was a POS, berating the woman instead of calming her down and possibly instructing her on how to save herself. Instead, she spend the entire call making that woman feel stupid for calling 911. To add insult to injury, the police dept said they couldnt prosecute her bc she quit. THATS NOT A VALID REASON! We all have heard of cases of ppl being prosecuted and charged with crimes from a previous employer. The police dept is just as shitty as she was, they were just trying to cover their asses. I wish the absolute worst for everyone involved in that woman's death for the rest of their lives and beyond. That phone call is one of the most disturbing and haunting things I've ever heard, and I work in healthcare... the way she was panic screaming 'I CAN'T BREATHE' is just heartbreaking... and the repeating of her last words on the recording as she was consumed by the water and her cell phone went out... if you haven't heard it, don't look for it.
A few years ago my dog broke into my house & started fighting my cat. I lay injured on the ground couldn't get up. I pressed my alarm screaming help me to the operator (my address comes up automatically) but she just sat there listening to me scream & after a few minutes asks me what she wants her to do. Im wtf im injured call the ambos , my family ... help! My cat passed away & i spent 6 weeks in hospital after 2 surgeries.
Out of all those other recordings even though they were bad the 911 call was the most shocking i hope that woman is haunted by her actions but the way she acted something tells me she still wont care 😢
Lol Those are stock videos. I’m avoiding copyright claims so I purchase stock videos to fill in gaps. Especially with topics that don’t have many images or footage available.
What do you mean? Ending it with the Apollo 1 fire? All 7 of these audios are heartbreaking in their own way. Either way it would end with a very unfortunate story.
@@JadeExplainsDeath just the audio being the very end. I don’t know, was just off putting to me. (Being used to some more dialogue after an audio clip like that) ❤️
